I bought my RDX in August, 2016 from John Eagle Acura on Katy Fwy. I've done all my servicing and repairs at this location. There has been a huge shift in the Service Department with new ownership--poor Customer Service. I will no longer be doing business at this location and I certainly will never buy a vehicle from this location. Today I called for service appointment. I was informed the only appointment was at 7:30am. I asked what time my car would be ready--response if you stay it will be at top of list, if you drop off sometime in afternoon; we prioritize people who are waiting for their car. Me: okay so can I drop off at 830. Response no as the only open service assistant is 7:30. At this time I said never mind. Earlier this year I had a problem with battery. Called them and discussed. They failed to mention if I put their battery in there is no warranty on battery. My bad battery was not very old but they gave no credit. To top it off when you go there you always have to wait for service assistants to carry on their personal conversations before they wait on you. The new owners do not put Customer Service at the top. What a change from John Eagle. This location may be convenient but I will never use them or recommend just due to there very poor customer service. read more

We thought we were nearly done. It had been a long day of car shopping and I had texted our family to let them know we had made a deal on a car with a great salesperson, and that we would be on our way to pick up our daughter soon. Then everything went terribly wrong very quickly. We started the day at John Eagle first, looking at two 2015 Acura RDX models. Shannon Taylor was our sales rep, and we had explained that the reason for our purchase was to find a car that I could easily drive with my disability (I have rheumatoid arthritis). As we were leaving to look at a car at another dealership, he found another car, this one a 2016 that had been "just released from the loaner fleet". We loved it, but still wanted to look at the other car so we told him we would be in touch. Before leaving, TJ, a sales manager, showed us a price sheet. My husband noticed several added charges (ex: key replacement program, Nitrogen fill in tires, etc), so he told TJ we would not want any of those add ons. TJ said we could "waive" them if we chose their car. After seeing the other car, we called Shannon and confirmed that those extra charges would be waived. We said if he can do that, we were on our way to buy. He checked with TJ and told us he could do it and to come on over. He went over the price terms again, this time having us cross out all extra fees as agreed. We started filling out paperwork and they took the car back to get it detailed and ready to leave. As we were waiting, TJ came back to us and asked if we were financing with them, we said no, that we were paying cash. He then said, "Help me rationalize why we did this deal with you." We were confused, as we thought the deal was done. He then said he had reduced the price of those fees, but couldn't remove them as Shannon had agreed to. He said they had already reduced the price of the car for us because they had originally told us the wrong price, and they were honoring that lower price. My husband asked if they were honoring that, why they weren't honoring the deal we had made with Shannon. TJ said they couldn't do it. We asked to speak to a higher manager. At this time, Shannon came back over and confirmed to us that he thought we had a deal, that he was "under the same impression" that the fees were waived. At this point, another manager came out to tell us that the first error they made would be honored, but that "he would handle" the error that Shannon made with him at another time. We questioned why they wouldn't honor the entire deal, and reiterated that we left another dealership because of a promise their sales person had made on the phone. On principal, we were not going to accept these added fees stuck on at the end. Bottom line is we left without the car that we thought we had made a deal on. We will be contacting Acura to let them know about these "mandatory" fees that were added after the deal was made with Shannon. TJ demonstrated no integrity and soured the entire experience. I feel like they knew about my disability and our situation and tried to use it to their advantage. By the way, I called the number below 2 days ago. No response yet...seems that they only want it to look like they care on Yelp. read more

This review is a reflection on the sales at this location, NOT the service. The sales people I dealt with totally employed bait-n-switch on my recent RDX purchase. They indicated I got free car wash and oil changes for life of the vehicle. I indicated there's an Acura dealer closer to me, but they said affirmed the cost of a full synthetic change was worth way more than the gas to get to them. When I went for my first oil change, they indicated I only get the oil change free if I have them service the vehicle, which costs $150 at 7,500 miles! No budging, despite the fact this was not the agreement at purchase. Additionally, the salesman indicated the traffic feature on my nav system was tied to XM. As long as I had XM radio, I would have traffic. He did not explain that traffic was extra with XM and is not a service included with radio. Though these are relatively small issues, I was lied to during the sales process. I'm now waiting for the other shoe to fall on larger, more important items. I will not buy a car from John Eagle again. read more

