The food was amazing. My first ramen restaurant I tried and loved. It has definitely become a go to spot. The service was great. Our server was very attentive and nice. The ambience was esoterically pleasing. The only negative I have is that the seating is very close to each other. You will definitely become dreamily with the table next to you. read more

This was our 1st time here & it was delicious The service was great. They are on top of everything. Always making sure you have everything you need. The restaurant itself it very nice, very clean, loved it! If you're looking for good ramen at a great price you have to try JINYA Ramen Bar. You won't be disappointed. read more

This is our first time to try Jinya. I want to say thank you to the receptionist who is such a lovely person. I should have been more attentive and have her name, sorry. As far as the food we are all very happy we came to Jinya. I had the pork medium spicy ramen which was yummy. Also had the Jinya pork bun. I have had a lot of buns and I can say this is one of the best, soft. Subtly sweet and Devine! The quinoa salad is a must try. We will be back!!! read more

I like the tonkotsu spicy +seasoned egg, nori, tofu. My friend enjoys the tonkotsu black as is. My boy always tries the limited time specials. Originally we stumbled upon JINYA Ramen in Midtown Houston, but we prefer this place simply because there's never a wait time and there's more space while dining in (Note: we haven't been to the midtown location since social distancing went into effect, so this may have changed). The food is always well seasoned and served fresh. Both locations have AMAZING service and the food is always great. The staff are always super helpful and accommodating. Food quality & service quality are the reason we keep coming back. read more

I came here for lunch with some coworkers while in Texas. This places is AMAZING. Next time I'm in town I'm definitely stopping by Food - The Jinya Buns were really good. I recommend getting these as an appetizer if you haven't had them before!! I was a huge fan of the Spicy Chicken Ramen. The chicken was surprisingly easy to break up with the chopsticks! I added some garlic/spicy sauce to it as well which stepped it up a level. Service - Service was fast and friendly. They refilled our drinks often and were on top of everything! We got there early for lunch and had no problem getting sat. I'm not sure if it would be the same for a later lunch. Atmosphere - It was really cool inside! There's a bar and a decent amount of seating. A really fun setup read more

The food is good, nice atmosphere. Their chicken ramen has been my favorite, taste just right. My daughter loves their kids menu, it's huge portion as well read more

We were in town visiting family for a milestone birthday. My boyfriend loves ramen, I'm not too fond of it! However, since Jinya had other options we went in! I had the fried chicken and tempura shrimp. He had the chef's special Ramen! My "appetizers" were really flavorful and I was pleasantly surprised. I tried his ramen and was also pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the flavor. I would definitely recommend going. The only thing I didn't like are the shared tables. I'm not too partial to community tables, it's a personal preference. But the food was great! read more

I had the Jinya Original Tonkatsu 2010. This was the most mediocre experience in my life. The broth, the noodles, the seasoned egg. The highlight was the extremely soft and tender chasu. Service was good, attentive and prompt. But there's no reason to return. read more

Jinya is always a good time. The food was good and staff was friendly! Get the wonton ramen, you won't be dissapointed.

Excellent experience! It was pretty busy when we got there, I was surprised with how much business they had for a Sunday afternoon. There was only two of us so we didn't have a problem getting a table. Service was really good. Everyone from the host to our waitress was friendly. We got our drinks almost immediately. Both just unsweet ice tea, nothing fancy. Ordered a few appetizers. Seaweed salad, tempura Brussel sprouts, and gyoza. All three were good, the Brussel sprouts in particular had a lot of flavor. I think they were my favorite. I got the spicy umami miso ramen. I added an egg as it didn't come with one and a kikurage (wood ear fungus). You get quite a bit with the extra toppings! The ramen itself came topped with ground pork, bean sprouts, green onion, and boom choy. It had a bit of kick, but not too spicy. Some other flavors had an option on the menu for "mild, medium, or hot", this one didn't. I added more hot sauce provided on the table. It was very good. The other person got the cilantro chicken ramen, I didn't try it but they said it was good and the chicken was tender and juicy. read more

Great food although I inly have the chicken ramen and crispy chicken. It's a little pricey but food is good.

