I wish I could give this place more than five stars. I called late Tuesday night and spoke with Bill, and just as he mentioned, I received a call the following Wednesday morning. Since we were leaving on a trip, it was urgent for us to get our garage door fixed. A technician was able to come out that same day, and he was super friendly, outgoing, and provided excellent customer service. He explained everything in detail, walked me through the entire process, and fixed our garage in about an hour--even in freezing cold weather. We will definitely be using them again in the future! read more

The customer service at Nor-Cal is stellar. Taylor went above and beyond to respond to all my questions, proving helpful information about my garage door options. She patiently listened to my questions and provided thorough answers to help me make informed decisions. Stanley, who installed my garage door, was polite, kind, and efficient. He explained the installation process in detail. His work is thorough and it's clear he has years of experience installing garage doors. read more

We called Nor-Cal to help with issues we were facing with our MyQ app. The APP suddenly stopped working on all our phones and we tried to fix it with instructions from You-Tube and issue could not be fixed. I fixed an appointment with Nor-Cal, whom we have used before for Garage door issues. They promptly despatched the Technician and he was able to fix it. I would say STANLEY - the person who attended was very professional, courteous and isolated the issue step-by-step, explaining the details to me. He has to take assistance from MyQ App support person and had go through reset iterations few times to resolve the issue. Stanley is very knowledgeable person and made sure everything was working properly. We are thinking of putting a new door next year and surely be reaching out to Nor-Cal folks. They are very good at what they do. read more

Absolutely the best experience. I needed a new opener and was able to get an appointment next day. I now have a more high tech opener with blue tooth & camera. Extremely good value. Stanley was on time, professional, friendly & explained everything in detail. Thank you for everything!! read more

Just wanted to write a positive review for Bill and his team at Nor-Cal Overhead. I heard about them from members of a neighborhood group that I am a part of when I was searching for recommendations to fix my garage door. My single spring setup snapped as I was closing my garage last night. I called them first thing this morning during normal business hours to see when they could get someone out to fix it for me. They were able to schedule me in for an 11am-1pm time slot. Bill arrived a little early, which was great, and he was done within an hour. Professional, quick, and up-front with pricing. I got my spring replaced and upgraded to a dual spring setup, he swapped out my original rod end bearings, and upgraded all 10 rollers as well to teflon models with built in bushings. Overall very happy with my setup now, and it seems a bit quieter than before. Apparently Bill, the owner, still works a couple days out of the month on the jobs himself so I was lucky and happened to catch him on a day he was working. read more

Thanks to Bill, Stanley, Rebecca, Tyrone and Taylor, the updates to my garage went as smooth as possible. The quality of the work for the service requested was amazing and no issues. They also were great in helping ensure that our HomeLink worked as planned. Thank you! read more

On Friday night of the holiday weekend (New Year's) my garage door suddenly wasn't opening. This is our primary means to enter/exit our home and I haven't had work/maintenance on it since moving in 17 years ago. I called the local number on Saturday for Nor-Cal Overhead and requested emergency service, I was immediately connected with Bill. He understood my issue quickly and gave me a clear expectation of what the repair likely would require and the associated cost. He ensured I was aware of the incremental costs for the emergency service, so I could make an informed decision. Bill arrived at the scheduled time (same day service) and not only completed the repair, but performed an overall inspection of the door. He walked me through his observations explaining in detail where there were areas of concern and why, and also where things were looking good. I elected to take some of the recommendations for preventative maintenance and he completed that work in the same visit. My door is working great. Thanks to Bill, I feel confident that the repairs and maintenance will extend the useful life of my garage door. The same day service was awesome, it helped minimize the impact to my family. Thanks!! read more

We spent 5k on a new garage door and waited over 3 months for it to even come in. So far, right after warranty, we have had to have them come fix it no less that 4 times in about the same amount of years. They didn't care that the first problem was literally a month after warranty. It's 250 a pop just to GE them out and then usually "something needs to be replaced" at an additional 250. It's a racket. They wanted to charge us to "talk" on the phone with a technician so we could try to fix ourselves without calling the, and paying their exorbitant prices again. Steer clear from this company! read more

I had a great experience with Bill at Nor-Cal Overhead. My door had a collision, went all askew, and bent a shit ton of hardware. I hit him up on yelp Sunday night and he was at my house Monday morning. It turns out the original installer (me) sucks at installing garage doors. Bill replaced all the parts that got bent up, added parts I should have installed, and tweaked/tightened up things I didn't get quite right. The door is running good now. My door is a little over-sized (18'X10'), I guess technically a "commercial door" with a medium duty commercial opener, but Bill didn't trip. He just fixed it. read more

