This was my first visit since they moved to a new location on Greenville. The new location has more parking but is not necessarily easier to get out of. The nursery has not changed. They have every flower, plant, or tree that you can imagine. They have fertilizers, soil, mulch, and other soil additives. They have bug and pest remedies. They have adornments for the yard such as wind chimes. Customer service remains much better than at the box stores. Prices seem to have increased a lot but I guess that is true for everything, everywhere. This is a go-to first choice for plants and plant care in Lake Highlands. read more

Calloway's Nursery - Assorted chimes - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Dallas, Texas

I have been making the rounds to different Calloways locations. It's natural as it is one of my favorite nurseries. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of this particular Calloway's Nursery is customer service. On my recent visit here I was taken back by how many times I was engaged by employees who offered assistance. In a world where many businesses seem to be digressing from customer service, I found Calloway's attention to it quite refreshing. I was also impressed by the huge selection they had here. They had great selections for every area in my yard, whether it be shady, sunny, or somewhere in between. In addition to plants, they had gloves, yard tools, decor, and more! Pretty much almost anything you could need. They also had some pretty cool moss birdhouses, one of which came home with me! Calloway's has fairly reasonable prices, on most things. They also have specials each week and a lot of those are great deals. I also recommend you become a member of their garden club as the rewards seem to add up pretty quickly for me. Was trying to get a couple of vegetables. Well, we couldn't because the guy told us he shut down all the registers so we couldn't make purchases. So we ended up going to one of your competitors and bought a ton of stuff there. I don't understand why you'd do this when you knew you had customers in here. I guess you didn't want the business. read more

This is a smaller location, and currently not a lot in stock. However, I'm sure that's because of the excessive heat (it's August). They did have a lot of Caladiums on sale, some really pretty ones. The entire area is open tho covered, in 100 degree heat, the greenhouse cover makes it closer to 110 degrees. There are fans blowing, but it's blowing hot air. Some plants looked a bit sad, tho most were good. It's a rough time to plant, I don't fault them. The location is nice, just small. Staff was a bit hands off today. Maybe from the heat. Odd thing is, a mile south and there is another lager location. There are two of these located close enough it's almost within walking distance. read more

First time shopping at this location. I usually shop at the one a half mile away further South on Greenville. This one is newer, but really didn't see much difference. Same service by the staff, attentive to customers, but allowing them to shop on their own. The product selection is about the same. Some items seemed to have more quantity on hand (soil amendments and additives). The Calloway's brand fertilizer is the best for my lawn and it is by far the best. The price overall is higher than the big box stores but you get great items for the price! read more

Recently enjoyed a plant shopping trip at Calloway's and so grateful for the experience. We're at a time in our world where we have to get a bit creative in finding things that bring us joy. Lately plants have been that for me. My husband and I headed to Calloway's with an idea of some indoor plants to get for our apartment. I'm relatively new to the plants world so I was elated when the staff treated me with kindness and patience as I asked so many beginners' questions. We ended up going home with four new plant babies! I was so thrilled. Grabbed a snake plant (sansevieria), a medium-sized peace Lily, a pothos, and a bromeliads plant! All but one of these are pretty low maintenance plants, requiring minimum sun light. Great for apartments! It's been about a week and all are still vibrantly green and smiling- yes smiling. If you're feeling like you're in a bit of a slump, I highly recommend rejuvenating your mind and spirit by visiting a local greenhouse/nursery. Plants have magic in them! Thank you Calloway's for walking us through caring for our new plants. Cross fingers these stay with us for a while. read more

Beautiful, large, mostly outdoor modern looking garden center. The plants and seeds I have from them have prospered well.

We had such a great service and experience with Reba. We ordered more than 200 plants and the plants came in such a good shape. Thank you!! read more

nice plants. unbelievable rude staff. both the wife and I offered greetings, both returned with silence. He asked if we wanted a box, said yes, ignored my outstretched hand like I didn't exist and then slammed the receipt on the counter. It's always fun to spend a shit pile of $$ only to be treated like dirt. What a rude piece of shit dude. clearly a misplaced hire and seems better fit to shoveling dirt than dealing with people. money is tight - won't be giving it to Calloways while that ass is still employed read more

Pros: nice selection, usually have most basic plants in fair to good condition. Convenient hours. Plenty of parking. Cons: impossible to find help when you need it, employees at checkout were rude. They let elderly customers carry carts full of things that you know will be hard for them to put in the car without offering help. They seem annoyed to be there. For the price (not cheap!!) you would be better off at Jackson's or Northaven where you will be offered help finding things, help with carrying things go to your car if needed and they have a better selection. read more

First I must say, the gentleman Robert who helped my partner and I today was extremely helpful and attentive. He helped us pick out the perfect plants for our home, he was knowledgeable and asked us all the right questions so the plants we bought would be able to thrive in the right environment. Second, the selection that they had is great, everything from indoor to outdoor plants. Their selections are very well taken care of, the energy and atmosphere is very uplifting. read more

A nursery should know better. We looked at orchids this afternoon. It seems the poor orchids were standing in a lot of water...a quick way to kill them. "Someone must have just watered them" was the answer we received. If people who work at a nursery care this little or know practically nothing about plants, why are they working there. Really disgusted! read more

Been on a big plant therapy kick lately - thank you to Calloway's employee Robert for introducing the phrase "plant therapy" into my quarantine lingo! Robert and his team helped me put together a fall inspired planter box reminiscent of climates that grow flowers better than Dallas! Visiting with a friend and she informed that she lived right across from a nursery. I then informed her I had already bookmarked it! I was impressed! Tons to choose from!! Some I've never seen before. If you like air plants, this place a bunch. Not just a bunch but also a dandy amount of kinds of air plants! Big ones too! 5 stars all the way! Amazing selection and the employees are super helpful and knowledgeable! I highly recommend this location.

