    Biang Biang Noodle
    Debbie C.

We ordered carry-out at Jui Thai on a Monday and ordered the biang biang noodles based on previous recommendations. The restaurant had a decent number of customers before noon and the service was kind and efficient. The ambiance provided an open concept with brighter lighting, nice but not a place for an intimate, quiet dinner. Perfect for lunch. The noodles are homemade, so good! We couldn't finish them the first day and they were honestly better the second day. The beef was good but the noodles stole the show. They had a "bouncy" , chewy texture that you can only get with homemade. I want to go back and try some of the other dishes, but you will not be disappointed with the noodles.

Fantastic hand pulled noodles that are absolutely worth the up charge to substitute them for rice. Be careful on the dumplings. I ordered the shrimp and dumplings and I thought they would be 6.95, and they ended up being $14. I'm wondering if there are two on the menu. But I was looking at the appetizer ones.

Love their super simple set-up yet you get the most delicious dishes! It was my first time trying their biang biang noodles (one of the most popular items. It made me appreciate hand pulled noodles. Despite having minimal broth, this dish is so flavorful. I was still craving the dish 30 mins after I left the restaurant. The noodles have the perfect combination of gummy and soft. Most hand-pulled noodles I tried don't absorb flavor but these are so tasty. The golden braised beef noodle is also my new favorite. Perfect for a cold winter. The beef pieces are soft, fatty, and just melts in your mouth. I didn't try the pad Thai but my friend said it was good. Their dumplings are abot that exceptional but it's definitely different. It can be a full meal, having 15 pcs in one serving. I like the ambiance being simple, nothing fancy but clean. Service is straightforward, fast and friendly. I'll surely keep coming back

We had a quick lunch for the first time here and the food was a little different than we expected, but everything was interesting-good. Nothing we had tasted spicy, but had a good flavor. The wonton soup is different than other places with a little bit more of a fish sauce under town to it. The wontons were really good and the dumpling dough around it was delicate and well-made. The biang biang beef was the winner with the extremely long hand pulled noodles. Most of the flavor being on top, including a drizzle of black vinegar at one zone discretion. Even though it looked like a lot of chili flakes and chili oil, it was not hot at all. The Tiger tofu cubes were quite big and, as often happens, the vegetables were still pretty hard and crispy, but the tofu was super soft inside the temporal like batter. The sauce threw me a little bit because it was more sweet and sour versus what I thought might be spicy given the name, tiger sauce. Anyway, we'll come back and try other things like the Mapo tofu, and the skewers which looked like a popular choice among the other diners, which included families with kids. The space is minimalist but the service was fantastic. No alcohol, but lots of various teas and other drink drinks.

4.5. Located in the shopping center near Micro Center plaza, I was drawn to this restaurant by their offering of hand-pulled noodles. The tables/chairs and space is typical of a Chinese carry out. You're not coming for the ambiance. I would say it's a very cold restaurant due to the small area and proximity to the outside door. Make sure you wear a heavy sweater or like eating in your coat The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful explaining the menu and are clearly proud of their food and enjoy what they do. The food is outstanding. The pulled noodles are made in house. They are soft and have a good chew. They also make their own wontons. We tried three things: The Baing Biang is really good. Reminded me of some of the flavors of a pho, but the noodles really shine. Listed as spicy, you can have the chili oil on the side and and as much of that and the black vinegar as you like. The Peking Zhajiang Noodle is another dry dish that is milder and has a savory beef sauce, cucumbers and cilantro. I added a bit of chili oil to make it spicy. The sauce did not detract from the noodles. So good! If you like wonton soup, you will appreciate the freshness of the wontons and the greens. Our friend had the Dragon Eye stretch noodle served in a broth with a fried egg and subbed in beef-- which she loved. Great experience! We recommend!

I've ordered take out here a few times, I cannot get those hand pulled noodles out of my head. I always order extra noodles because they give you so much broth to go with it (or at least they do when it's packaged to go). My order is always ready very quickly and if you're really wanting to go above and beyond add a slice of their crepe cake! I've had the chocolate and the earl grey, the texture is phenomenal and they taste really good without being too heavy or too sweet.

The hand pulled noodles are the star of the show! We loved the red oil lamb hand pulled noodles. The dragon eye stretch noodles are also a good choice is your like your soup a little more sour. The lamb sandwich is super tender and flavorful, highly recommend! Good service and pretty clean establishment. The wait staff walked us through the menu and their specialty hand pulled noodles.

It makes me feel bad to write this because the atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and the staff was great. The food brought the rating down for me significantly, as I ended up leaving most of my meal uneaten. The best way I could describe the meal was that the entree had way too much of one flavor and the dessert had absolutely no flavor at all. The vegetarian biang biang noodles were completely soaked in hot chili oil. Tofu was undercooked and unseasoned. The dish had no flavor other than uncomfortable heat. The tiramisu crepe cake had the consistency of chewing on play dough. It did not taste like tiramisu or really like anything at all. So disappointing.

I've ordered many things from here before. I love their Pad Thai, Cold Bean Curd Dish, the Red Oil Beef, and Dumplings. For their deserts I highly recommend getting their tiramisu and dark chocolate crepe cakes! You won't be disappointed! I feel like there are so many yummy options that you couldn't go wrong. When dining in, our server was kind, friendly, helpful, and informative when it came to ordering.

