On my recent visit here I was taken back by how many times I was engaged by employees who offered assistance. In a world where many businesses seem to be digressing from customer service, I found Calloway's attention to it quite refreshing. I was also impressed by the huge selection they had here. They had great selections for every area in my yard, whether it be shady, sunny, or somewhere in between. In addition to plants, they had gloves, yard tools, decor, and more! Pretty much almost anything you could need. They also had some pretty cool moss birdhouses, one of which came home with me! Calloway's has fairly reasonable prices, on most things. The service was friendly and they had several employees around if you needed help. They even had plastic available to put in your car if needed. Parking is limited on site but there is plenty of street parking in the adjacent neighborhood. I also loved that landscapers were stopping in to get items. This is also a good thing to see when going to a nursery or plant shop. All of their items seem in great shape and taken care of well. I ended up getting some hydrangeas that were beautiful. The prices were reasonable for the quality you get. I will make sure to stop in again when I'm in the area.

You came out in early spring, to provide an estimate, when the sun rises further to the south (this area was shaded at that time) but as we get further into the summer the sun is further North (it's in full sun now). We talked about this! Being the professional landscaper, you should know how the seasons affect the sun/shade in planting areas with fences and structure nearby. In stead of making good on your mistake, you wanted to sell us other plants which we declined because we already paid you to landscape this area. You recommended what plants to plant! The repairs made on the pavers and underground drain is ugly. The pavers have a noticeable dip in them because you reset a small section rather than fixing it correctly. All the pavers should have been reset to slope away from the covered patio. After resetting the pavers, you did not fill in the spaces between the pavers. You would know this if you ever inspected your crews work but you've never been back since providing the estimate. You would have also seen the damage they did to our new gutters. And by the way, we are very pleased with the work our contractor did on our outdoor living space.

They are so much cheaper than the big box stores, but they produce amazing results. We grabbed a variety of items: tomatoes, jalapeño peppers, cilantro, basil, lavender, and hot peppers. We also bought some soil. The bags are big and heavy, but you don't have to carry them. When you pay at checkout, tell them what you want. They will send men to get the bags and deliver them directly to your car. They do have special garden carts for cruising the center, picking out what you want, and wheeling them around so that you don't have to carry awkward plants. There are flat carts for larger items and small flat carts for those getting a few smaller plants. It's always a quick enjoyable visit here, especially in the spring when plants are blooming.

This review is solely for their landscaping design services based on the designer I worked with. I…read moreinitially started conversations with them in Fall 2025 and we developed a beautiful plan that included reshaping and expansion of my front flower bed. We also decided that late February was the better time for installation. Through these initial conversations, my designer was great. Easy to get a hold of, super nice and friendly and just very easy to work with. As we got closer to February, I decided I wanted to keep my flowerbed shape and size. Well, that meant my project was less revenue, and that's when service went downhill. I asked for a redesign to keep my flowerbed at its original shape and size. If expectations were set up front that it would take as long as it did to get the new quote, it wouldn't have been an issue but this designer consistently promised dates and deadlines that were never met - and I had to be the one to follow up every single time. When the designer finally responded to me (multiple texts and a couple calls just went unanswered), it was mentioned (for the first time) they have a dollar minimum and after I asked to leave my FB shape/size as is, I would be under that minimum. We were now just a few weeks out from my install date so I was very frustrated. I finally had to call the owner to complain about the continual promises for a new quote that continued to not get sent my way, and now this apparent minimum that was never mentioned previously. The owner was great and assured me I'd have the new quote within two business days and that he'd waive the minimum for me given my poor experiences thus far - and I finally received the new quote as promised. Install day came around and some of what was planted wasn't even what we agreed to in my quote. Now knowing what I know after working with a new nursery designer, some of what was planted shouldn't even be getting full sun which they are - so naturally, those aren't doing well and need to be replaced. I would think this is bare minimum for what a designer should know. Sometime after the install date, I reached out because I felt the FB looked too bare when I wanted it to look full (and I realize the plants still had a lot of growing to do). They agreed to add a few more grass plants along with additional ground cover to fill up space. All three grass plants died within days, and the ground cover looked so randomly placed, it looked like a child did it. Plus, The ground cover is supposed to be a shade only plant and has been getting full sun. This is in addition to the fact that they had to replace a skyline holly tree twice within just a couple months. And the new grass plants they added weren't even the same varieties as the others and looked wildly different in every way possible. After the second install where those additions were planted, I was really unhappy with it all. I repeatedly reached out to my designer to try to figure out a plan and it was pulling teeth AGAIN to get a response. I know people are busy, but there's zero excuse to not even take two seconds to send a text. There was at least two instances where they were supposed to come by to discuss issues and my disappointment with the finished work and completely no-showed, not even a text. If I did this more than once to my clients, I wouldn't have a job. She finally came by one afternoon to discuss a plan but at this point, I'd had too much disappointment and lost trust in this designer. I never received another quote as discussed (which sadly I didn't even expect to at this point), so I just gave up and called Calloway's and paid to work with a new designer. Sadly, I feel as if my project was simply too small for them to warrant decent customer service from the designer. I've attached several photos of my FB, which looks like work I could have done myself - or any other non-professional. It just looks terrible. The first several photos are after the first install, and the last are after the additions. Extremely disappointed, but I'll reiterate that the owner was great.

On 7/4/26, a staff member was sitting in the cooler handing out water bottles -- 1-2 each -- to select customers, but skipped over us entirely. When we finally got inside, she asked how we were doing. My 80-year-old mother mentioned it was hot, and the employee replied, "Is it that hot since you're out?" -- dismissive, especially right after handing out water to other customers and not us. It felt like the staff cater to a certain type of customer, and we didn't fit that mold. Very disappointing and disheartening after being loyal customers for so long especially on July 4th.

A desert rose in the store was producing seeds when we visited in September 2026. We used to shop here in the early 1970s when the store was new. We hadn't been by Sunshine for quite a few years. The current owner purchased the store in 2023. Sunshine is now very easy to walk through. We are very impressed by Sunshine.