This place sets the mood. I've been here twice and their service is great. I don't know if it's perfect timing but we get seated pretty quick. It has a bar side and seating area. Their timing of when they come to check on you is just right. The wait time for the food is actually fast. The food is fresh. The calamari was kind of plain and not crunchy, I like mine with flavor and I didn't get that. The noodles on the menu says black. It was my first time trying it and I would get it again. It has pork inside and the egg was perfect. read more

Highly recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious, with different options when compared to other ramen bars. Their food was not salty like most, and the service was exceptional. Definitely going back. I had the chicken wonton ramen bowl and added bok choy. It was spectacular. My husband had a ramen bowl with pork, sorry can't remember the name, but the pork was so tender. I've been to other places where the pork was tough to cut. read more

Tried this out for a girls night. The restaurant was nice but pretty loud. Service was awesome! Our server walked us through the menu and was very attentive. Overall the food got mixed reviews from our party. Ordered some jinya buns, which was a solid choice. Ordered the shrimp wonton ramen. Shrimp was over cooked, so the wonton had a serious chewy texture. Ramen was good but needed to add sauce to add flavor to broth. Tried the chef special, the kaarage chicken ramen, which was decent but difficult to eat a whole piece of chicken. It might be more practical if they cut the breast into slices prior to serving. Another friend ordered the chef special but noodles were not cooked through! The yuzu shio delight got rave reviews. Overall, I would maybe try this again but would order something else or most likely I would try a different location all together. read more

This was my second time going to a Ramen restaurant ever and I can say without a doubt I would go back to this restaurant. The service was excellent; the server answered all my questions, and I loved all her suggestions so did my husband. The ambiance of the location was lovely and the interior was unique atmosphere which is why I choose to eat here. The food was fantastic! Cooked perfectly and blended so well. I applaud the chief. We will be coming back! read more

Love ramen, they have vegan options which are great. They greet you at door and applaud when leaving, a bit awkward but fun

The service good ,the decorations nice but the food !!!! This is one flavorless ramen and we share 3 different ones on our table. The cashu bowl meh and the poke bowl couldn't be more boring . I don't know how this place has so much good rating when this has been one of the worst ramen place I've ever been. Maybe they haven't eat ramen elsewhere. The only good thing was the noodle texture ! Me, I won't be back! I couldn't be more disappointed! read more

Sadly 3 star visit but potential for 5 stars :/. I arrived prime time for the lunch crowd at 11:40am. Upon entering by myself I found many people waiting. They must have been with other people because the hostess immediately took me to the anchovy seating at the ramen bar. Since it was raining outside I had my jacket, umbrella, purse and cell phone to lay down. Upon trying to put my personal belongings up I managed to hang the jacket on the chair back. I Couldn't scoot my chair in though up to the ramen bar counter because there was literally no room for my hands on the side of the chair to fit in. I was trying in vain to scoot my chair in close enough. There was no hook for my purse under the counter. So it had to sit on my lap the whole time. My umbrella barely fit on the counter with my iPhone. This sounds weird but I was looking for someone to scoot my chair in. I was unable to scoot my chair up to the ramen bar....cray!!! I was asked 4 times what I wanted to order before I even opened my menu or could get seated! Seriously I needed to be scooted in like how a child is! I never got closer to about 18 inches from the ramen bar ledge. Squishing adults in so closely was just a money maker for the restaurant with total disregard for the customers comfort! Seriously I was pissed the whole time I had to reach for my ramen bowl so far each time!!! The noise level has extremely loud! I had to get close to my servers ear so she could even hear my order! The insulation was poor because it sounded like a noisy bar on a Friday night but it was just a weekday lunch at prime time. I ordered the garlic and black garlic oil Tonkotsu. My bowl was half filled. The fresh garlic was pre pressed with a garlic press which was a nice touch :)! The broth was excellent! The pork was very delicious but Sadly I rec'd so little :(. I rec'd 2 very small triangular pieces which looked to be 1-2 ounces of pork. Soooo immensely disappointed :( !!! An egg came with my ramen but not all ramen choices. The rest of the ramen was very good but when I ordered an ice tea, with tax and tip I paid $20. My server gave me my ice tea to go so I was generous with her tip. I doubt it was her fault the seating was like Anchovies in a tiny can. So after $20 I was still hungry for more protein :(. Parking is horrible at prime lunch hour. Expect to walk since 3 out of 6 buildings on one side of the strip center were restaurants plus there were more restaurants on the other side of the strip center. I would recommend this restaurant but not at prime time and not seated at the ramen bar area. I would inquire how much pork you were going to receive and inquire if you ordered additional pork how much you would get. This place tried taking the lady's bowl away next to me when it was still almost half full. I feel they are way to aggressive at lunch hour with the customers. They are definitely looking for a fast turnaround of customers to maximize profits. Have you ever been asked 4 times what you were going to order before you even opened your menu because you could not even seat yourself in such tight seating where your hands couldn't even fit??? I'm petite also !!! read more