The name to remember is Seydou. Best buying experience two times in a row. Went in a few months back with my wife to lease a new RDX. Seydou made sure we got everything we wanted without having to pay for features we were not interested in. The car is great, but the buying (or should I say leasing) experience was excellent. Fast forward a few months down and I was tired of looking for parking for my F150 when I spotted a used Accord for sale that fit my current needs. I called Seydou and literally had my truck appraised higher than KBB, and walked out of there in under 90 minutes with my new to me ride. When you stop by, ask for Seydou and dont forget to get a mocha (or whatever your beverage of choice is) from the coffee machines. P.S. I think they bake cookies too read more

The price may be right, but the service and level of professionalism most definitely are not. I was told, upon initial phone call from Austin, that the car I wanted could not be delivered to me if I purchased it from them in Houston. I had no way to bring it back, as I was the only person driving my current car, and had no second driver to take with me. 10 minutes later they call and start wheeling and dealing. What a crock. These people are absolutely "car salesman" in the worst sense of the phrase. We haggled over price, delivery, and everything in between. We finally settled on the terms I had given up front after a ridiculous and lengthy negotiation involving one person who claimed to be a sales manager (but I found out belatedly was not). Purchasing the car was easy--surprise! They love to get you signing paperwork. I took care of all the essentials, purchased the extra warranty, and asked the salesman (who was completely incompetent and knew nothing about the car) to fax or mail over the original service information for the car, as it had all been completed at their dealership. It's been 4 months. Do I have that paperwork? Absolutely not. Two weeks after I purchased the car, one of the trim pieces came off. I had seen it popped up a day or two after buying the car, popped it back on, and assumed it would be fine. That's what the "Acura 114082930 point inspection" gets you. A car whose pieces fall off. When I called them to ask them to have the piece put back on, they told me I could pay to have it done. A $20 piece, and they can't stand behind the vehicle. Once you drive it off the lot, it's your problem. I hadn't even done anything to cause the piece to fall off--legitimately, I treat my car very well. I went through 10 phone calls bouncing between the original salesperson I worked with and his actual manager, only to have most of the calls not returned or transferred to someone without authority. I am appalled at my experience with John Eagle Acura. Never again will I purchase a car from them, nor recommend them to any of my friends or family in Houston. read more

I would title the dealership as OK. My salesperson was absolutely fantastic when I bought my car in 2009, and continues to go out of his way to help me any way he can even today. The finance manager, on the other hand, was a pushy pain in the backside, trying to get you to buy every supplimental, non Acura, dealer option under the sun: windshield, tire, extended warranty, paint and chip, dent repair. You finally ended up caving just to get away from the man's office. (At this point I should have walked out and gone elsewhere). The service department does high quality work, and to their credit, I have never had to return twice. I do have a HUGE issue with the fact that even if you follow the service guidelines, and take your car in on a regular basis, they come back to use wanting to do some level of additional service (brake fluid flush, replace transmission fluid, new power steering fluid, etc.). In my 30 plus years of driving, I have never seen a car (with only 50K miles on it) need as many "preventative fluid changes" as this one. It is almost a lost cause to argue with your service tech, because they then come back to you and "well, I'm going to have to document that you refused a recommended service in the event you had a problem" making you feel threatened, and jeopardizing that high dollar extended warranty you got pushed into when you purchased the car. Unfortunately, my experiences at John Eagle will impact my decision to buy another Acura next year. If only I could take my salesman with me. read more

Be careful of these people. My son went in yesterday to buy his first car on his own and after 3 hours they told him he had bought it. No price or trade-in discussion. When he said he wasn't ready and needed to think about it, they informed him that his credit would be destroyed if he didn't follow through. What a bunch of crap. The hubs and I both purchased new cars in 2014. He got an RDX, and I got an MDX. The buying process was smooth and simple, and all the folks in the sales and financing departments were great. The service department... Not so much. We've had our cars serviced twice so far, and both times were trainwrecks. The process seems unnecessarily complicated (for the staff, even. Even they don't seem to understand it.). There's a different person who does every single step (check in, loaner car, cashier, car bringer-upper), and everything takes FOREVER. No one seems to communicate with anyone else. They quote you times for things, and then are so, so off. 3-5 minutes to get a loaner car turned into 30 minutes and us having to get a little snippy before they actually did anything. Before heading back to the dealership a few hours later (as quoted by them), I called to see if my car was ready, and I was told it was. Got here. Nope. "Just about 15 more minutes," they said. Nope. 55 minutes and counting (I'm actually still waiting as I write this review). While I was waiting in line for my car that wasn't ready when I first got back after being told it was ready, I witnessed the cashier ask multiple porters where a specific vehicle was. Each porter shrugged. None of them knew where the keys or the car were. Then, the cashier handed a customer a set of keys as he paid for his service. "These aren't mine," he said, "They already gave me my keys." "Then whose are these?" the cashier asked the customer. He shrugged, and she turned to a couple of porters who shrugged and walked off. The cashier groaned, "Ughhhhh. THIS IS why we can't ever keep the cars and keys straight." I also heard 2 different customers come in and report that when they returned home after having their cars serviced, they found significant problems (like the rearview mirror holder thingy being broken and crudely affixed back to its original position). They brought their cars in to be serviced, and they left with newly damaged vehicles. Let that sink in. The staff are fairly friendly - with the exception of the porters. Although they don't really interact with customers, they're rude and unprofessional toward the other staff. That's the only good thing I have to say - that most of the staff, while entirely incompetent, are nice enough. In the future, I'll drive the additional distance to another Acura dealership. read more

