    Thin Crust Pepperoni Pizza

I love Johnny Carino's...especially when using the app and signing up for texts. They offered a free thin crust pepperoni pizza. They sent me this text: "WELCOME TO OUR FAMILY Thank you for signing up for the Johnny Carino's email club. You will receive special savings, offers and be the first to find out about what is new at Johnny Carino's! Enjoy the offer below as our way of saying thank you for joining!" I went there after a 13-mile run and was very hungry. I showed the offer, and they went to prepare the pizza. Within 12 minutes, it was ready and looked delicious! The ambiance in the restaurant is nice, but I took the pizza home and devoured it! The toppings were delicious, and the crust was nice and crispy. I encourage everyone to join the app texting and receive special offers!

I was still looking for it to this restaurant. Ours closed down probably 12 years ago. I didn't know that they were still around. We ordered the skillet with sausage turns out there was more grease and there was sauce not impressed. I JUST CAN'T

    Baked Cheese Tortelloni

Arrived shortly after 4:00 pm today. Not crowded only 3 tables (including ours) had customers. Ordered baked tortellini supposed to be served with meat sauce. The sauce looked like thousand island dressing without meat. Once our food was served our server walked by our table 4 times and not once did he stop to ask how we were doing or how was our food. Our server finally came by asked how everything was and when questioned about the sauce for the tortellini, he said they get the regular meat sauce and mix it with Alfredo sauce. In my opinion, not a good idea. Since I returned the back tortellini dish, our server gave us credit for that dish.

This was one of the worst restaurants I've ever eaten at in my whole life. The service is absolutely terrible. We were served with PLASTIC CUTLERY AND USE AND THROW PLATES. There was hair in our STYROFOAM CUPS and there was zero ice to be found anywhere. A few other tables got actual bowls for bread but instead we waited 20 minutes, finished our food then FINALLY they gave us bread on a plastic use and throw plate. The restrooms oh lord are disgusting THERE IS SHIT ON THE TOILET SEAT. Like who even manages this place to make it this bad. The food has no flavoring, and the chicken tastes like it was from a can. The meatballs were mediocre and dry, and the whole restaurant is disorganized.

Cheese ravioli, add mushrooms and tomato

This was our first visit to Johnny Carino's. We arrived around 8PM on a Friday night and were seated immediately. Our server (Hayden) brought us super hot fresh (as all bread should be haha) bread while we waited. The moment we finished it he brought out more which I thought was really impressive. We were getting full on salad and bread before our entrees even could arrive I really wanted a mushroom ravioli but couldn't figure out what I was craving. I ultimately made a custom cheese ravioli which our server was happy to do and it turned out amazing. See photos of my cheese ravioli, add mushrooms and tomato I wish the mushrooms were whole/bigger pieces instead of tiny pieces but it was so savory and awesome anyway. It was served with a layer of cheese on top that was browned and crispy like on a pizza, the kind of gooey cheesy that makes your mouth water. They should totally add a vegetable ravioli dish like this the menu. While they do have vegetarian options, I felt like this restaurant was not super vegetarian-friendly/forward (Italian diet/cuisine really doesn't contain all whole lot of meat) but that is the case with most restaurants in the US. Adding a vegetable/vegetarian section would do a lot for the menu/restaurant and reach more customers. That said, they still have options. My partner had the lobster ravioli which was decadent. I also tried her house salad and the ranch was excellent, creamy without overdoing it (I am super picky about ranch). The ranch was so good I overall preferred the house over the caesar salad. We ordered a Bellini (it's frozen, not what I was expecting for a Bellini) and the Amalfi strawberry lemon, would definitely order the lemonade again, very refreshing. Overall a lovely experience. We'll be back!!!

