Bog standard shopping centre. It has an Apple Store, so it does the job for 90% of the things I need shopping centres for these days... - Good selection of other shops, including a big John Lewis. - Convenient parking - Decent food to be had (the warm pretzels are awesome) Don't be making a special trip down to Watford just for the Harlequin, but if you're in the area, this will probably be great for you. read more

The shopping centre is a nice place to get lost in. Really!! It has three or four entrances and for how hard I tried to orientate my self with the electrical maps...I always found my-self on the wrong place. I kept walking in circle for over 20 minutes looking for JD Sports. The numerous shops made it enjoyable still. Oh yeah; and there is also a chocolate shop on the ground floor. That was love at first sight guys. Nice getting lost in places like that. read more

This shopping centre is quite a long centre, laid out on two levels. There are plenty of multistory carparks attatched and nearby. If you use King you avoid the oneway bit. There are all the major high street brands plus a good sized Primark. There are lots of places to eat inside the Harlequin, though they are mainly sandwich, coffee or deli type places. Surrounding the mall is the town centre, which is partly pedestrianized. There are lots more shops here, such as the Gap. Plenty of chain restuarants too, such as Ask, La Tasca. This mall has a good layout, with plenty of toilets, lifts and escalators and stairs. I never feel hemmed in. There are not many designer shops if you are looking for those. I choose to shop here over Brent Cross. read more

This is a very large shopping centre with numerous car parks.There is an extensive range of shops as well as a market and access to Watford High Street. There isn't a lot of places to eat within the centre itself, a number of food courts have opened and closed. However there are a number of restaurants on the high street. The centre always appears clean and tidy with a visible presence of security. Some of the car parks can get very busy and parking isn't free. You are issued a ticket on entrance and then have to pay at pay points as you leave. Some of the car parks are also used as overflo when Watford Football Club are playing at home. The traffic around the centre does get extremely busy during this time too. read more

I love this shopping centre! It is easy to find your way around as it is just in one really long line of shops with 2 floors. The branches of chain stores (Primark, Marks and Spencer, BHS etc) are all a good size but can get pretty busy! There are plenty of nice coffee shops to choose from (2 Costa Coffees, a Cafe Republic, Ponti's, a Starbucks and a John Lewis cafe.) There are not many places to get hot food but plenty of sandwich places. For hot food, I recommend Ponti's, which does reasonably priced jacket potatoes, pasta, paninis and pizza dishes. The jacket potatoes are particularly good value as they are huge! They open until 9pm on Thursdays, which is a great time to hit the shops as they are all pretty quiet. read more

A very good shopping centre, I have only been to two others which top it, The Metro Centre and Meadowhall, although they are in a different category all together. There are a large range of shops catering to most tastes and some. My favourites are the large HMV and Virgin Stores. The only down sides are the food court is pretty much non existent now and the large windows in the ceiling, although nice, make it very hot during the summer read more

A great shopping centre in Watford with a great selection of shops, unfortunately a nightmare to get out of as the exit twists round and its usually busy come closing time. Great restuarants inside, would recommend a visit, over 140 shops. Late night opening is on Thursdays until 9pm. This is a great shopping centre, with a massive variety of different shops. I could easily spend the entire day there and have on many occasions! It can be a bit of a parking nightmare, as you end up going round the one way system a bit, but once you're there its great. There are a few good places to eat, and it can be a bit tricky to navigate round but once you've seen a map (which are located throughout) you'll be fine. read more

I like the Harlquin for clothes shopping, they have all the well know male and female stores like Oasis, Warehouse, River Island, Next, Kooki, Faith, Dorethy Perkins, Republic, Zara etc. I think it lacks in department stores, as all they have is a John Lewis - so i have struggles when Christmas present shopping. There arent that many places inside to grab some lunch but if you go out to the high street there are loads of chained places to grab some lunch - also you have your greggs, Macdonalds etc. Parking is never a problem (though on a one way rd so if you miss it, you have to go round again) but there are plenty of car parks. read more

