Amazing donuts!! Being new to the area I chose to go local for national donut day and landed on duck, so glad I did! Walking in they were super kind and friendly, and the smell of fresh donuts in the air is a great way to start the day. They let me know the specials of the day and gave me some suggestions, even gave me a free donut for the day! I like to have some options so I went with a half dozen, my favorite were maple bacon, strawberry shortcake and blueberry streusel! I also grabbed a salted Carmel cold brew with it which was a nice addition! The donuts were prepared right in front of me, sooo great to see and there's nothing better than being handed a warm box of treats to take home! Will be returning soon!!!! read more

Came here to pick up some donuts for my family. The store is in a good location with plenty of parking. They've got indoor and outdoor seating. I walked in and there was only one other costumer so they took my order quickly. I ordered the Breakfast Dozen. Each and every donut was made fresh to order which made the that much more enjoyable! My favorites were the Peanut Butter Fluff, Coffee Cake, French Toast and Blueberry Streusel. All.the donuts were delicious but these four were my favorite with pronounced flavors that werent too sweet and yet well balanced! I'll definitely be back to try the other boxes. read more

GREAT experience! The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and ambiance was small and pleasant. We went here while visiting my son who graduated from the Navy. It was my birthday and we wanted something other than a cake. We never been to a Duck Donuts so we decided to try it. We are so glad that we did. The donuts are made fresh and you can really tell the difference. They were beautiful and delicious. I would come back if I were visiting Illinois, but since we have one here in Las Vegas, I guess I will check this one out and see how it measures up. I came to visit my son for his boot camp graduation, and he told me Duck Donuts was the best spot around--his RDCs had brought him some, and he couldn't stop talking about them. Naturally, we had to stop at a location on our way into Chicago, and I'm so glad we did! This is what I call a real donut experience. The batter is made fresh, the donuts come out hot, and then they're decorated and frosted to order right in front of you. These aren't grab-and-go donuts you eat in the car, you sit down and enjoy them, maybe even with a knife and fork. The shop had a nice outside deck and even a window where you can watch the donuts being made. There were so many fun flavor combinations, and everything we tried was phenomenal. The price was right on point, the service was fast, and the workers were very friendly, which made the whole visit even better. I later looked them up and saw they have a few locations in California, and I can't wait to visit those, too. Thank you, Duck Donuts, for such a sweet surprise! read more

Not a great first impression to be honest. Stopped in while I was in the area to check out this little shop. It's a nice little stop with inside seating and outside seating. They also have a window so you can watch how the doughnuts are made from start to finish. It's pretty fun for the littles. I asked the young lady who took my order what she recommended, and she suggested the Maple Bacon or the Sunrise. I did decide to order the Maple Bacon, and the other I ordered was on the Mother's Day specials and named Chocolate Glitz. They were served hot, and I'm certain they are probably delicious warm. I was on my way to an event and did not take the opportunity to try them until I got home. At which time everyone said they weren't anything too special. I believe they were having some issue as they were tossing a handful of more dough rings. Also, when I asked, after waiting some time, if they were working on my I was told "No, we're working on an Uber order." Hmmmmm ..... not the best answer for the wait time frame I had there. It took about 15 minutes. I wish my photos were more clear, but it works. Also, there is certainly a need to update those flier menus as that isn't a great look. I ran to the washroom and heard one of the girls say "there she is"... lol. Not sure what that was about. I eventually got my donuts and made it to the event on time. So all is well. Would I try again at a later time. Probably. I would like to know how they taste fresh and warm. read more

Having lived out east and had local Duck Donuts close by, there was a void in my life after moving back here....at least that's what I thought, when thinking about donuts. Loved these donuts and whenever in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, woukd stop in the town of Duck for these donuts. A friend told me that there were shops out here and even one in Libertyville! I've been saved!!! Life is great again! These are life changing donuts!! read more

A-OK. TLDR version: donuts are over fried for my liking. Tried a donut ice cream sandwich and cookies 'n cream donut sundae, $5 each. Cool that you can watch the donuts being fried to order in the window. It's all the same batter base, and the distinction between offerings is on the frosting and toppings. read more

$17.50 for 6 donuts... was surprised to learn I'd have to wait for them to be made to order. After a long wait, got the donuts. They are goopy sticky nonsense, inedibly bad. The frosting is DISGUSTING and 99% sugar. Ended up throwing away the whole box. Overpriced garbage, a gimmick shop. Gas stations serve better donuts. If you have to eat it with a fork, it's not a donut. It's a failure. read more

