Visited Joanna's Cafe a second time for brunch and dined in. I ordered Lori's Hash which comes with pan-fried potatoes, bell peppers, mushrooms, small pieces of ground beef, and onion, topped with three poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. In theory, this dish works and I was hoping for the hollandaise sauce to redeem itself this second time around. However, even when dining in, the sauce was broken. There was something about this dish, that when all the components are mixed together, the textures almost became unappetizing. Individually, the ingredients tasted fine, but I felt that the dish lacked cohesiveness. Aside from Lori's Hash, I ordered the Belgian Waffle, which came with the classic butter and syrup staples. The waffle was perfectly crispy and fluffy on the inside. I'm not entirely sure if I will return to Joanna's Cafe (maybe I should stop ordering anything that has hollandaise sauce at this establishment), but the rest of their menu items seem promising if you are craving breakfast foods from a small business! read more

This place was recommended to me so I came alone for brunch on a Sunday around 11am. This place was very busy. The restaurant has average noise and is a country style mom and pop atmosphere. They offer to go orders and you can also enjoy your meal indoors. They were busy. The service was overall pretty good and certainly friendly. However I noticed that several tables had people getting impatient because their orders were certainly taking a long time. I ordered the eggs Benedict plate and it was okay. The eggs were Benedict piece was good, the country potatoes were not all well cooked. The biscuit and gravy was simply okay. If you're short on time, this is not the place for you on a weekend. As usual turn to Yelp to find out where to eat in Riverside for breakfast. This place is sort of a hole in the wall and had good food. I had the Denver omelette and it was very tasty, my husband had all meat omelette and he ate it all. The wheat toast was good we also got English muffins and fruit coffee was just OK. We like to visit mom n pop locations and this exceeded our expectations. The menu has a great selection and the waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. Worst breakfast I've ever had! A place has to be really bad for me to write a review. Unfortunately Joanna's was Lacking and the slow service didn't help with first impressions. Only about 4 tables in the restaurant at the time. Food took about 30 mins to get. We got a kids pancake and a chorizo and eggs. The eggs and chorizo were dry and burnt. How do you burn it?! Biscuits and gravy was cold. Kids pancake was good. Can't really ruin that. Just disappointed I wasted my money here. The wait staff saw we hardly touched our food. No one asked how everything was. Just if we wanted a box. We try to support small local businesses as much as possible but this isn't it. As we waited an extended time for someone to take our order and for our food to arrive we were looking at the cute kitschy country decor and noticed the air vents were filthy. Literally black and behind the curtain at the window we sat at there were lots of dead bugs. Makes me also wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen. I'm bummed this place wasn't good all around. If you've taken the time to read some of my other reviews you already know that breakfast is what I love. Joanna's Cafe rules and rocks the breakfast and lunch menu in Woodcrest. This family owned and operated hole in the wall is truly a hidden gem. They have a menu that offers a good variety of breakfast and lunch entrees. Their dining area is relatively small and completely open. While standing at the front door waiting for a table you can literally see everyone in the room. When they get busy, which to my understanding is quite often, you'll have a wait on your hands. Do people show up and wait? Yes they do! They don't leave. They patiently wait for a table. Why? Because Joanna's does breakfast right. They do have a slew of regular customers that absolutely don't mind the wait. So you should wait, be patient, and try it at least once. Service was good. Cute little breakfast spot in Riverside. Took my 2 sons and it's a great cafe in the old school style. No fancy menus or hipster decor, just a warm, cozy cafe in the middle of no where. Ha, ha! This is a family owned business and the service is great. Really nice people. My daughter had the french toast breakfast and loved it. Quite a bit of food. I saw the tons of good reviews on Joanna's Cafe and decided to place an order for delivery. For starters our food was cold. (I get it, It's delivery.) I ordered Joana's Hash. This cafe is definitely a hidden gem my mom seen it on yelp , and wanted to have breakfast here I must say the customer service is outstanding, quick , and quality which was very satisfying our waiter Alexa was very friendly, and knowledgeable with any questions this cafe is small inside but the quality of the food was amazing they definitely make you feel at home it's very clean inside everything stocked I'd give the customer service a 10/10 I highly recommend this restaurant I ordered a small breakfast plate everything came hot & fresh you could see the steam coming off the plate which means the food was not sitting long until someone came to serve it the eggs were scrambled perfect, the potatoes & bacon were great , and toast came so perfectly toasted I had no complaints everything was done right the fist time you could definitely tell the food was cooked with love. A very busy place on the weekends, and not sure if it's worth the wait. We waited 45 min as a party of 2. The price for all this was $37.74. The service was okay, nothing that stands out to me. I ordered the hot cocoa which looked extremely indulging in a photo on the menu. However, taking the first sip I was met with dismay as I could taste the nestle packet of hot cocoa mixed with boiling water. I expected more from the portion and execution as the drink was $3.75. The breakfast burrito was amazing. I got the burrito with chorizo and it was beautifully seasoned and flavored. Except, it had bell peppers in the burrito that lead me awry with a bitter taste, as it might've been placed raw and unseasoned in the burrito. The chilaquiles tasted good, but the portion size was not worth the price. Overall, the food experience was a 7/10. As a consumer, looking out for another, if you look below they have numerous health violations (these violations are available on yelp). Entering the restaurant, you can tell it's a very unhygienic environment and maybe not somewhere you'd want your food being made in. There were stains on wall and trash on the floor.
