So I went to Joes the first day they opened and unfortunately they were sold out which was disappointing. The store is small and right next to the glenview metra /Amtrak station( which is great for all you commuters who didn't get a chance to get there coffee or breakfast). Parking kind of stinks cause the parking lot maybe fits three cars and there's a few street parking spots but it's not great. My husband went in on the weekend and got us some donuts. He got some sprinkled donuts, chocolate glazed, yeast glazed donut, and red velvet donut. They were all pretty tasty. I'm excited we finally have a donut place that's not Dunkin' Donuts in the area. I really liked the donuts but they weren't the best I've had. They have different variations and flavors of donuts which is awesome. Still this place is really good and if you have a craving for a yummy donut make sure you check it out! I didn't get a chance to try out the coffee but will check it out soon! read more

Fancy donuts. Their old fashioned styles are the highlight for me, both pistachio and the lemon ones are awesome. Even with the creative options this place offers, my kids still want standard chocolate long johns or chocolate frosting with sprinkles. These basics are average here and my kids don't prefer them to Dunkin or Heinen's donuts. So the big question is: do you want to pay higher prices for your kids standard donuts to get a high quality donut for yourself? I'm giving five stars because joe donut has a high quality product that I don't mind spending extra to support a local business. read more

Bummer for me, deathly allergic to pistachios, so couldn't experience the donuts - who needs the calories anyway, but my 11 year old gave it a decent review. He wouldn't go back again and again, said he would need his Dunkin fix, and not as good as Glazed and Confused, but he did like and is happy to have a good donut place in Glenview! My only issue - the service. The manager yelling at the kids behind the counter, who were clearly doing their job or trying to was awful. Made it what should be a fun experience-- a little stressful at 7 am in the morning. Perhaps he was a little nervous nelly about not wanting to get the lines long, as the guy in front of us was ordering a few dozen, but still. Too many staff behind a tall counter too, poor little kids ordering can barely see the workers. Simple solution, have a staff person in front of the counter, greeting, telling people where to line up, welcoming, helping order, chatting with customers, etc - would make for a much better experience. I'll give it another shot, but today was just meh.... PS They did say the Pistachio donut (which was sitting in the same cabinet as other donuts) for all you parents with kids who have tree nut allergies, would not be on the menu forever, ie the types will change from time to time so am guessing you can call ahead to see what they have. read more

This Truly THE Most Amazing dounuts I have ever tried in many Many years! Perfection!!!! Oil used is fresh.. no stale oil taste or funky burn from crap oil. Stunning flavors bursting...strawberry Glaze taste like Actual Strawberries! The old fashion ...omg! Best chocolate frosting.. a bit of dark with some milk chocolate for perfect balance... Nestled in a can't-miss location between the Glenview metra station and the library, this little joint is the bomb! From my first bite of sea salt caramel toffee old-fashioned I was hooked. On several subsequent visits, finding them closed in the middle of the afternoon I was mighty bummed, thinking they'd suddenly gone under. But it turned out they'd sold out of donuts. The coffee is so-so, if you're very selective about coffee I'd say spend your coffee money on another donut and get coffee somewhere else. Key is, get there early- ya snooze, ya lose! read more

Arrived at 9:30ish and there were only 6 kinds left. Got pistachio old fashioned, lemon poppyseed old fashioned and an red velvet cake. All sub-par, tasted anything but fresh (think soft crust) and lacked flavor (the only thing that made the pistachio donuts taste pistachio was the little crumbled nuts on top). Incredibly disappointed since I had been wanting to try this place forever. Employees were also pretty rude. Save yourself the time and money and head to Stan's or Wheeling Donuts. read more

Irresistible!!!! These donuts are irresistible! I always go there with a specific plan to get one or two and end up getting a half a dozen or more and that is simply because all of them look and taste absolutely delicious. I also like the cozy atmosphere, it seems like everything is in it's own place,and even though the whole donut shop has small footprint , it feels spacious inside. Freshly brewed coffee and espresso based drinks are also available . Staff is friendly and helpful, I am so glad there's finally an alternative to the rest of the basic donut shops out there! read more

These donuts are really amazing!! We usually go Wicker Park for our donuts but since these are so close to home we'll be coming here more often. I love the old fashioned donuts! The perfect amount of glaze, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The salted caramel glaze is my favorite. The pistachio, chocolate, and vanilla glaze are great too. Finally! A donut place worthy of the city opened in the suburbs!! I have been waiting for this ever since I was introduced to Stans' Donuts and the like in the city. I tried the red velvet and the lemon curd fluff - both are good, personally the red velvet is my favorite. It was so well balanced in sweetness and had the perfect cream cheese frosting/cake ratio. I work about 5 minutes away and I was craving something yummy before work. I grabbed my usual Starbucks but I wanted something different to go with it. I found this place on my iPhone maps and the pictures and reviews drew me to it. Super small shop but they get you in and out and they have cute outdoor seating. There is street parking and it's located right by downtown Glenview. The variety of doughnuts is amazing! - and they're all amazing, honestly...amazing. I am very impressed. Their prices are great as well! I got 9 fancy, yummy doughnuts for $13! The only reason that I am giving the 4/5 stars is because the staff is very nonchalant. They take your order, process your payment, and that's about it. I understand that they are busy and the service needs to be quick but they almost have blank stares on their faces. Otherwise - amazing place!! The food is definitely 5/5 stars!! They also have coffee and lattes but I didn't try any of those. Sorry Joe Donut but I'm going to have to tear you a new "donut hole" regarding your restaurant. I had the chicken biscuit, it was about 90% biscuit and the rest was an extremely thin piece of fried chicken. Your breakfast potatoes - I'm not even quite sure what they are. The place has street parking or a small parking lot. You should go when they first open because they usually finish all their donuts before 3pm especially when it's during the weekdays! I got the pistachio donut and it was delicious. Also, the red velvet one was the best. My favorite from Joe's. The place is pretty small. Not a place to study. I've been to Joe Donut three times now. Each time, when I walked in I was hit with an overwhelming smell of industrial cleaning solution. All I can review are the donuts, because we didn't get coffee and the hubs went to retrieve them. But damn, they were good. I sampled the red velvet, maple bacon, and s'mores. Red velvet was yummy, and the maple bacon was too. The s'mores I could have done without. I feel like it should be a filled donut rather than a chocolate glazed old fashioned with marshmallow on top, but maybe that's just me. FINALLY a fancy donut place in the burbs. Chicago offers so many varieties (firecakes, glazed & infused, do-rite, etc.) it's nice to see a similar place pop up in this area. These donuts are full in flavor and soooo delicious. They have a deal of 6 donuts for $10 (5 classic styles and 1 that's called a "show off" style that is more unique like red velvet, s'more, or pb&j). Worth it!!!!!! read more