Just like how Las Vegas has Star Nursery, this is the Texas version. I like the greeting once you go in u less they're busy. I enjoyed the wide selection of plants especially the airplants section which we don't have a lot in Vegas. Parking was convenient located out outside the store. A very nice store if you like plants and if in the area. read more

This afternoon I made my last trip to Calloway's Nursery. The staff is not knowledgeable. I asked one young saleswoman for help finding a plant. She had to ask someone else where it was. When I asked her a specific question about the variety, she gave me an answer that had nothing to do with my question. When I politely asked her again she gave me a disgruntled look and walked away. Another time I received the wrong information and bought soil that was not suitable for repotting the plant I had specifically asked about. I didn't bother returning the soil because the bag is too heavy. They have some nice looking plants but you're on your own if you need expertise. It's sad to say but the big box stores do a better job of training their staff. read more

Love, love, LOVE this place! I know just enough about plants to be dangerous, but I love them. So every weekend during the spring I stomp in here with a million questions and they patiently answer each one. My herb garden and vegetables and fruits and landscaping and houseplants have never looked better! Come here. Ask for Gen or Amy or Cindi or Nate. They're all awesome and they will all help. Then #buyallthegreenthings and go play in the dirt! You'll thank me later. read more

Fully staffed with friendly attentive people. I know nothing about plants. They had tons of varieties and beautiful pottery at very VERY reasonable prices. Why go to giant hardware big box stores when you can go to a nursery that exists just for plants???? read more

Safety over Profits. Per a Calloway's corporate representative, there are no security cameras inside nor outside at any of their locations. Customers should be able to feel safe where they shop. While shopping my catalytic converter was stolen in the parking lot at their 7600 Greenville location. This time it was a very expensive car part stolen. The next time it could be an employee's or customer's life in danger. read more

I came to visit some of the Calloway stores as my company owns shares and I wanted to see the store in person. Calloway's Nursery on Greenville Avenue has been an amazing partner and resource for my wife and I as we re-landscape our home. Robert on the sales team was knowledgeable, informative, and very patient in showcasing several options to complete our project. Great nursery. Very helpful staff. They do try to keep a good selection and usually have what we want.

I have visited this location twice in the past two or so months, and Jimmy has helped us each time. He is always kind and knowledgeable, and has helped us find what we want/need. Unfortunately, two of my plants from my original purchase did not thrive (despite my constant attempts to nurture them properly and educate myself on proper care). As a last effort, I brought them back to Calloway's where Jimmy was wonderful and took a look at each of them, and unfortunately pronounced them too far gone to salvage and revive. He graciously offered to replace these plants with the same or different ones that would work better in the self-watering pots we have and would endure the upcoming colder weather. We left the store with new plants and a refund for the difference in price from the old ones. I of course offered to pay for the new plants as I'm the one who led the former ones to their untimely demise, but he insisted that was not necessary. In summary, Jimmy is amazing and Calloway's deserves my business and yours. I will definitely return for any other plant needs. Note: I do not have a total black thumb. My hibiscus has bloomed like crazy this year, my anthuriums are happy, and so is my bromeliad and ponytail palm. I guess I just do best with plants that appreciate more moisture! read more

Went in recently to re-pot one of my plants and Robert Surko assisted me. He was so very knowledgeable and kind, and knew exactly what I was looking for. We found the perfect pot that didn't break the bank cost wise, and gave me instructions on how to properly care, and water my plant so that it will thrive within my apartment. Huge kudos for Robert for the assist. Glad I went to Calloway's and will certainly return based on the amazing customer service I received. read more

Four of my six plants had mites and died within four days. They also infected my entire garden, killing almost half of my plants. The employee I returned to with the plants, rudely shrugged his shoulders and said it wasn't his problem, and I could not get a refund. BEWARE!!!!!! read more

I am a returning shopper and drove to buy a White Gaura and was 5 min late. I came at 6-05 pm, asking the manager to let me just buy what I came for and drove for 30 min for. He refused to let me in a rude way, although I relied on previous working hours which had recently changed. I think I could have gotten an exception given the gas prices too, will think if I will return with online shopping much easier and at the same price. I also called the store numerously and no one picked the phone. read more

There was nothing about this nursery that made it stand out. They have a great assortment but they didn't have everything I wanted, flower wise. No snapdragons for me. It was somewhat crowded and the basket's they provide were somewhat hard to maneuver. Prices are average, just above a dollar for one flowering annual. The plant's themselves are in good shape, not very many damaged limbs or discolorations so that gets a thumbs up. It's a good nursery, but it won't stand out in my mind and I would only go there due to it's proximity to my apartment, hence the A-OK rating. read more
