Floors of amazing shopping with food halls, home wear, apparel and all the designer stores you can think of. Well that's the most common one. Then you have all the smaller pop ups scattered through out the city. The location at terminal 5 London Heathrow has nothing compared to the original....lol... it's your usual pop up that tends to cater to the last minute shoppers needing a gift. This store carries your usual tourist gifts that is fast and simple. Chocolate, teddy bears, of course the tote bag and lots of trinkets. Things that catches holiday maker eyes. Small concert at the airport for all your friends and family last minute gifts from London.

Even just getting a taste of Harrods, I can see why people love this posh department store. I checked out Harrods before catching my flight and was happy to see all the merchandise they had, especially since it's just an airport location, so the inventory is limited. But it was nice to see the designers they offered here, and since I love Tory Burch, they had an entire section just for Tory Burch. The staff were super friendly and even told me what products would be cheaper to get back home versus in London, so it wasn't all about them making money. I ended up getting a Tory Burch card wallet and they escorted me to the other section of Harrods where they offered more of their gift items. This was perfect as I was able to get some gifts for loved ones. Glad I was able to get a glimpse of Harrods, a London specialty.

This store is definitely smaller than their two story store in Oxford that we got to visit early in my trip, but there was plenty of gifts to select from for kids. As this store is in the airport, it is tax free, so their prices are lower than their High Street prices. It was so hard to choose as they had so many cute stuff, but I settled on a fabric, not plastic, backpack for my niece. It's printed with red telephone boxes and Buckingham Palace guards. She'll love it! My nephew will be starting kindergarten very soon, so I got him a pencil case with a similar design as my niece's backpack. I also got a small backpack key chain for my friend's daughter. They do have stuff for adults as well--bags for all purposes, hand creams and lotions and travel accessories. Some have classic London icons on them, but this is so tastefully done that they don't look like tacky, as lots of souvenirs can be. If you're paying by credit card, you can choose to pay by GBP or USD. Many stores in London and beyond offer this service and I find that the exchange rate that they give you is pretty competitive, around 1.32. This would definitely be the way to go if your card charges a foreign exchange fee. Mine doesn't so it may be that my credit card may have a better exchange rate than the store's bank. You can also also choose to pay in USD cash. So if you need to shop for more gifts, stop by here!

I think I can confidently say Harrods is the best store on earth. The building alone is…read moreextraordinary, occupying its corner of Knightsbridge with the scale and permanence of a London landmark. Inside, floor after floor unfolds into fashion, jewelry, food, technology, and nearly anything else someone could conceivably want to buy. It is unapologetically excessive, but that ambition is exactly what makes it so much fun. What surprises me most is how pleasant Harrods can feel despite all that luxury. My wife and I once looked at diamonds here, fully aware we were surrounded by merchandise operating in another financial universe, and the staff could not have been nicer. They answered our questions, treated us seriously, and never made the interaction feel slimy or transactional. For a place this fancy, the warmth was striking. Another visit produced one of those purchases that becomes attached to a place. My wife bought a pair of Gucci loafers here, a significant purchase for us, and she ended up wearing them constantly. I still associate those shoes with London and the excitement of buying something special at Harrods rather than ordering it online. The Food Halls create the same sense of occasion, with spectacular rooms and counters worth exploring even when you are not hungry. Personally, my favorite territory is the Fifth Floor, especially the technology. On my last visit, the running selection nearby included the largest and newest collection of On shoes I had ever seen, as though Roger Federer and the Swiss president had stopped by between Wimbledon matches for a glow-up. They also had a state-of-the-art Sony television that I remember being around 80 inches and roughly £100,000, showing Gran Turismo on the newest PlayStation at the time. The image was so absurdly good it practically melted my face. Nearby sat a Samsung or LG machine the size of a wardrobe that steamed, refreshed, and cleaned clothing, the kind of absurdly futuristic appliance that felt straight out of James Bond. That is Harrods in miniature: the biggest, newest, and best versions of things you already know, plus things you did not know existed. For someone fascinated by retail, brands, and consumer behavior, the entire building is basically a history museum of capitalism still operating at full speed. Even the people-watching is incredible, with an unusually diverse international crowd making Knightsbridge feel like a crossroads of wealth, fashion, tourism, and London life. Historically, that idea runs much deeper than the current merchandise. Harrods has occupied Knightsbridge since the 19th century, and its famous pet department once sold exotic animals, including lions. Someday I would love to take a proper historical tour with someone who knows the building, the Harrod family, and the strange commercial history packed into these rooms. The merchandise changes, but Harrods seems to have spent generations asking the same question: what is the most remarkable thing in the world that someone might conceivably want to buy? Ultimately, what impresses me is how gracefully Harrods carries all this excess. Extreme luxury can easily become vulgar, plastic, and gluttonous, yet Harrods reflects something England does exceptionally well: celebrating tradition, design, and innovation at the same time. The grandeur is enormous without becoming tasteless, and during the holidays especially, the building can feel genuinely magical. If you are visiting London, go at least once, even if you have absolutely no intention of buying anything.

If you are in London you have to make a stop and even get yourself a souvenir. While visiting we decided to get lunch on the first floor. It was a little expensive but worth the experience.