Our business unfortunately was broken down into and our garage door was damaged beyond repair. After consultation with a different company at first, It just wasn't the time frame I was willing to accept. This resulted in me doing some research and reaching out to Nor-Cal. Rebecca responded to my request, promptly sent three options to choose from, and kept us in the loop the entire time. Contracts were emailed saving time. The door was installed in a professional and timely manner. Follow-up emails to inquire about our satisfaction. Having Rebecca as a single point of contact was fantastic. She went above and beyond during our difficult break-in experience. I would highly recommend this company. read more

We are extreme happy for the work and customer service provided by these folks. Owner Bill was great and understanding when a critical part didn't work and after some research I was able to find it on Amazon. Bill was glad and helped me out with complementary service and his guys, Vince and Tyler did a fantastic job in installing the springs and the trolley. Very professional work done, attention to detail and now the garage works smoothly like a charm. Tyler did a great job under Vince's watchful supervision They both were paying attention to detail. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company and especially Vince and Tyler. The front office has good courteous and helpful folks. Thumbs up to Bill and his guys read more

Nor-Cal Overhead was very responsive and helpful from the first call. Jeremi came to my home and was profession, very helpful, on time and did excellent work. He went above and beyond to explain the features of my new garage door and opener while doing great work. I could not have asked for a better experience from beginning to end when dealing with Nor-Cal Overhead. read more

So I had my torsion springs snap on my garage door over the holiday weekend. I called up Nor Cal Overhead and they recommended I just do it after the holiday rather than paying for an emergency rate for an hour job. Which I truly appreciated because some businesses just would take the money. So I scheduled an appointment for Tuesday late afternoon and the tech called and said he was running a little late but should arrive in an hour. Then I got a call from the main office explaining there was an issue with the prior job ahead of me and they were asking for me to reschedule. Frustrating it was but I understand there are things that happen so I agreed to reschedule. They gave me first priority of appointments and was able to get to me when I was available. They also gave me a discount due to the inconvenience which I appreciated. Vincent arrived on time and got right to it. The job was quick and done with expertise. He gave the full door an inspection and shared everything else looked good and what may need some maintenance in the future. He was very professional and explained everything he did and what type of warranty came with the work. The door is now running smooth again. Thanks NorCal Overhead! read more

This company is awesome! Let me start off by saying I had somewhat of a unique request. I have a single car garage and wanted to gain as much space as possible so I wanted to replace the garage door and rework the rail so that the garage door goes up through the ceiling and into the attic thus getting rid of the rails and motor gaining much more space. I contacted 2 or 3 other company's that would not even entertain the idea. Then I came across NorCal. I called and spoke to Rebecca who was very helpful. She understood the idea and had me take pics and write out some notes for her to show her Forman. After she relayed the idea to the Forman she set up a inspection with the Forman on site. Forman said it was a go but I had some work to do on my part. I had to cut the hole in the ceiling and install a beam, which I did myself. After that the garage door was ordered, The whole process took a couple Of months but Rebecca kept in touch and gave me multiple updates in between. Once the materials arrived we set a install date, the workers were prompt and on time, very nice and respectful. they got the job done fast and everything worked great. They showed me how everything worked and how to maintain the garage door in the future. I'm very happy with everything, the whole experience has been great. I'd highly recommend them to anybody out there. read more

I could not have asked for better service than what I got from Nor Cal. Our garage door decided to stick part-way open at 9 at night. I called Nor Cal and got the owner. He said he would gladly send someone out right then but he was going to have to charge both a 4 hour minimum and overtime - alternatively he could have someone out literally first thing the next morning for regular rates. Since my husband and I could easily wait until morning (we were able to block the opening) we chose that and both could not have been more impressed that the owner did not automatically go with the quick buck. The crew was able to come out first thing, get the door closed, and explain the problem. We hired them on the spot to fix the problems. They came out later in the week, replaced our motor, fixed some other problems and our door is as good as new. I will absolutely use this company again in the future!!!! read more

I called on December 23rd because the cables on one of our garage doors malfunctioned, not allowing the door to open or close. I called Nor-Cal at 9:30 am, and they had a tech at our house by 1pm. Eric our tech was fantastic, professional and knowledgeable. Nor-Cal is now definitely our go to garage door company. Thank you Rebecca for fitting us in 2 days before Xmas and thank you Eric for great service. read more

Nor-Cal sent someone out and he told me that I needed a part to solve my garage door opener problem. He charged $135 to tell me that and then Nor-Cal gave me an estimate that I would have to pay another $135 to have the part installed plus pay for the part. I asked if the $135 I had already paid (to tell me what was wrong) would go toward the work and the owner said no. I was upset especially after I called Lift Master that makes the part and found that Nor-Cal was going to charge me a 100% mark up if they provided the part. I ordered the part from the company and saved twice the cost of the part! I'll have someone more ethical to install the part. read more