A well sized mall in two parts and two floors housing all the usual places you would expect from Marks and Spencers' and John Lewis to Monsoon and La Senza and a lot of independant places for hair and beauty. There is also a cafe opposite Zara in the main section of the ground floor and next to it someone will thread your eyebrows in a few moments!Attached to the mall with entrances outside you will find Boots,Tony and Guy and Pizza Express one side, whereas the other end of the mall is Top Shop and several banks and take away food venues. unlike Brent Cross though the parking is extortionate and at christmas Watford becomes a hellish place to get in and out from. read more

Shopping Centre in Watford which is just outside London but still on the overground so not too bad to get to. It is a great shopping centre with all the usual high street stores and a selection of food courts as well a few chain coffee shops. There is a local high street right next to it which isn't technically part of the centre but it is an extension as it has chain restaurants, cafes, coffee shops etc. Can easily spend a day here just shopping and having lunch. If in the area worth popping in as it serves it purpose but not somewhere I would go out of my way for. read more

I'm a big fan of the Harlequin and often travel the distance there, even thouh Brent Cross is closer to where I live. It has large stores of all the main fashion chains - River Island, Zara, Topshop, H&M, and, most importantly, Primark. It is also a nicer place to be than Brent Cross - obviously it's just a shopping centre and I'm not trying to pretend that it's a feat of architectural creation, but it is a modern, clean and spacious place. The only draw-back would be that you have to pay for parking, and also that the car park can sometimes be a bit of nightmare to get in and out of, so go t an off-peak time if possible. read more

The watford harlequin shoppin centre is great. Its big and has pretty much every highstreet shop including new look, river island, topshop, hmv, pineapple, etc.. and a very big primark and m&s. There is a great variety of places to eat, and it is generally clean and a nice shopping mall. It also has its fair share of boutique stores too. It is pretty big also, so it's never TOO crowded, although it can get very full in the sales! It has two floors and a large carpark. read more

One of the better shopping centres I have been too, there are a variety of shops and plenty of parking although the car parks can get quite full. It doesn't get too crowded inside. I have found recently though there is not much of a food court anymore, there is not much of a choice for something to eat inside. The toilets downstairs have been recently updated and are very nice I think the same should be applied upstairs too. This is a wonderful shopping centre that offers everything that you could possibly want. there are lots of car parks located around the centre and they are all well lit and kept clean. A large John Lewis is the main draw, with various other stores including M&S, Next, BHS, waterstoes, Boots, WHS and many many more. There are various cafes and eating places. the toilets located in the centre are always well maintained. A great shopping mall that has everything you need. read more

This is a very nice shopping centre with around 150 shops. They are mainly high street and not independent shops but there is a good mix. The anchor is John Lewis and it also has a Marks and Spencer and large BHS. Parking is excellent (just £1 for the first hour, then £1.50, £2 etc) making it a very competitive choice against Oxford Street. Beware that match days (when Watford are playing) it can be difficult to park though. Disabled and buggy access is acceptable, there are lifts at three main points in the mall as well as in the major stores, however at busy times you can end up waiting in line for long periods while able-bodied people blithely use them! At Christmas the centre offers a lovely Santas Grotto - again queues may be long. read more

The Harlequin Centre is the main shopping precinct in Watford, Hertfordshire (NOT where Watford Gap is!!!!). Being Watford born and bred before heading to uni as well as an ex-employee of the centre, I thought I would share some of my knowledge!! Where is it? Watford is situated to the north of London and the Harlequin is in the town centre. To get to the shopping centre you can take junction 19 or 20 from the M25 or junction 5 from the M1 and follow the road signs to the town centre. The shopping centre is near to both Watford Junction and Watford High Street Stations, however is slightly closer to the High Street stop. Parking: Watford ring road surrounds the centre and there are 6 main car parks- Palace, Kings and Queens which are attatched to the centre and also Sutton, Church and Gade nearby on the High Street. Car parking is fairly expensive although there is a long stay option for £5 for the entire day. Car parks can get busy on a Saturdays, particularly if the football team are playing at home, so it can be difficult to get a space. Each car park level is a different colour, which is handy if you tend to be quite forgetful! Each car park also has two lifts, however these tend to get very busy and often aren't worth waiting for! read more

We were so lucky to find Trevor this afternoon at the Intu car park when we left the palace theatre only to find we had lost the car! He went to find the car, carried our shopping, helped with my wheelchair ,sorted out the ticket payment and even helped us through the barrier.