This review is for their service department. We have a Acura MDX and we just got our 60k miles service done. After we picked up the car, few hours later "check battery" light came on. Next day we took it back to the service department and they wanted charge additional $140 for diagnostic and said it is probably the alternator which will be $900. All this after paying $550 for the 60k miles service. We left and went to Auto Zone to get the battery check. John Eagle Acura technician never put the cables on properly and Autozone tighten for free. I called back and complained to Derek and ask for a credit back on my service, they refused and said will call me in a day. It has been more than 3 days and no call back. Worst customer service and they try to sell you services which are not even recommended by Acura. read more

I made appointment last week to have my car serviced at John Eagle Acura. Appointment included the need for a loner car. After arriving promptly at 12:30, I waited 15 minutes for my assigned service tech while other service techs set in their seats with nothing to do. Very poor customer service to allow a customer to wait while others acknowledged and knew what I needed. What happened to the meet and greet at your vehicle when you pull into the service bay. I think they're just lazy - they can't help but see you when you drive up! Next, The assigned service tech and I meet at the vehicle - he does his pre-check, and we return to his desk. Then the big problem - no loaner cars. After asking, I find out I'm third in line for a loaner and no clue as to when a loaner will be back, much less three! I will now have my Acura serviced at Gillman Acura on I-45 North and since I'm in the market for a new one, looks like they'll get my new car business too. read more

I am totally not happy with this dealership. After, the crazy sales experience(a whole different story), I thought it would be ok since I am buying a certified used car from the actually dealership. I feel like everything they told me was nothing but lies. It started with the free oil changes that I NOW can only get when I do another form of service that starts out at A1 Maintenance of $132 or more. The oil change itself cost $110. WTH???? Really mad about this. I used to own a Honda and I loved their quick service, I thought it could only get better with Acura. I am going over my car documents now and apparently feel that they got over on me and will be contacting an attorney. read more

Service department is a complete joke. I recently bought my RDX in to have my sunroof fixed due to mechanical issues. A month later, the same issue is happening. Also went in to bring my car in for speaker issues, went to pick up my car after it was "fixed" only to drive off with the car making the same noise when I originally brought it to the shop. read more