I went to JINYA with my co-worker for lunch. It's a small establishment with lots of tables packed in and a few bars, so don't expect to have an intimate conversation here. They have a nice variety of ramen including chicken, tonkatsu and vegetarian broth. Pre-customized ramen is about $12-13, but you can add your own toppings for about 0.50 - $1 each. We stated out with the shrimp tempura appetizer. This isn't the traditional tempura you see at other Japanese restaurants. The shrimp is lightly battered and in a cream sauce, a lot like the shrimp walnut dish. I ordered the sprout up tonkatsu ramen which had a great variety of seaweed, 2 chasu, and egg and some thick noodles. Broth was great, rich but not too salty. The waitress came and checked on us often. Great ramen but a bit loud and crowded. Worth a try! read more

Very good Ramen. It's not the biggest place but they are extremely friendly and the food is outstanding.

Good food. Love it every time. A favorite of mine is the spicy creamy vegan ramen. good service and ambiance.

Came here during Friday lunch, and it was packed. Like other Jinya locations, the interior is elegant but also very noisy. It was hard to have any meaningful conversation unless the person was seated next to you, or you speak loud enough to contribute to the noise pollution. After getting our seat and placing our order, the food arrived relatively quickly. I had the special, the Chicken Karaage Ramen. It was magnificent, and a testament to why this place is always crowded. read more

We've stopped in the area a few times and decided to come in and try their noodles. I had a taste for some ramen, so on a cold day it seemed perfect. For starters, I DO love their dark wood decor; the upside down planetarium hanging from the ceiling is pretty cool, and their restrooms are nice too. Definitely gives you privacy without having to hear any grunts or stunts from someone in the next stall. I will say that they do have a communal wash area for those who might be a little surprised by that. Next, their customer service is pleasant. We were warmly greeted, and upon entry they yell something I never could quite understand. After hearing that 5 x's + it got kinda annoying and distracting. I'm also not fond of the communal seating. Very similar to another well know hibachi place...I'd like to be asked first before sitting using with strangers. As for the food - not bad. We all ordered varying types of noodles; I had the one with brussel sprouts w/pork broth, my husband has the spicy chicken, and my son had the kid's meal, which came with A LOT. It contained a small bowl of noodles, two pieces of fried chicken (tenders), a serving of seasoned rice, a mini salad, orange, and a ice cream. WHEW! Needless to say that was like three meals for my son, so not bad for $10.95. I wasn't too pleased with my noodles. The pork in mine was mostly fat, not really meat. I would've enjoyed an option to "add" full pieces of meat. Also, there were too many brussel sprouts. They werent really seasoned, just kinda thrown in there with the broth. It also had a taste of wasabi, in which I hate. My husband's was really good though. So I were to go again, I might try that instead. read more