I first tried Duck Donuts at Mall of America so I was very excited when I came across this one. It smells so good inside! They have a pet friendly outdoor patio. I ordered a half dozen box which cost about $15. There is a window where you can watch the donuts being cooked, and when the toppings are added. The donuts are delightful! read more

What the Duck Donuts are made hot and fresh to order with many toppings and flavors. A gimmick, sure, but you can order just one donut if you want, and they'll add your topping. There's something about a hot, just fried donut that is unbeatable in its simplicity and taste that is just as good as one of the fancy donuts. I just wanted a cinnamon sugar donut, basic I know, and it went great with my coffee. You can also order an ice cream donut, coffee drinks and shakes. This is fun to stop in for a treat, or watch your donuts being made through the window. read more

I grew up going to the Outer Banks and Duck donuts is a bustling well oiled machine in Duck, NC. This shop is nothing like the original. I preordered the donuts so they were waiting but it took about 15 minutes to get a latte and a lukewarm coffee. And there was no one in front of us. This was prime time 10:30am on a Sunday. Finally got to try duck donuts!! I was excited about it when it opened, and never got a chance to check it out. There are a variety of flavors to choose, all made fresh. I like that you have the option of ordering however many you like. My sister and I placed our order for a s'mores donut and a coffee cake donut and they came out fresh about 5 minutes later. My s'mores donut was good, but too sweet for my liking. I was happy to try this, but it not something I'd be interested in coming back to. It is not my favorite donut ever, but fun to try. read more

Oh boy - what a fun experience this place is! There are so many options for toppings/combinations; but once you sort out your order, there are windows and a ledge to be able to watch your donuts be assembled. So fun for kids and adults alike. The donuts come out hot and fresh, ready to be eaten!! All of the flavor combinations utilize the same donut base, but the variety of toppings make each donut unique. Not much space to sit inside and eat, but there is a nice patio for when the weather is nice. read more

I had high hopes, but what I found was just mediocrity. They're fine for what they are. They're not great. They're not terrible. They are perfectly fine donuts. They are 5/10 donuts. They are the C, maybe C+ of donuts. The premise is they give you a hot, freshly made cake donut, and then top it with any of a number of choices for toppings. The problem comes with the donut being perfectly average. It's not a great donut to start, so the less-than-average toppings don't really help much. I'd go back, but I live in a town where Greenbush Bakery already exists and is a far superior donut. read more

Upon walking in I noticed how dirty this location was, it was very early in the morning so I fell like it should be clean. The staff seemed annoyed to be working and were not friendly. I wasn't aware prior to going in the donuts were made to order so it a long time to get my donuts. The bottom of the box was dirty. There was frosting on my car seats. Tried brushing it off but of course it could not be that easy. Because they made the donuts in the box the frosting melts and makes the donuts stick to the box making it difficult to pull them off the box and they end up breaking. On the plus side they tasted alright and looked ok This place is NOT worth it! read more

I finally had the chance to try Duck Donuts after hearing about them for a few months. I chose to do an online order, as I am ALL about convenience, and I appreciated the fact that there are so many customizable options and the online ordering process is a breeze!! I chose my own flavors, and ordered 2 dozen donuts for an event. Everyone loved the donuts and raved about the unique combos. Reasonably priced as well. DD's has a parking lot so no need to search for nearby parking, which we ALL know can be a headache on the weekends in downtown Libertyville. They also have a patio for warmer months, which I fully intend on taking advantage of soon! read more

This is a newish gourmet donut shop a bit hidden but very close to downtown Libertyville. There are a TON of options to choose from and it was difficult to decide. I think it's a great place to take kids for a weekend treat. There is also a nice patio outside to enjoy a donut on warmer days, which is shared with the Wicked Egg restaurant. There are more classic donuts along with more deluxe options with interesting toppings. The staff here are very friendly and made recommendations. I got a blueberry one, and it was so hot and fresh that the icing melted. I liked the fruity flavor overall but it was a bit too sweet and was a little pricier than most other places I've seen. Also wasn't a fan of the aftertaste. read more

This was a fun donut experience. The donuts are made fresh in front of you. It was fun to look through all the flavors and for the most part they were all delicious. They didn't warm up great the next day, so I'd definitely suggest finishing what you order right then and there. Our drinks took a bit of extra time to get ready. Got the strawberry shortcake and peanut butter Oreo one and both were so good! Lots of frosting if you're into that. Plenty of flavors to choose from and you can watch it be made. Staff was very friendly and helpful when I asked for suggestions. Donuts come out warm and fresh. Right around the corner from the downtown strip! I first discovered DD out in the Carolinas in 2022. I was out there for a music festival with some friends and ordered them as a surprise. We absolutely loved them and I was thrilled to discover this location upon arriving home. This was the first time since that trip that I'd actually had an opportunity to try them and I was not disappointed. The unlimited or seemingly unlimited number of combinations that you can create is wonderful! They definitely have something for everybody! They do offer Savory sandwich options if you don't have a sweet tooth, but they're definitely hard to resist. You also have an option to add a random rubber ducky to your order and they nailed it on the head with the one that they sent for me! Whether you're in the area or a little bit far away they're definitely worth the drive or the price of your Uber Eats order! So DUCKING good! read more