Requested AC repair, 2 times they replaced the WRONG part & had to pay for it, their excuse: "Needed it anyway", 3rd attempt fixed it & I still had to pay for the other unnecessary repairs... Now my car has same problem, took it in, was told $1,500! Immediately took it to another repair shop, they found 2 items DISCONNECTED!!! The radiator fan & the AC compressor!!! Took 30 minutes to bring me my car from service. I was treated so discourteous by any staff people (cashier, tech advisors, even the boy that goes and pull the cars). Ugh although I love my car, and the talk of great service any time you need it, haven't experienced that just yet. Hoping it'll get better, but two months later still going back and forth on charges they were supposed to take care of on the lease trade in. Each time they promise don't worry it's all taken care of and each month I continue to get a bill for the old car, which now says sending to a creditor. Today stopped in the dealer to see someone face to face. Hopefully it's taken care of, but just a lot of pointing fingers. While here thought I'd take advantage of the free car wash during lease of your car, 2 hours later and it's still not done and told it would be another twenty to thirty minutes to even get started. I went to this Acura dealership looking for a TL. J.R. or Junior was my sales rep. He did a great job helping me buy. He listened to what I wanted and worked hard to help me find a great car that fit exactly what I was looking for. If your looking for a great car, a good sales rep who is knowledgeable about cars and people, and a nice business manager to help finish the deal, then go to John Eagle Acura, ask for Junior as your sales rep, and Raheem (I believe) was a very good numbers guy. Terrible and I would give it no stars. Do not do a car deal with John Eagle. Run like hell. They sense desperation and see ya coming and they're like buzzards waiting for the kill. My best friend and I recently went and looked at their inventory and was assisted by Stephanie and we agreed and did back and forth number crunch and finally came up with an agreement so the numbers were as plain as day in black and white and they were witness to this. So Stephanie went to the back of the dealership leaving us waiting for hours closing the place down and causing a sweat. Next day I go without my friend in good faith to sign papers and do the deal thinking the numbers were the same. Came to find the loan numbers had changed without my knowing. John Ealge tacked on over $4000 for some extended warranty. I had actually agreed on $1000 for the warranty because they won't do the deal without it. Now I'm stuck with an ungodly interest rate and a car loan that I will most likely never be able to pay off or even pay down. It's a crying, dirty rotten shame. Josh Conry is the head of finance and he's very unprofessional because my friend and I tried calling him 4 times and we never got a call back from him. He talks a lot of nonsense. I bought my TL from John Eagle Acura in Nov. 2008. Purchased my car from Avery, I received the free oil changes with service and I have had no issues with it as my car is always in good working order. Took my mother with me in 2010 and she bought her car from them, they were both professional and efficient and she remains happy with her purchase. HOWEVER - I went in today for an oil change and someone in the service department pilfered $12 in change from my center console and I think that's pretty low. Otherwise, I still like JEA. Truly wish we had read all these negative reviews before we drove from San Antonio! Felt like I was back in the 70's with the sales tactics Erik and the sales Manager used! I turn to social media only because the co-owner doesn't feel that I am important enough to return my two messages. John Eagle Acura is a beautiful dealership but with not so beautiful employees, me and my mother had been interested in a brand new white with espresso RDX 2020 we went in for 2 test drives and set the expectation of where we wanted to be at when it came to price of car and monthly payments, for what we were asking for, we thought was very attainable especially since we were going to trade a car in which they were going to appraise for 2k and were also going to add a 5k deposit on top of that, the salesman David new from the beginning where we wanted to be at so my mother and I went the 3rd time to go finalise the deal but when we got to finance we were hit with a 580 car payment by itself not including gap insurance or anything with a 6.55 APR we were shocked because we had the good credit, when we asked why so high the rude finance manager Kevin looked at both us like if we were crazy and said it was because of our credit and said that it didn't matter if we had a 800+ credit score its impossible to have a car payment under 550 a month for that RDX, we were humiliated and left the dealership, little do y'all know we went to Gillman Acura on the north side drove an hour away and were able to get that same car for 484 a month with gap insurance and maintenance with a 0.90 APR and the car came out to 35k after taxes, I don't know what John eagle got going on here but they got a lot of funny business here DO NOT COME TO JOHN EAGLE ACURA unless you want to waste your money GO TO GILLMAN ACURA IN THE NORTHSIDE AND ASK FOR APRIL PORTER she helped us out and got us rolling out of there with a new car in under 2 hours tell them DERIK LARIOS sent you. read more

I bought my car here 4 years ago and their service was always great. I recently moved back to Houston and went to get my car serviced today. Set up an appointment online, I get there and waited for 15 minutes without even a greeting from anyone. I asked the receptionist who I needed to talk to to check in for my appointment and she pointed to all empty desks. I get that a place can be busy but when you aren't even acknowledged at a place you are trying to do business with, it shows lack of customer service and is the first thing a person is going to remember. I left the dealership and cancelled my appointment. Very disappointed. The dealership in Tempe, AZ treated everyone like they were the most important person there. read more

Is always friendly and helpful and on more than one occasion has gone above and beyond to make sure my J.E. Acura experience was satisfactory . Bradley B. Is also great as well as the rest of the service the team. Usually there is this adorable young lady (Esther ) greeting everyone to make sure they are ok or see if they need a drink. If I purchase another Acura , it will be from John Eagle because of the service department . Why only 4 stars? Well the ladies restroom has been disheveled on more than one occasion and I really wish they had gluten free pastry items as well as some fresh squeezed OJ :) read more

I thought my TL had a blown head gasket, and took it up to John Eagle because it was still under warranty. The service coordinator, Eric, was quick about getting my car in, listening to the problems I was having, and getting me in a loaner and out the door. The next day, Eric called and said that it did NOT blow a head gasket, it only had a bad radiator cap! Also, it had been running a little rough, and he said it was only the spark plugs needed changing. Since my husband used to be an ASE certified mechanic, we knew he could do the work cheaper than Acura (that stuff wasn't covered by warranty) so I told Eric we'd come get the car. We owed $140 for the diagnostic fee and drove home. The car drove WAY better than it did when we dropped it off and when we got home, my husband discovered that they had replaced the radiator cap AND one of the spark plugs, and hadn't charged us for any of it! Now THAT is service! That's what keeps people coming back. Excellent work John Eagle Acura! No wonder you're #1! read more

