I had a wonderful experience at Jin Jia for my friends birthday dinner. We should have came sooner! The inside is sleek with a high end modern twist. I really loved the chains around the booths, it made our booth feel more private. You can't miss the big gold fortune cookie near the restrooms! So cool! Our server was so sweet, attentive and very informative. She explained the menu really well and gave great recommendations. We ordered a cocktail to start, I started with the star in the sky. I absolutely loved this beautiful yummy blue drink. It had supple pineapple, coconut milk, 5 spice and bacardi rum . My friends ordered the asian pear flower and an espresso martini. My friends enjoyed their drinks. We ordered two appetizers to share, the Jin Jia crispy egg rolls and the prawn toast menbosha. Both were great but the prawn toast was our favorite, crispy prawn with a lemon cream sauce, what else can you ask for!? So delicious. The crispy eggs rolls don't look like your typical egg rolls and they don't look that appetizing but they had a great crunch and were very tasty. For our entrees we shared the classic chili garlic shrimp, sweet and sour beef, vegetable fried rice and a side of white rice. It was the perfect amount for the 3 of us, we even went home with some leftovers. The food was so delicious! For the birthday girl, we went with the trident banana lupia with mascarpone. oh my gosh, this dessert was phenomenal! I'd love to come back during their $20 lunch specials and their $7 happy hour, looks like a great deal! See you then!

If you haven't checked out Jin Jia yet your missing out. We finally went for a birthday dinner with friends, and it was such a great experience. The space itself is cool. The décor is sleek and modern with a really upscale vibe. I loved the ceiling lanterns and the booths along the side. They make the place feel intimate and stylish. There's even a giant fortune cookie in the back that adds a fun. We kicked things off with cocktails. I had the Asian Pear Flower Martini, made with pear vodka and grapefruit, lemon juices, topped with a thin slice of pear. It's very light and refreshing. One friend ordered the Star in the Sky, an electric-blue pineapple and coconut martini, and another had the espresso martini (served without foam, which was interesting but still great) The menu blends Korean and Chinese cuisine, and everything is meant to be shared family-style, which we enjoyed. We started with the Jinjia Crispy Egg Roll (filling is king crab, prawn, mushroom) and the Prawn Toast "Menbosha." The Menbosha was the standout. It's crispy medallions of minced prawn served with a lemon cream dipping sauce. Absolutely delicious and a must-order!! For entrées, we shared the Chili Garlic Shrimp and the Sweet & Sour Beef (Korean-Chinese Tang-Su-Yug crispy beef) along with vegetable fried rice and a side of white rice. Portions were generous, we even had leftovers. The Tang-Su-Yug was beautifully plated with vegetables and a tangy glaze, the fried rice was light and fluffy, and the shrimp had just the right amount of heat without being overpowering. For dessert, we had the Trident Banana Lumpia, served with mascarpone, brown butter walnuts, and fresh fruit. It was fantastic and since we were celebrating a birthday our server brought it out with a sparkler, which made it extra fun. Speaking of service, our server was wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations that really helped guide our meal. We also checked out the happy hour and lunch specials while we were there, and the deals looked amazing. The bar area leading out to a small patio also looked like a great spot to hang out. We'll definitely be back!

Here's our bill: Sweet & Sour Beef $24.00 Kkan Sho Prawn $24.00 Chili Garlic Fried Chicken $23.00 Jja Jang (x2) $38.00 Shanghai Sour $18.00 Midnight Blossom $34.00 Milk Tea Fruit Tart $13.00 Beef was delicious. Definitely sweeter than expected, but tasty and good texture. Prawns were unnecessarily spicy. Texture and flavor were good, but this dish isn't usually supposed to be kick your butt spicy. Interesting take on one of our staples. Chicken was also spicier than it needed to be. Also tasty with good texture, but unsure why they feel the need to make these dishes to this spice level as a standard. Maybe make it an option to go spicy but have a normal spice level as the standard? Jja Jang Myeon was very good. We were pleasantly surprised by this dish as it's a staple and even our kids are good judges of jjajangmyon since we tend to eat it a lot. This passed the test for all adults and kids alike. Tasty and with good texture. Could've used more noodles to sauce ratio but pro tip: mix whatever leftover sauce into rice and eat it that way! Shanghai sour and midnight blossom drinks were both great. Got the milk tea fruit tart compliments of the restaurant, for our little one's birthday. The sparkler "candle" was fun for him and the tart was enjoyed by all. Definitely recommend this dish to top off your meal. Service was great. We called on a Saturday to see about getting a walk in table because online showed no reservations. When we walked in, half the restaurant was empty so I'm not really sure why they acted like they were doing us a huge favor getting us in. It stayed half empty the entire time we were there. Ambiance is on the fancier side (especially for these menu items) but fun. Not too fancy where you feel out of place. It's noisy in there but not too loud. We had 3 young kids and never felt out of place.