Was craving some hand pulled noodles to celebrate lunar new year and Jiu Thai was the answer! It had been a long time since my last visit, but was so happy the food was just as delicious as I remembered. Friendly, helpful server greeted us and we sat at a little 4-top in the middle. It wasn't busy at all, but we came at a weird middle-of-the-day time. Ordered pan fried dumplings, dragon eye noodles, and biang biang noodles. Everything was fresh and delicious. Biang biang noodle is my favorite and today it slapped. Perfect balance of tang, spice, fresh, and chewy noodles. It's such a perfectly balanced plate, it's hard to order anything else! Hubs ordered the dragon eye noodle soup and it was light, delicious, and a huge portion of hand-pulled noodles. Pan fried dumplings were a perfect starter (6 pieces per order.) Only took off one star because the cafe itself is just left ok'ing a little worn around the edges. It could use a tiny bit of sprucing up and cleaning. Absolutely no shade tho. I still recommend it!

Wow. Just amazing. Got dinner with a friend and decided to come here for something new/different. It's your small cozy typical Asian restaurant with fast paced service. Food came out soon after ordering! Even though it's small, there are lots of seating and the server makes it feel like home. Our server was really nice and helpful with pointing out popular dishes that definitely didn't disappoint. The cold noodles were so good and refreshing. I surprisingly loved the texture of the cold noodles too! Not as chewy as you would expect, but in a good way for this dish. The biang biang noodles were amazing! The flavor and chewiness of the thick hand pulled noodles were phenomenal... and even better when paired with the red oil beef! I need to come back and try more off the menu! Highly recommend :)

Finally tried the beef noodle soup at Jiu Thai! Their menu ranged from traditional Chinese food to more Americanized dishes like sesame chicken, and surprisingly they even have macarons!! The noodles themselves were very thick and doughy, and the portion was filling. The broth wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be so I'd probably add some extra sauce next time. The beef slices and radish paired well with the soup and cilantro added extra flavor. I also tried the lamb skewer, which was cooked well with lots of savory and salty spice on it. There were lots of seats indoors and ordering was super convenient since you can order online using a QR code. Service was quick as well, even for our big group.

Food was delicious! My only minor issue was with my biang biang noddle dish, not much beef at all and portion could be larger, I was still hungry! Flavor was on point but I'd probably try something new next time. My spouse got the tiger tofu and I tried it & very tasty! spring roll appetizer nothing spectacular. I also tried the earl grey mouse cake which was interesting, definitely had an earl grey flavor but desert reminded me of thin wafers with mouse. Friendly waitress.

Food was awful. This restaurant doesn't have free refills so that is a big turn off. Almost all the food has vinegar, and I don't like that.

When I walked in the atmosphere was great, I could smell good food and heard conversations. There's a large area with large round tables to right and to the left are booths and almost all of them were full. The menu was a mix of Americanized Chinese, traditional Chinese and included Dim Sum as well. There were a number of dishes we didn't know much about and there were dishes being enjoyed by other customers that looked delicious. The wait staff was more than happy to explain the dishes and/or show us on the menu what someone was eating. They took very good care of us and shared the tasks of bringing our food, filling water, and just checking in. Now the food. The food came out very quickly! We all received a well filled bowl of rice. First out was the string beans, perfectly cooked, not droopy, and the flavors of garlic and hot peppers. Even though the peppers were there the heat was not overpowering at all. Next was the shredded pork with garlic sauce. The textures of the pork and bamboo shoots were a nice contrast and the sauce was perfectly balanced and craveable. The special grilled lamb, I was told, was some of the best in the city. It was tender and well spiced. Even when he said he was full he just couldn't stop eating it. For the dim sum order we got the shrimp dumplings, soup dumplings, scallion pancake, and sesame balls and they brought a soy sauce and a chili oil with them. The shrimp dumplings were tender but the dough was pretty sticky. I think this is normal and they were tasty with some of the oil on them. The scallion pancakes were very thin and gummy, this is the only thing we ordered that I would not get again. The soup dumplings were very small but packed a lot of flavor. The dough did stick together a bit so unfortunately some of the soup did leak out. The sesame balls were the hit and we're just the right amount of sweetness that we considered them desert. They were large, at least 2" in size, with a wonderful sesame seed covered exterior and a soft, sweet center. Chuan Jiang Hao Zi is a wonderful somewhat hidden gem. If you want traditional Chinese cuisine including all the different offal they have it and I would totally try it here over anyone else if I was brave enough. Portions were a good size for the price. I highly recommend checking them out!

(Wasn't feeling to adventurous this trip) The restaurant was well decorated & the staff took great care of us. Plus, I figured hibachi can take awhile, and I usually don't have a long time for lunch. Today I had a little more time, and I made a point to head over. It is a bit out of the commercial sprawl at the corner. Look for the food truck, that's the first thing I saw, and it helped me find where to turn in. I wasn't sure if there would be dine in, but there is, plenty of seating inside and out. Inside there are seats at the counter, plus booths, plus I think a couple tables. Menu is pretty basic: hibachi and a few sides. I got steak and chicken, with fried rice, and you pick two vegetables so I picked cabbage and bean sprouts. You get a Yum Yum sauce, and you can add others, but I didn't need them. And the sauce container they gave me was plenty big. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, the chicken was tender and flavorful, cooked in a nice sauce. The fried rice was great. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. And it all came out in about five minutes. They had a steady stream of carry out customers, but they still got mine on the grill, apparently as soon as I ordered it. Fast and good, and competitively priced for hibachi. A big portion, but not a huge, two days' worth of leftovers portion. But I was stuffed and couldn't finish it all. When I saw the drink cooler with just water and a few juices, I figured I'd have to go with those, but they do have fountain drinks. And they actually have a pretty good variety, cola, diet cola, cream soda, blueberry, cherry I think, and a few others. Anyway, several pleasant surprises, the food lived up to its reputation, I was in and out fast, and for not a whole lot of money in this day and age. I will be back.
