I spent my birthday lunch here on 6/3/26. My family was excited to try it after hearing glowing recommendations from a friend's wife though, to be fair, she does have a talent for turning a candle into a fireworks show. First impressions were positive. The restaurant was clean, pleasant, and the staff were polite and attentive. Unfortunately, that's where the experience peaked. The menu itself is surprisingly thick and heavy, which gave us the impression there would be plenty of options. Instead, it felt like a lot of pages dedicated to not a lot of choices. After ordering, we waited somewhere between 30 and 45 minutes before the first entrée arrived. I ordered the ribeye, cooked medium rare. It was decent enough, but certainly not memorable, especially at the price point. My wife ordered the salmon, which managed to achieve a level of dryness usually reserved for desert climates. The real star of the show, however, was the vegetables and not in a good way. If you're looking to dramatically increase your sodium intake, you've come to the right place. The vegetables were overcooked, soggy, and so aggressively salted that I briefly wondered if the chef had sourced the water directly from the Dead Sea. Every bite felt like a challenge to my blood pressure. We also ordered the Combo Stir Fry Udon. The noodles were perfectly edible, but the accompanying vegetables suffered the same fate: limp, overcooked, and swimming in what tasted like concentrated seawater. In the end, the biggest issue is the disconnect between price and quality. The restaurant presents itself as a premium dining experience, but the food simply doesn't justify the cost. Clean restaurant, courteous staff, average entrées, and vegetables that could preserve a mummy. Sadly, not a place I'd rush back to for another birthday. read more

They have a really good selection for happy hour is why I went. All the appetizers were spot on and delicious. I even enjoyed some of the different martinis. Unfortunately one I had to send back because they switched bartenders and you could see and taste a significant difference, but they were really nice about it and fix the problem. The only issue I had was every role that I tried was not ideally the best I've had one of them. I did try and we just wasted it because it was too fishy and it was warm, which I didn't know that. But I would definitely give it another try it's a nice place very packed people seem to love it. Restaurant was not so clean as there was a family next to us, and the kid threw food all over the place, and even after they left, the food was still on the ground for a while. read more

With 5 hungry people we were ready to chow down on some sushi and rolls, we've never been to Top Sushi but we are so glad we did! The restaurant is gorgeous and well put together, the lighting does make it more private and a relaxed experience. We ordered the spicy garlic cucumbers and their takoyaki as an appetizer, both were so delicious. However my favorite was definitely the cucumbers since they were refreshing. The kiddos all ordered shaggy dogs and a couple California rolls while my partner and I decided to order a spicy tuna roll, udon combination order, and el loco roll to share between us two. The service was great, our server was very helpful and funny as we also like to entertain our staff while we are out. Next time we will try to come during like a happy hour but overall we enjoyed it very much. read more