I've purchased 3 cars from John Eagle Acura now. I first bought a 2010 TL for my wife and bc the experience was so good and the car performed so admirably I went back and bought a 2013 TL for my wife and then one for myself. I seriously consider the Audi product, but a nearby dealership tried to put one over on me with the TL I was considering giving back to them. None of that gamesmanship at John Eagle Acura. Fast (in general terms)--car buying takes some time. It's a lot like house buying in that regard, but these guys advised well, it's a really nice facility, they have WiFI connectivity. I go there for oil changes and car maintenance. All and all a really great place. read more

They also notified me of the dreadful future work that I Need done on my car, but also answerd my questions and was quick to not freak me out saying I needed it right away. I leased a car for my daughter during her time in college. She got her degree and began your career. I was excited that she wanted to buy the car she had and knew that Acura would give her a Great Experience as we have had several. Upon arriving at Acura of I-10, we found out that our salesman had been let go and the store had been sold. Immediately, they began with adding fees and more fees to the point that they could not answer any of our questions. The Sales Manager Margaret Houng was summoned and she couldn't of cared less whether we got help or not. You see, my daughter only put 17k miles in three years on her car and they would of made a killing re-selling it. I went so that my daughter could have a wonderful experience buying her first car and instead was met with a bunch of people who could not care less. What they did not know was that as soon as my daughter would buy the car, I was going to purchase a TLX that they had in the showroom. It's a shame what has happened to this store. They traded in experienced compassionate sales man and owner for self indulged individuals. i called Alice Wong, the GM and never received a call back. Disappointed to learn we cannot trust the service department. We have used them for years but on the last visit we were told we needed a new battery and several other things. We did not get the battery but went to a separate battery dealer and were told the battery was in very good condition and had probably two years left on it. All of the cells were good and it had almost 90% of its full amperage. Now we wonder how many other things we paid to have done that were not needed. With auto service, you really only have trust to go on and now that is gone. read more

I bought my car a few years ago and always take it here to get serviced. Over the years this place has had its ups and downs - sometimes great quick service, other times I'm waiting there for over 1.5 hours for just an oil change and car wash. Lately, I feel like they've gotten a lot better with service. Very professional. I can book an appointment, get a loaner car if necessary, and get in and out fairly quickly. My favorite service rep is Bruce. Hope he stays there forever because he always takes good care of me and my car! read more

Purchased vehicle in Sept. 2020 still have not received permanent registration and license plates. Contacted sales manager and General manager. No explanation from anyone. I bought certified MXD 2017 early this year, everything was good. Then I went for my first service call last weak and I had a very bad experience. The representatives were rude and ill informed. I do not want to put all the detail on here, but i have to argue with them to check something in my car and they were reluctance to do it unless i agree to pay, where as I am 100% covered by policy. Finally they came back, said sorry to me and looked at the issue. I had Audi Q7 before MDX and I am kind of spoiled by there(AUDI) pristine service,gentlemen behavior. ( there loaner car process was so simple, here at Acura you have to give your CC details , they will deduct money if they see a dent from my CC ..really :| ) Dealing with service guys@ACURA, who are overloaded with work,is as a new experience for me that left a bad taste to remember. I think, I should having considered the factor that there is only one Acura service center, before buying MDX. :| Just something to keep in mind for future buys.. read more

BEWARE OF THE BAIT-AND-SWITCH! DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR LIES! I was promised one price on the lease of a TLX around 5 times over the course of two days. Then when it came time to sign the paperwork, they tried to jack up the price. The agreed upon price was confirmed to me over the phone twice by Dasmine, who confirmed the price w/ her Sales Manager. When I went to the dealership, that same price was confirmed by both the salesman (Juan aka Pete) and his Manager (Charles). I asked for a day to think it over, which they did not have a problem with. I called later to ask about pricing specifics (i.e. selling price, taxes, etc.) and was told by Pete that Wil would reach out to me, but he never did. The next day I went back to the dealership to sign the paperwork and pick up the car. I was forced to wait over an hour before anyone even came over to me (despite the fact I had to make an appointment). Pete finally came over to speak with me, at which point I let him know I was ready to start signing the paperwork and take the car home. He disappeared into the sales office for another 30 minutes, then he came back out and said that they could not do the lease at the price they had originally told me. They then tried to raise the lease price over $150 from the agreed upon price. Pete and another guy named German blamed the "mix up" on Wil. It was the worst experience I've ever had at a car dealership.
