I wanted to share how much I enjoyed my recent visit to your shop--five stars all the way! The ice…read morecream was absolutely delicious, and your team's wonderful service truly brightened my day. Jake, Van, and Jacob were all so kind and welcoming. They happily let me try a few tasty samples, and Jake was thoughtful enough to pack my treat with dry ice when he heard I had a bit of a journey home. Thank you so much to everyone for making it such a memorable visit!

I hate writing this review because I grew up going to Homer's Ice Cream. As a little kid, when it…read morewas just a small neighborhood shop, going there was a special treat. Back then, the ice cream was outstanding, and the experience matched its reputation. Today, I live in Glenview, so we usually go to Oberweis because it's much closer. Their ice cream is consistently excellent, and the stores are always clean and well maintained. We decided to give Homer's another try the other night, and it was honestly very disappointing. The building looks like it hasn't been updated in years. The paint is peeling, the ceiling tiles are stained and dirty, and the entire place feels worn out and neglected. After all the success Homer's has had over the decades, it's surprising that more hasn't been invested back into the store. Even more disappointing was the ice cream itself. I don't know if the recipe has changed, but the texture and overall quality were nowhere near what I remember. It honestly reminded me of inexpensive, mass-produced ice cream rather than the premium product Homer's was once known for. Of all the local ice cream shops in the area, this was my least favorite experience. It's really a shame because Homer's was once an institution on the North Shore with an incredible reputation. I sincerely hope the owners take a hard look at both the condition of the store and the quality of the product. This place deserves better than what it's become. Unfortunately, after this visit, I won't be returning.

Try the root beet float one, you won't regret it! Super cute ice cream shop right on Central! We…read morecame in and there was a crowd there but no one was really in a line and none of the staff really said anything so we were kinda confused on what we were supposed to do. So we just walked up to the counter to look at the flavors. We sampled a few before we decided to get a cone of the rootbeer float which was so unique because it was like a root beer sorbet and vanilla gelato in one mix. If you've had a root beer float and loved it - this is the move! I'm still thinking about it and it's been a week! The other flavor we ended up with was the Kitty Kitty Bang Bang, which was super subtle with like a raspberry and chocolate flavor. It reminded me of those brookstone raspberry chocolates but in ice cream form. Delish! Highly recommend this was well! I will say the prices were a bit higher than we expected (not that it wasn't listed) but just higher than most ice cream shops but we didn't mind supporting local. I will also say it felt a bit disorganized with the staff there were 2 staff members who were sitting on a stool on their phone and barely said anything to people who were asking questions and engaging. But nonetheless, overall a great experience and can't wait to come back and try other flavors.

My only minor complaint is that the tags on the ice cream cases were very hard to read, Perhaps modify to a larger font size for customers to read easier. Thank you!