Breaking with tradition on Fat Tuesday, I decided a Paczki wouldn't do for breakfast! Today, it's donuts... Duck, North Carolina-style. Super-fresh, warm and topped, generously, with the best ingredients! If only the peanuts and bacon stayed where they were supposed to! Hahaha! Bacon does make everything better. The Blueberry-lemonade was the best! Or was it the Oreo Chocolate Explosion? All were fresh, warm and made with love ! I need to go back and try some others as the selection is pretty large. The staff was doing some register training, stopped to welcome me and gave me, a first-time visitor, some great customer service! Explaining the history and lore of the founding of Duck Donuts, and walking me through the app/rewards program, the staff did a great job. Kudos to the manager--she's training her staff right! And with a great product like these fresh donuts, Libertyville should stop in and stop in regularly, for coffee and the freshest donuts in town! read more

I arrived early to beat a rush but there was already a rush, which only means the donuts are wonderful! The staff behind the counters where you can enthusiastically watch them make each donut move as quickly as possible while not moving too quickly to mess up the sweetness that will soon hit your tastebuds. I honestly thought 1/2 dozen would be enough but like so many other things, the idea of "I wish I would have got more" hit my head when I arrived home. Duck Donuts is our new donut spot moving forward. I enjoyed all of them ( see photo of my selection) but the blue berry pancake was my favorite. read more

Wheelchair accessible, go in the door to the right of their front door- at first I thought it was not accessible. I usually like glazed raised donuts- but these were fantastic! read more

I finally got the chance to check out this place. My sister-in-law has been raving about it for months. I'm not a fan of donuts. So I looked at the website t o see if anything peaked my interest. There were so many varieties. The pina colada is what drew me in. I dragged my Son, DiL and grandkids with me. We ordered a 1/2 dz and regretted not ordering a full dz. The donuts were fresh, warm and so tasty. I didn't want to share my pina colada. I also tried the maple bacon. It was sooo good. It's located on a Libertyville. If you been to the downtown area you know that parking is limited. They do have a parking lot in the back and a few tables to sit down and enjoy a sweet treat. The staff was nice. Oh and there's a stepping ledge for kids (or vertically challenged individuals) to view how these tasty morsels are made. Highly recommend. read more

I love this place!!! I go every month because the maple & bacon donut is literally the best donut I've ever had, honestly. They always have the best assortments and I love that it is made fresh for every order so the donuts are not just surround around. Perfect location surround by a lot of other restaurants in downtown libertyville. It's small in there but they have a nice patio outside that you can sit and enjoy! I will almost always pick black coffee over lattes, cappuccinos, and other classic combinations that would potentially mask the flavor notes of good quality coffee. The exceptions are specialty coffee drinks that have some unique combination of ingredients (aside from just different syrup flavors). But even then, I admit I'm a bit wary of having tried many cafes where these specialty drinks end up being too sweet. I've passed by Cherry & Coffee Cafe many times in Hawthorn mall in the past without giving it a second thought because of the very thing I mentioned above - likening it to cafes with overly sweet drinks. On this particular day, which happened to be Father's Day, I was in the area and looking for something caffeinated in the afternoon. I happened to glance at Cherry & Coffee Cafe's menu on google and saw something called "Black Forest Coffee", which was described as being made with chocolate syrup and maraschino cherries. This sounded intriguing enough that I ventured over to give it a shot. It somehow didn't click in my mind that this wasn't black coffee (I had interpreted/misread the description as having notes of chocolate and cherry). It finally hit me when I was ordering my drink and the barista asked me which milk I wanted (it's also quite possible I got confused because "coffee" was in the name instead of "latte"). I decided to go ahead with my order anyway since I had already made the trip over. Long story short, I was VERY surprised that the Black Forest Coffee drink was both not too sweet and quite good! My wife is especially picky with sugar levels (think Kung Fu Tea's milk tea with 0% sugar because she thinks the boba already adds enough sugar) and even she enjoyed it. So thanks to this happy accident, I think I will be back in the future to try their other offerings!
