We were late for our son's school play when...Oh no...the garage door wouldn't open! Turns out the…read moretorsion spring completely snapped, and I had never dealt with this issue before. Later that day (after making the play) I contacted multiple garage door repair vendors in the area for quotes. Most of the quotes for the spring repair were similar in price, but what stood out to me about Garage Door Excellence was that Mike's response was much more informative and personable than the others. He was also upfront in answering my questions about potential replacement of my outdated LiftMaster unit. I scheduled an appointment, and Dakota appeared the very next morning. He was also very knowledgeable and helpful, and I never felt like they were trying to upsell anything. I wound up going with two high cycle springs on their recommendation. Even though slightly more expensive, the added durability would be worth it since we open/close the garage door several times a day. Thank you, Mike & Dakota, for your professionalism and honest advice...we know who to turn to for our garage door repairs in the future!!

As a result, instead of gently gliding to a soft close, the door buckled in the middle like a twig - completely totaled. Kristian from R&S came out to inspect the situation. He tested the door and inspected the tracks. He was upfront that the door needed to be replaced (which was a bummer). However, the offer I received from their manager (Dan) for replacing the door was reasonable and they were able to schedule the work promptly. The new door was installed without a hitch and glides smoothly on the tracks. I feel that R&S Vallejo is a quality outfit, and I intend to call them for future garage door repairs. Recommended.

We never felt pressured into anything, and after reviewing our options, we chose to replace the entire garage door although he could have repaired the one we originally had at a fair price. John is a nice guy, easy to work with, and his pricing was very fair. I'd definitely use him again and would recommend him to anyone looking for garage door service.

My door was stuck in a partially open position, and after my attempts to *fix* the problem by disengaging the motor and trying to force the door down, I was left with bent tracks, several rollers had popped off, and the door was now really stuck and crooked with a 2' opening on one side and a 3' opening on the other. Mychal quickly diagnosed the problem and went to work. A couple hours later my door was back in business, opening and closing more smoothly than it has in years! Mychal installed new cables, new cable drums, and new rollers. He also adjusted the torsion spring, realigned the tracks, and recalibrated the door stop position. He even lubricated the tracks and programmed my remote for good measure. Awesome service and very professional! All at an incredibly reasonable price. Very Disappointing Experience with Ace Door Repair…read more We previously used Ace Door Repair through Old Republic Home Protection and had an okay experience, but this time was completely different. Our garage door came off the rollers and would not close, and the issue also damaged the wooden housing. Ace came out and told us that the repair was not covered by our home warranty. Since then, the experience has been extremely frustrating. They told us they had ordered a replacement panel and would return to complete the repair. I took an entire day off work for the scheduled appointment, only to have them not show up and not call. After trying to reach them, I was eventually told the part had been ordered--but it turns out the part was never ordered at all. What is most disappointing is the complete lack of communication and follow-through. If you make an appointment and tell a customer a part has been ordered, you should honor that commitment or at the very least communicate when something changes. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend Ace Door Repair. They did not stand behind their work, failed to communicate, and wasted an entire day of my time.

When calling around, I actually got a referral for Johnson from a different company that was booked out for a few days. I called Tyler and he responded quickly, making an appointment on the spot. He came out early in our appointment time the next day, took a look at my door and found the problem much faster than the guy from the other company I had come out the day before. He asked a lot of clarifying questions and answered all of mine, quickly and straightforward. After giving me a paper copy of the estimate on the spot, he let me know what options were probably in stock and which would need more time to be ordered, and then he left. Overall, the work that Johnson would do was quite a bit more affordable and easily matched what I already had in my home, plus Tyler's service was quite respectful and informational. I'm accustomed to the challenges of local repair work and companies seeking to squeeze in as many appointments as possible for their technicians, so wouldn't lower my rating on this occasion. My technician, Luca, was very qualified, professional, and customer-focused. He provided the price estimate beforehand, and although it seemed a bit expensive, it was worthwhile for the repairs required of a 35-year old garage door which had never been repaired. Not only had the cable broken, but the tracks were out of alignment, and several parts had to be replaced. He also applied Silicone spray for lubrication, and showed me in detail how to do so (and which parts were most critical, and how often) myself. The warranties seemed reasonable too. Overall a five star review!
