We stopped by thinking the seating area was larger, they do have 6-7 small round tables, which worked fine for our party. This cute little spot is brightly colored and staff were friendly and helpful. Samples are available for the gelato so take a leap and try something new. I was offered the hazelnut, which I normally do not get, and after suggesting to add nuts for the topping, I'm happy I did. We tried the puffy pastry with vanilla pudding, we both agreed it was tasty and super sweet. Kids got the jello magic and even for them they could not finish it in one sitting. Castemila Coffee was delightful! It was a wonderful blend of coffee and sweetness of gelato! I would absolutely order it again. The lemon Gelato was very tart and made me pucker. I love lemon flavored things-- so I enjoyed it even though my crinkled face probably didn't show it! The mango didn't taste like mango to me. It tasted like it was artificially "flavored" mango-- it didn't have a distinct flavor of the fruit mango nor actual chunks of mango. Cafe Castemila is such a cute place. The sisters that run the shop have 26 years of experience creating beautifully flavored gelato's. Try the lemon in the passionfruit, and mango. The lemon, which is usually my litmus test for a gelato maker, was lightly sweet (not that heavy sweetness used to overcompensate for acrid tartness) and the tart was a peaceful tartness (not too puckering) -- as baby bear so famously said, "just right!" It was a very hot day so I went with a cold brew + extra ice and the light raspberry cloud because of its tartness. This place has an old school kdrama meet cute vibe. Cafe Castemila is such a cute shop and an adorable addition to the mall. I absolutely love the girly aesthetic and any girly girl would love it too. There are a lot of cute photo ops too if you go with a friend. I went later in the day on a weekend and it was pretty busy so a lot of the pastries appeared to be sold out. The gelato looked amazing and because I'm a sucker for anything with rainbow sprinkles, I tried the Fruity Delight with sprinkles. I believe it was a combination of a few different berries. It was so creamy and delicious. It tasted kind of like strawberries and cream. I absolutely loved it and it was a very good, fresh gelato. This is definitely my new favorite sweet treat, and I can't wait to go back and try additional flavors and some of their other offerings. The staff was very friendly too! read more

I was really debating leaving this review because I don't want to make this woman in her 40s working as a barista any harder. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I was a barista and have a degree. But the blonde has some obvious issues with Muslims. I came in and she was very rude to me and then I sat down and she made small talk with everyone else. Not that I care. I'm really not dying from someone having small talk with me. But girls who cover their hair...don't take offense to this woman. Don't get annoyed and walk out like I did. I had 3 hours to kill waiting for the Apple Store appointment and wanted a relaxing cup of coffee while I read and listened to music but I walked out and am sitting in the Apple Store for 2 1/2 hours to avoid this woman. Cute new gelato spot that opened at Old Orchard taking over where a donut shop used to be. The decor inside is so whimsical and cutesy. I visited twice in one weekend. The first time was just to try the coffee. I ordered an iced latte with sugar-free syrup, and it was very refreshing. I also purchased a pack of their butterfly marshmallows. The second time, I went back for affogatos with a group of friends. They seemed to be out of stock on many of their gelato flavors by this time, so it was slim picking. Each time I visit the mall, I make sure I stop by for some delicious gelato, delectable pastry, the best frappe I've ever had, and of course the warm hospitality that greets me by the amazing employees. Each time I visit Cafe Castemila, I feel welcomed in by the staff, who are incredibly friendly and patient. I feel confident that I'm making the correct choice for my gelato because they let me sample the flavors until I find one I love! The gelato is always fresh, creamy, and oh so delicious! It's made fresh in house and you can definitely tell that there is care and attention to detail when you consume each item.