We purchased a garage door from Nor-Cal Overhead back in 2016. The team at Nor-Cal Overhead absolutely made our experience enjoyable and a never forgotten one. If you want an experience of excellence this is the team you want to work with. The installation was quick and went very smooth. They strive to go over and beyond the call of duty. Bill the owner is a wonderful person and his team is outstanding. They made our experience of purchasing a garage door an enjoyable one. They blessed us with a beautiful garage door that made our home take the next step of showing off its beauty. We are extremely satisfied with his personable services and his team. Nor-Cal Overhead showed us how they strive to have excellent customer service and safety comes first. Jump ahead to now 5/2019- We recently had to call Nor-Cal Overhead to come out and services the garage door due to normal wear and tear (we have children this door has been overly used daily for the last 3 years). The receptionist was wonderful she understood my concerns of safety with our children and made sure they had us on the schedule for the very next appointment. She even texted me later that even offering me an earlier appoint due to a cancellation. Jeremi the technician was a pleasure to work with. He showed up 30 mins early. He took all my safety concerns and the current situation into consideration. I was very pleased with Jeremy's work ethics, customer service skills, and his thoroughness to make sure that he fixed the issue with the garage door. He also went over and beyond to make sure everything was working properly. It feels and sounds like we have a new garage door. I am very pleased and satisfied with the service that was done by Nor-Cal Overhead and the customer service was beyond satisfaction. How this company went over and beyond for my family as a company Nor-Cal Overhead stands out amongst other companies. I deal with many companies as I work in the industry of residential construction. I will always recommend Nor-Cal to my customers and will always call on Bill and his team to service our garage door needs. Thank you, Bill and your team for providing excellent service. In response to Melissa G's reply: I realize that you are a company based in the same area where I live so I (wrongly) thought I would not be overcharged. Many people found my review useful and hopefully found business elsewhere (I don't care that you donate to community events and don't want to be overcharged for your donations.) Furthermore, yes my vehicles have remotes but I like the convenience of having extra remote. Per your request, I have reconsidered my 2 star review. read more

Our home has a real old-fashioned heavy wooden garage door that slides rather than rolling up. We learned this summer from a neighbor that Nor-Cal Overhead will work on doors of this type, unlike the vast majority of companies. Our garage door has always been completely manual. We would unlock it and give it a good strong push to open or close. Nor-Cal looked at what it would take to put in an automatic system and gave us a reasonable price for the work. Brandon and Josh then came out and installed it with a heavy-duty mechanism. They worked very nicely without rushing, and made a neat and sturdy-looking installation. Josh even fabricated and installed a heavy custom bracket so the motor can push the door side-to-side. Once installed, I decided that the standard seven foot track did not fully open the door, and they willingly swapped in a longer eight foot track. Everything has worked just fine and quietly since then. Excellent job. read more

this company was called to give a quote on a repair, they decided to perform un-authorized work while I was out of my store, then on top of that, their work lasted about 4hrs and broke again, and refuse to refund charges that double the estimates of two other companies. SCAM ARTIST! read more

Great, prompt service. Really saved me alot if money and took care of my 20 ft roll-up door for my business. Called at 730 am and the repair was done before 12. Technician was knowledgeable and courteous. Jennifer on the phone was on it from the beginning. Thank you again guys. read more

From the first phone contact for service to the final wave goodbye to the service technicians Steve and Joe, I am impressed by the efforts made by Nor-Cal Overhead to get our garage door mechanism repaired. Quick timely service appointment. Service tech called with arrival time. Steve and Joe identified and repaired additional problems that surely would have caused future breaks if left unchanged. The garage door was so heavy it could not be opened to remove the cars, so they had to work in very little space to change out broken equipment without damage to either car! S**t happens and I jammed our roll down screen at my job. Called the company as asked to by my boss, and spoke with Bill who told me that the technician, Eric, would meet me at my job and fix the repair. He was pleasant to talk to, and clearly knows what he is doing. 100% would use them again and I know my mom plans on hiring them to fix her garage door that doesn't open. Rebecca at Nor-Cal was very attentive and listened to all my needs. Excellent customer service.

Had an emergency with the wheel coming of of the track of the garage. Spoke to Bill, and yes, I was in a panic. I was also in the middle of an online meeting. When he said he would be at my home at around 2:00, I answered with "whatever". Immediately, Bill started to tell me off and said that he was not going to show up at all today an would put me on the schedule for Monday. He kept going at me and would not stop. Calling me names and making accusations about what I meant when I said "whatever." NOT THE WAY TO DO BUSINESS! I found another company that came over and fixed it much less than the $89.00 sevice call fee that I was quoted. read more