Overall, a solid Jinya with a great location for those of us in the Woodlands and far away from good Asian food in Houston, Katy, and Bellaire Boulevard. The prices, like at other chains, are a questionable in how overpriced they are, but you do get a lot of ramen. The Jinya Bun is pretty good but not $5 good. The Karate Chicken is my go to though. read more

The food really is worth 5 stars whether you order ramen or some of there more inventive options. Upon entering, you're immediately greeted by the eager and friendly staff. There's an electric fireplace along the back wall that provides warmth and atmosphere. I went on a chilly day so it was nice to enter a cozy environment. After all, if you're craving ramen, you're probably craving comfort as well. I made it in time for happy hour so I got a $5 Sapporo draft and their pork chashu and kimchee mini tacos. The tacos were divine, the shell was like a crunchy wonton and the filling was so flavorful! For dinner I had the Sukiyaki Q ramen and I'll probably order that again. It was so creamy and flavorful! They have a long list of add-in options like vegetables (I chose bok choy), nori, egg, and aromatics like green onion and garlic. My friend ordered some sort of nachos which aren't part of the regular menu but she enjoyed them! The "chips" were crispy wontons topped with sashimi, a creamy sauce, avocado and thin strips of nori. I thought it was a weird thing to order but I'm glad she did because it looked so good! read more

Customer service is pretty good but there is some inconsistency in providing quality food. The spicy chicken ramen had zero flavor and the chicken smelled foul and was undercooked. They also need to update the prices on their menu. Paid 13$ for 10 pc crispy chicken when it's being advertised as 9$. Update after management comment: As far as the menu goes, since the prices aren't listed on the menu page of your homepage, I did a google search for the menu prices as this was a To go order. I ended up finding this: https://www.jinyaramenbar.com/img/files/menu/1/0/1069/file1.pdf The 10 pc crispy chicken is listed as 10$ . If it's 13$, perhaps the file should be deleted from your servers and prices should appear on the menu of the site so we don't have to find potential 3rd party menus. I'll update the rating as well as this was a one off incident. read more

We absolutely love this place! The ramen is delicious!!! Let me just start with the kids meal! Don't be taken back when you only see 1 item on the kids menu. It literally comes with EVERYTHING! Literally you get chicken ramen, chicken tenders, fires, chicken rice, ice cream and candy! All of that for $10. I wanted to order that! Love the options of add ins and if you still have soup left bring you fresh noodles. I will say it is 10 times better at the restaurant than if you do take out. As soon as you walk in you get greeted by everyone there. It's always very clean in there and COVID protocols being followed! Visiting the area for business and needed some noodles. Good reviews on Yelp. I was disappointed with my last ramen experience and decided to give this one a try. The ramen was very good. The portion was a little smaller than would be considered a big meal, but I had a late lunch and ordered an appetizer, so I left with a full belly. Nice draft beer selection. 2 Japanese and the rest locals. I welcome not seeing any of the all too prevalent lite choices. Started with the Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna appetizer. 3 pieces. A block of sushi rice fried crispy like a McD hash brown with a dollop of puréed spicy tuna on top. It's a mouthful. The hot rice and cold tuna combo is a fun snack. But at 3 for $9, it seemed a bit steep. The tonkatsu taken was very good. A nice mix of flavors with a great broth. Pork was tender with just a tiny hint of smoke. It's a chain, which explains the gentrified atmosphere. I'd be happier to find a little Mamasan and Pappasan noodle house, but they're hard to find. I'd have no problem coming back. read more

Tasty little pork bun. So soft and the pork was very tender. I ordered the special which was thin noodles and fried chicken and my spouse ordered the brisket ramen bowl with thick noodles. Tasty. I visited this new Houston area location on a Saturday shortly after their grand opening and found it to be pretty consistent with their other locations. Still the best ramen in town. I'm still hoping to find better, but I haven't tried it yet. It's pretty dim inside but still family friendly. During the evening you will likely run into more couples and younger people.