We love this place. Just found out their happy hour is 7 days a week so we stopped by on a Sunday. Great service. Our server, Amanda was awesome. The happy hour menu food is really good. Nice decor in the bar area. Great drink selection. Decent pricing. Highly recommend.

My first time dining here and was an excellent experience. I dined on a Monday late afternoon and there were only a few other patrons present. First thing I noticed was their booths are huge and each could probably accommodate 8 persons or more. I was seated at a table with a cushioned seat and it was very comfortable. I began with the Seaweed Cucumber Salad. I have to say it was much spicier than I expected. While not too spicy it definitely had a wake-up-your-taste-buds kick to it. Very unique flavors made it a worthy start to the meal. My main course was the Lobster Fried Rice. This where they lost a point as the waitress brought out the dish while I was still eating my salad. This should not happen in a classy restaurant such as Jin Jia, especially when there were only a few other customers present. The Lobster Fried Rice was big enough to share. It was a large portion and I was able to finish it off. The dish was very good and had a decent amount of chunks of lobster. The flavor was what I expected - not spectacular buy fit for fine dining. I'm glad I dined here and I recommend this restaurant. There's ample parking nearby by. The entrance door is nondescript and, at first, I tried entering from another door and Hwy was locked.

Nice upscale Chinese restaurant with a quiet & fancy ambiance. Tang-su-yug is pretty authentic, except they add strawberries here. The strawberry flavor was pretty distinctive and overpowering especially on the adjacent pieces of meat, and I personally didn't really care for it. Jja-jang noodle and Menbosha were both pretty tasty.

Hubby & I had date night at Jin Jia, and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is located in Desert Ridge, and there's plenty of parking out front. I started with the Shanghai sour, which was refreshing, and had the perfect dash of sweetness from the Chambord. The prawn toast took me back to childhood. My father loved ordering shrimp toast when we dined at Chinese restaurants, and this appetizer was amazing. I can't remember the name of the crispy beef entrée we ordered, but it was cooked perfectly, and not super spicy. The fried rice was immaculate! It was light, fluffy, and had the perfect blend of spices and seasonings. I would also recommend the La-Jo-Gi. I believe it was cooked in a brown sauce and it had lots of veggies. I would recommend Jin Jia for date night!

Came in for an early dinner around 5pm and tried a nice variety of dishes from the Happy Hour menu. We ordered the egg rolls, golden dragon wings, and steamed dumplings to start. For our mains, we had the Jin Jia Fried Rice, Chili Garlic Fried Beef "Kan-Fung-Yuk," and the La-Jo-Gi. The egg rolls were my favorite of the night, I even ordered a second round, though they were forgotten and never made it to the table. It wasn't a big deal since I was already full, and they removed them from the bill without any issue.The food is served family-style, but I did feel the portions were on the smaller side for the price. That said, the service was good, and the decor has a trendy, modern vibe. We sat in the lounging area, which my kiddos really enjoyed, and overall we had a fun dinner together.We'll definitely be back to try their happy hour next time.

We have been meaning to try this place out and went with my friend for a lunch. This place is huge and very fancy. A great dining place for date nights, family or friends. I loved the ambiance and the decor. We were seated immediately and asked if we wanted any drinks. Since we were just getting lunch picked from their lunch menu. Everything is priced at $20 with a main dish and side. We went with chili garlic shrimp and chili garlic fried chicken with a side of fried rice. The portion is really good and though both chicken and fish were chili garlic they tasted different and spot on. We loved both the dishes, the flavors were fantastic, very filling and enjoyed our lunch. The service is impeccable and totally worth the money. I would love to try their full menu and dinner options too. A must visit in desert ridge.

I've been here three times but hadnt have a chance to write a review! I've come here for dinner, HH, and lunch. The lunch special for 2 for $20 is the best. We got the crispy beef and jjajjangmyun and then kkangsho shrimp and jjambbong. The "main" dishes are on the smaller side and similar to what is given during HH. The noodles however are huge! We were so stuffed and brought some of the noodles back home. The quality is excellent - I just wish it wasn't so far out!