This restaurant was everything I could of asked for. Probably the best restaurant we tried in all of Austin. I'm from Los Angeles, and have been to many high end and hip restaurants, this was definitely up there with some of the best restaurants. Food: Crab tagliatelle is a must! This dish was delicious and everything you can ask for from a pasta. Gnocchi special with Peas and Asperagus is a must. This creamy and feather light dish was packed with so much flavour. Lobster scalloping was very good as well and so was the filet mignon. But best of all were the side of carrots, pear and endive salad and the Cho salad. My drink was the basil cocktail was was phenomenal. Everything was just so so very good. Our waitress Tiagna was an absolute delight in every way. Thank you so much!!!

We arrived at 8:00 p.m. and left a little after 10:00 p.m. The food was delicious. My man absolutely loved his seafood pasta dish! He doesn't even eat pasta but he scraped that plate dry. I highly recommend ordering family style for the table but make sure your whole party is on board with splitting the check evenly because the restaurant does not break up the check according to diners only split evenly, I believe up to four ways. Example: Our check was $822 (included gratuities) for seven people and we were only able to split evenly four ways. Roughly $118 each. It is what it is but I didn't even get a main course. Just a glass of wine, a half of a piece of bruschetta, some of the Caesar salad and a small portion of the gnocchi (all shared) I'm glad I got to experience Red Ash, but now that I've checked that off my list, I'm good.

After giving our keys away we walked into what is a beautiful outside area at Juliet's. It's a nice mix of feeling like you're in downtown Austin but also not. We went inside to request two seats outside and this is unfortunately where everything fell apart. After being seated all the way at the very corner of the restaurant near the entrance, we didn't receive water for 15 minutes. In fact, we had to ask for water, as well as silverware, from a person who was cleaning a table- not a waiter. We didn't order until about 30 minutes after being seated. We noticed that others around us who were dressed nicer for the occasion were receiving service but we were not (jeans and a nice top as opposed to a dressy outfit). This is less of an accusation and more of an observation. It took another waiter noticing that we had not been served to come over and take our order, and that was 5 minutes after we had to flag down a busser to ask for water. The flip side of that whole first part is that the food was pretty good. We got complimentary table bread (after we asked for it since it never came before our main meal) that was soft and went well with the olive oil it came with. For our entrees we got the shrimp scampi and chicken parm. The shrimp scampi was fantastic and light with creamy and bold flavors in-between. The chicken parm was maybe the largest chicken cutlet we've seen given out at a restaurant. Not only was the cutlet massive but it was delicious as well with a nice, light breading and cheese on top. The spaghetti alongside it was a nice touch but this was a true chicken parm entree as it should be. We were offered a complimentary dessert as an apology for the miscues before we ate but turned it down (still good of them to offer). Leaving was easy as the valet was very attentive and quick to get our car. We wish we could say our time at Juliet's was perfect because the setting and food are very nice and a fun change of pace from the surrounding blocks. However, it's difficult to overlook the mistakes made from the jump. We noticed that another table next to us was also experiencing bad service and looked unhappy enough to leave in the middle of their meal/ We're always open to having good food again so hopefully the next time we're here things are different. Just an unfortunate bittersweet taste to what otherwise would have been a fantastic meal.

I will gladly have Sammie's take the Pepsi challenge against red sauce joints in NYC/NJ etc. In fact, I've told friends and family that I am going to take them to Sammie's when they visit from there. We just had such a fantastic experience - everything..the vibe..the red light fixtures and the color of the booths and the floor..the service - our server was great..loved their outfits..really had an old school little italy feel to it. The food was much better than I even anticipated - as a guy who grew up on NJ diner mozzarella sticks, I have a high bar for them and these were magnificent. And seriously...taking the "everything's bigger in Texas" slogan and applying them to mozzarella sticks?! top 10 achievements of the decade. The chicken parm was perfect - well seasoned, proper amount of crisp..the basil on top...the perfect browning of the cheese. You can either sit down first and take your time with the menu, or order in line before grabbing a table. Either way, they're very chill about it. Another cool thing: they're BYOB and will even cork it for you. Saw other guests bring their own glasses too, which was a nice touch. The pasta is clearly fresh.
