Greeted as soon as I entered. The wait is not long since I came in before 8am. The food is to my taste, not too bland or salty. I ordered the Denver Omelette, hash brown and biscuit and gravy. My third time here, twice by myself. It gets packed right around 8:30 am on a weekday, I've been here for 3 different days. Very calming and peaceful in my favorite spot, the corner most booth by the left as soon as you enter. Today, I get to observed two different families (complete strangers) joking around. The other table being elders and another, a teen with his mom and an elder. The crowd was quite lovely this morning which made me eat in a very relaxed way. I needed this time alone. However, ever since I've been coming here (over 3 years) I wonder why do they have to play Fox News on both of their TV's? Do they simply want to target a specific audience? This breakfast was quite delicious. It was a gifted meal from family during a quarantine during covid, and it was sent with love, which I appreciated. Their waffle was fluffy but a big hard. Their sausage and eggs were very salty. And their Eggs Benedict was very goopy, just the way he liked it. I think, overall, it was good altogether. I was in the area looking for a decent breakfast spot so I stopped by. I am utterly disappointed. I walk in with my mom and 2 kids,the host advised us sit anywhere. So we sat in the back corner because hey I know, kids are kind of annoying to sit next to when you want a peaceful breakfast. Anyway, we order 2 coffees, and drinks for the kids. The drinks for the kids come and the woman serving coffee fills our coffee. I noticed there isn't creamer so when the server comes by we ask for some creamer and she takes our order. I am one to enjoy casual conversation while sipping my coffee and sadly I couldn't because she completely forgot. About 7-8 min passed by until we saw a different serves helping a table and we asked again for creamer which she replied one moment. Another 5 min passed by...no creamer. Our server comes by and asks if we need anything and I said yeah we still haven't gotten our creamer and by now our coffee is cold so we need the coffee filled with a fresh cup. Well. She comes back and gives us the creamer but she refills the pot with hot coffee. No, she doesn't toss the old one out. So our coffee is not hot, whatsoever. A few moment later our food arrived. My mom ordered the mushroom omelet with added bacon. It wasn't until we were leaving she told me that it was so disgusting and that the Omelet wasn't cooked. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and it came out cold :(. Although the staff is nice, I believe they may be lacking in other areas. Attentiveness being a big one, especially in the food industry. I had the chicken fried steak... the gravy itself is clumpy and just had no salt. The hash brown is dark and unappetizing. I am not sure if the potatoes are old and then they fried it with old oil (tasted burnt). It came with biscuit and gravy and again gravy with no taste but starchy. We also had the original joes... This is going to be a long but honest review. I've been coming to Joanna's cafe for a few years. The ambiance is cute. The food is great and so are the prices. I've had one bad experience before this post but I didn't think of making it a big deal. Three big tips: don't sit outside it is guaranteed they will forget about you. Secondly they cater the right wing white folks. Hence the right wing news on all the tvs. Lastly, their water is trash. I always find something in my water. Let's get into my recent visit on 08/30/23. My partner and I decided to get some breakfast at our favorite spot. Joanna's Cafe. Our visit is pretty routine. We get seated, order, and eat our food. I could tell that day that they were short staffed. I recognized the owner and saw that he was the one in the kitchen. So I understand even though they weren't busy it took a bit long for our food to come out. We are eating our food and throughout the entire time no refills were offered and also needed napkins. Towards the end our meal I find some sort of clear plastic inside my burrito. I hate being that customer that complains since I too work in the fast food industry. But I just felt disgusted. Although I was ALMOST done with burrito I let the waitress know. She apologized and took the plate back. She asked if I wanted another one or just to remove it from the bill. I stated I wanted it removed from the bill. Why would I wanted another burrito? What if it had more plastic? Anyways, they took a while to come back. Once they did the waitress stated since I "finished" my burrito they can't remove it from the bill. Only a discount could be offered. I was honestly so upset and disappointed. My partner wanted to make scene but since I work in fast food I chose to let it go. I'm writing this review to let everyone know and the owner know that this was not handled properly. I understand this is a family owned business. Things are expensive and prices are rising. I could have easily gone to iHop or Denny's but I like to support my community and local mom and pops shops. Due to this event I will no longer be coming back here again. I really hope the owner takes this review seriously. I'm very disappointed and this is no longer a favorite place of mine. read more

On my way back from a dental appointment, I was really hungry and my neighbor MS. Pat took me to this place. They were about to close but the young lady saw my swollen mouth and new something was up! She was so sweet and never rushed us out. Actually it was nice being just 4 people at that time. The owner said it's never a problem even if it's two minutes before closing. I got the eggs Benedict with hashed browns. This simple dish was super sauced and the eggs were the right self-saucing soft. The Hollandaise was quite powerful and I thought I was getting Canadian bacon but got thick slices of ham. That threw off the flavor balance and made it a lot more salty than I thought it would be. But it was pretty good. Their hashed browns were a bit blander so I had it with ketchup. Overall, it was good and I do want to try more on the menu. read more

Nice people, but they have let it go in TOO MANY WAYS for me to go back. 1-service was terrible waitress did nothing to handle the 50.