If I can rate it 10/10 I would! The yellowtail sashimi MELTED in my mouth and the size of the pieces were GENEROUS. The yellowtail jalapeño was good too, the cut on the fish was a good choice, lots of flavor and good balance with the small slices of jalapeño. The umami escolar was beyond delicious! Sushi was good. Service was awful. I'd never been to Top Sushi before, but I've been to multiple sushi restaurants. Sundays are Happy Hour all day long, so when we went on a recent Sunday, this place was pretty packed. Located in an adequate-sized storefront off of SH249 and Northpointe, it's easy to find and there is ample parking. We came for a family gathering, so there were 10 of us in total. The Happy Hour combined with the size of our party is what, I believe, impacted our service. Miso soup was decent; California Roll was pretty good; Rock n Roll was excellent. Crab puffs were also really good. Definitely not the best sushi I've ever eaten, but certainly not the worst. Wasabi is the real deal - use it sparingly! Delivery and service were what was terribly lacking. Food came out in spurts. It took about an hour for me to receive my soup and one roll. Some people had their water refilled; some did not. My iced tea came quickly, but I ended up chewing on the ice cubes because there was nothing left in my glass. Eventually got up and went to the bar to get a refill. All in all, we were there for well over 2 hours. In that time, we watched multiple people be seated at an empty table, order, get their food, eat, pay the check and leave. All before we were even served! It should NOT take over 2 hours to order, eat and pay for sushi. I left a reasonable tip, but after leaving I started to question my judgment. Nothing I could do to take it back, but we all must remember that TIPS is an acronym for "To Insure Prompt Service." The volcano roll was kind of a disappointment but it still had an average everyday sushi feel to it. Their nigiri is single portions, which was excellent since I was alone. I got to try a lot more pieces of different fish that way. The California hand roll was perfect and without rice filler. The uni was fresh and a nice portion. They have several pieces that are their specialty items, and elevate the fish with light sauce and microgreens. The torched scallop was sweet perfection. Came for lunch. Food was pretty decent but a bit pricey in my opinion. Service was quick and fast. Server was nice and the atmosphere was nice and clean. Smelled fresh and the decor and interior is pretty nice. We ordered the calamari and chashu. Rock n roll and super crunchy along with chicken udon stir fry. The calamari was pretty but way overcooked. It was like chewing on balloons and the batter was bland. The dipping sauce was just soy sauce. I think it would've been better with like a spicy mayo or a sweet chili to offset the greasiness. The chashu was pretty good. The white paper underneath is unnecessary. It's nice for aesthetics but the sauce on the chashu made the paper soggy so when I grabbed the chashu or tried to get some of the sauce, I got a bit of paper. The chicken udon stir fry was actually amazing. 10/10 would definitely get that again. The rock n roll and the super crunchy was pretty much the same roll. One was $9 and the other was $14. One had less and one had more. The super crunchy just had one more sauce than the rock n roll. A bit expensive for such a simple roll. Not my go to sushi place but cousin wanted it so we went. Came here for some sushi with another. While I prefer more traditional offerings, this place worked well for satisfying a basic sushi appetite. While many of the specialty rolls offered were very Americanized, the amount of fish was more than ample. They weren't stuffed with rice like some places. Everything tasted fresh, and the happy hour is definitely one to take advantage of. You won't find some more interesting cuts of sushi, but don't let that dissuade you. Service was good. THE VIBE is more fun than most sushi places, with a cool bar and modern decor. It was super clean from front door to the bathrooms! STAFF was super helpful and friendly. Our server Gwen was brand new to waitressing and she did a fantastic job with our hungry, high maintenance group of 5 people, including 2 little kids!! The manager Diana checked in on our table to make sure all was going good. Love the follow through!! THE FOOD was great! We went full gluttony and ordered a ton of food. The fish and ingredients were really fresh, prepared skillfully and pared perfectly with spices and sauces. Absolutely the best sushi I've had in years! My wife and her friend have made this place a regular stop and have raved about it so I finally stopped in, and wow, this is a game changer! The place is immaculate, the service outstanding, and the sushi is some of the best I've ever had - and I've been to hundreds of sushi restaurants from NYC to California. There's obviously a very strong hand in control of how this company's run - you just don't get this kind of quality without a clear vision and firm commitment. The legends foretold the grand opening of a great restaurant that would one day bring fulfillment and joy to the people of Tomball. In January, Top Sushi fulfilled that prophecy. While it had been my intention to visit when it opened, covid stuck its arse in my plans. So today, I journeyed far, to see that which I had heard so much of. And the legend continues... I arrived at lunch, expecting to do a takeout run. Upon entering and seeing the setup, and a light customer occupancy, I decided to dine in. Their hours have likely changed. They did an excellent job of arranging their seating, keeping more than a 6ft space between areas. The staff are all in masks. Use sanitizers, and wipe the joint down regularly. A+ for cleanliness of people and facility. My wait staff was Eric, he was very polite, and though he hadn't tried all of the menu, he had some very good recommendations when I asked him about some of their items and was well aware of customer favorites. At his recommendation, I started with their jalepeno poppers. Stuffed with crab meat and sauced to the brim. They were quite tasty, and didn't burn though I would've enjoyed some heat on it. I also ordered the Agedashi Tofu. TEXTURE ALERT. The outside had a thin but firm crispy layer, and the inside had that cloudlike softness. So tasty. I was getting full after the starters, but i had to continue... They have quite the menu. I was surprised to see so many items with truffle sauce! I had to try something standard, and something new. I first ordered a Spider Handroll. This little beast was thicc. At many places, you see the claws sticking out, and that's it. This one was crawling out the seaweed. Soooo good. My final order of the day was the Kamille. When they shuffled up with my truffle roll, I was looking forward to it. Spicy salmon, torched yellowtail, truffle aioli.... Nommm. The ito togarashi gave it a nice look. I was one, eating for two so it took me a while to finish the last roll, but there was no rush. Life being what it's been lately, it was nice to get out, in a clean and safe environment. The staff were super friendly and masked up. The owner was there as well, going from distanced table to distanced table making sure everyone was doing alright. It was a very good experience, and I am looking forward to returning. We used to love this place, but the service has really deteriorated. It was not really that busy but it took almost 20 minutes to get our drinks orders from the bar. So I decided to order a beer for my second drink thinking that would get here faster. But it never showed up ... except on my bill, which I had to ask them to remove. Only half of our order was delivered before our waiter went MIA for about 20 minutes. When it finally showed up then the manager apologized and offered us discount. Oh! And I watched the waiter "clean" up a nearby table by wiping down the table top but leaving all of the food particles all over the chairs and floor (family before had little kids that dropped a lot of food). We're new to the area and have always wanted to try this place. It's tucked in the back a bit, in what seems like an up and coming complex. This was our celebration dinner for our new house! We didn't know it was happy hour, so it was packed when we came in. We sat at the bar and our waitress was awesome! Being as packed as it was I figured it would take awhile for things, but food came fast. And she checked on us quite frequently, but not overwhelmingly. The rolls were very tasty. We got a little bit of everything. The calamari was ok, not much seasoning, but the crab puffs were great (can't go wrong with fried cheese). We got the Big Boy Country roll and Super Crunchy roll to start. We also order some specialty rolls; the Kamille and the Yummy roll, both amazing. To taste the quality of the fish we got the Kazami nigiri (truffle salmon), as well as salmon and yellowtail nigiri. They were very fresh. Music was just loud enough and the lighting was just right. 10/10, loved it here! Great and fun menu choices as well. I want to mention that this was one of the best service I have ever received.
