Loved coming to Joe's until Mikaka? served me with a disgusting filthy cup after being a frequent customer for years. What's weird is that she either noticed it and was too lazy to change it and noticed it and served it to me anyway. What's even more strange is that when she set the mug down on the table, the lipstick stain was facing her so I'm not quite sure how a pink stain on a solid cream colored ceramic mug isn't noticeable especially if she has been in the service industry for so long. She has been our waitress since we have been customers there and one would think being a frequent customer, she would be a little more attentive but no, she could care less as she provides the least amount of service as possible. The food is great but if the service is subpar, there's no reason why I should spend my hardearned money there. Mind you, all the other wait staff is great, especially Katie! We haven't seen her in awhile but since this visit was so disappointing, we will not be back. read more

Not a bad breakfast. Been hearing about this place for years and finally decided to eat here. Very much a diner from the look and atmosphere, which is not a bad thing. You seat yourself. We got here early so it wasn't too busy. Huge menu with a ton of great options. Ordered the two eggs, bacon and biscuit. Food came out super fast and was very good. A bit pricey for what I got but everything is expensive these days. Will come back again, just not sure it is my new go to for breakfast... maybe the next time will change that. read more

This is a great breakfast location. We loved the spaciousness and the ambience and the servers were very friendly and efficient. Joe makes his own jam. I had the strawberry and it was very tasty. Their infamous chorizo gravy still smacks. The only thing that could rival their food is the quality of service from Joe, Joan, and the rest of the staff. ___EXTRA INFO___ I've been so enamored with their chorizo gravy that apparently I neglected to try their pancakes. I have been missing out! Joan brought out this beautifully fluffy pancake with an awesome assortment of jams they make themselves. It was delicious. Used to have best fish in Phoenix on fridays. Light batter, crispy, flaky but not greasy. Changed cooks, fish or something. Not worth it now. Have gotten it twice now since it changed. Love the feel of this little place! Mom and pop type threads spoon feel. But then the menus came. It was $18 for a bacon cheeseburger with fries!!! WHOA! And no kids menus so we were forced to pay that for our little who took 2 bites. The service was good and fast and the servers and back waiters were all very nice. No complaints there. We had to take to go boxes cause of our leftovers. Other disappointment was the waffle my older daughter ordered: it was COVERED in the saucy type strawberries, so much so that it leaked all the way through and was soggy by the time she tried to eat it. Omg, these are really the best pancakes in the world. I got the corned beef hash and substituted a pancake for the biscuit and gravy. I regret not getting a stack of pancakes to go. Our waitress was amazing, super friendly and was always there to top off your coffee. Don't even get me started on the syrup at the table, it was amazing also, light and so full of flavor. Decided to try something local and took the path less traveled when it comes to places I most frequent when not traveling. The place is overall spacious and private for those who'd like to visit with a date or Right off the top, the coffee was not great and it took a solid 10 or so minutes to get a refill. The place closes at 2pm and it was not super busy being MLK day. On a better note...the menu has lots of items to choose from and although pricey but a good selection. I decided to try the chicken fried chicken and eggs today (let's see if the portion matches the almost $20.00 price) F.Y.I. Pancake lovers...$9.99 for a short stack plus $2.99 for toppings. Does not include the not so great tasting coffee. The food was good, the country potatoes where delicious and the chicken fried chicken was well cooked n crispy...the sausage gravy was bland. The service was a bit slow for such an empty place but we enjoyed visiting a new place. I would definitely return and recommend you trying this place out. Delicious Comfort Food I have passed by Joe's dozens of times; however, today was my first time stopping in, but it won't be my last. I am a fan of eating at non-chain locally owned restaurants, and Joe's has now become one of my favorite breakfast spots. Joe's restraunt is clean, welcoming, and full of nostalgia. I really enjoyed just looking around. Even though the restaurant was full, we were seated quickly, and our server gave us our menus and served our drinks quickly. On this visit, we ordered the pancakes, french toast, biscuits & gravy, and potatoes, and everything was delicious. The pancakes and french toast were some of the best I've had in a long time, and the serving portions at Joe's are more than generous. You're not going to leave Joe's hungry. Let me start with the service...it was fantastic! Everyone was so nice and friendly, it was a great start to my Sunday! The ambience is so cute and there's plenty of parking. I went in to get my order to go, I got biscuits and gravy and croissant breakfast sandwich. It literally took 2 minutes to come out. I got home and plated my mom's biscuits and gravy which was amazing! By far the best I've ever had. Fluffy biscuit, and they gave me plenty of gravy which had the perfect texture. The potato's were surprisingly good too.(not a big breakfast potato fan) but this is why I gave them 4 stars. Clearly the croissant sandwich was a terrible thing to get to go because it was sooo soggy. And there was so much grease it was inedible. I will definitely be back for the biscuits and gravy and try other things. I strongly suggest you don't get the breakfast croissant sandwich, at least to go. read more

I'm a fan! I get to come here occasionally with my friends who live nearby and they have great taste! The offerings on the menu are so good that it's hard to choose what to order. I saw Joe's promoted on Channel 3 news the week of July 4th. We tried it on Sunday. Cool looking inside-we sat next to a non-functioning juke box. How cool would "that" have been, IF it worked?! Nice waitress, did the minimal waitress duties. I asked if the juke box WORKED, and she said, "no." I see where Mr. Joe said it DID. Maybe he'd better inform his employees?! ANY business owner who responds to a review of mine like Mr, Joe immediately did, needs to take a deep look into their psyche & question WHY they over-reacted so viciously, so fast! All it was, was "my opinion" of his restaurant--isn't that WHY they "have" reviews?! Grow UP Mr. Joe, take a deep breath, and swallow. It's ONLY a truthful review, about the experience my husband and I had!!!--NOT the whole city of Phoenix! "My" opinion...I thought the food was CRAZY expensive! EVERYTHING! It was maybe 50% full on a Sunday morning. That time of day places are usually packed! I got an eggplant omelet, tasty BUT...looked for eggplant pieces, never found them. I "ALWAYS" butter my biscuits/pancakes as soon as they arrive, so the butter is melted. I saved my biscuit until last so the butter would melt-it never did. I had to ask to have it microwaved. That must mean it wasn't REAL butter. The butter on the pancake I could deal with-I just poured IMITATION syrup over it. (They HAVE pure maple syrup but they charge you extra!) There's soooo many GREAT places to eat, WHY pay high prices for under-par food?! SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!! read more

The couple that own it are super friendly, they make their own jam and the biscuits are incredible. We went for Father's Day! Everyone was so nice and so excited to celebrate all the dads in the restaurant. The staff fawned over our infant son. Breakfast was amazing! Most delicious pancakes I've ever had. Bacon was thick and juicy, lean too. Eggs cooked to perfection and sausage patties yummy! I had the fresh maple syrup which was superb. My family and I have eaten at Joe's Diner a few times and the food was good. The last time I was there I was having breakfast with a friend. We enjoyed the food and were talking. **Suddenly the Owner came to our table, asked about the meal, then said we had been sitting there too long and that we should leave to free up our table!!**We were shocked and embarrassed!!