What a gem to find in Desert Ridge! The food and service was incredible. Food presentation was so artistic and talk about tasty! This restaurant is a foodie's dream come true! The pan fried dumplings were great. My Prawns with Mango were so delicious with a light but creamy sauce in which to dip the, (oh so lightly battered) huge prawns (6). My husband ordered Chile Garlic Fried Beef. A generous serving of spicy meat. We ordered chicken fried rice also which was a big surprise. A mound of perfect fried rice over which was a sliced seasoned chicken breast....a meal in itself! I did succumb to the fruit tart dessert. This was so beautifully presented it was a sin to destroy it. BUT I DID and it was awesome.

Live in Scottsdale and on a return from a trip across town my wife and I decided to stop by Desert Ridge and give Jin Jia a try. First thing that caught our eye was the design of the restaurant. Definitely gives an upscale vibe. We were there on a Tuesday night and it was pretty quiet, but seems like the type of place that could be poppin on a Friday and Saturday. From what I understand the food I'd Chinese-Korean fusion and the upscale Asian theme coincides with that. First the drinks...wife had a Citrus Blossom which was like a citrus flavored martini which was strong but very good/flavorful. I personally had an oolong caramel tea and it was one of the best teas I've ever had. I don't like sweeteners or anything in my tea and can say this was one of the most naturally flavorful teas I've ever tasted! We started our meal with their Prawn toast, which was excellent. It came out with 4 small circular "toasts" and looked a little small but were very dense and filling. For our main courses my wife ordered the Citrus Soy Chicken which was served cold along with some fried rice. I was skeptical at first of it being served cold but it was exceptionally flavorful and while the chicken is fried it was surprisingly light. I personally ordered the Spare Ribs which were AMAZING--tender, flavorful and spicy. We are trying to stay healthy and lose a little weight so we skipped dessert, unfortunately. Service was solid. The bartender and a single server were covering 5-6 tables together and both were friendly and attentive. We've always struggled to find a decent Asian place that we like out here, but Jin Jia will almost certainly become apart of our regular rotation.

Pretend "Zha Jiang myeon" made with what tasted like spaghetti noodles dripping in oil. NO FLAVOUR. An insult to the inventor of this dish.

The soup I had was flavorful and warming, delicious food. The mushrooms and vegetables were fantastic, the noodles were awesome, and the wagyu beef was debatable -- tough to eat and "strandy." Ambiance is nice, I was the only one there and it was 9:00pm. Service was great at the bar. read more

Visited Jin Jia with a group of friends. Overall the experience wasn't as good as we were hoping. I did enjoy my butterfly pea cocktail and the drinks seemed well done. The Bar seemed to know what they were doing and the service was good. For appetizers, Steamed and pan fried dumplings were both good with nice dipping sauce. Our party ordered hot and sour soup as well as egg drop soup. Neither are generally my favorites. The hot and sour was fine (not amazing) but the egg drop which contained crab was way too fishy for me to eat. And I like fish. As for entrees, we tried several. They were overdrenched in sauce. I do not recommend the eggplant and green beans. It was too much eggplant and almost no beans. The sauce was coagulated. Not the fresh veggie dish I thought I was ordering. The scallops with fried garlic was also not great and swimming in sauce. Not enough veggies in mine but someone else in our party got more. It was definitely not spicy (the main reason we ordered it) and the garlic was not fried as in the pic. The beef and veggie stir fries were pretty good. They didn't serve rice. (Why?) The entrees did not come out at the same time, which probably added to the sauce coagulation while people sat and waited for others to get their entrees. We enjoyed the drinks but In general this place is overpriced for mediocre food that is not worth it. Would rather have Chinese take out. It wasn't horrible but we will not go back. Update: to respond to the owner's somewhat condescending response, the issue is not being used to "Americanized" Asian food. I'm from Chicago where there is a broad range of authentic cuisine and I have eaten authentic Chinese and Korean (including in China and S Korea). The dishes at the restaurant were not prepared properly. Also if the menu says "spicy", it should be spicy (not just seasoned). read more

I searched reviews before coming here because as a vegan I can almost always get something at an Asian restaurant- after scanning the menu at Jin Jia they had loads of veggies, ma po tofu, and white rice- surely they could throw something together for me, right? I found a review on yelp saying they couldnt accommodate vegans but they replied saying they could so I was cautiously optimistic. Alas they can... but with plain steamed vegetables and steamed rice. They were super kind about it and acknowledged that they aren't set up to accommodate vegan or gluten free well. And luckily there are tons of other restaurants nearby so we were able to go somewhere else. Grateful for their kindness and willingness to check for me but disappointed that they can't accommodate vegans (or it sounded like vegetarians either as they said the reason was their sauces all had fish or meat). read more

Jin Jia is an upscale restaurant, especially compared to the other restaurants in Desert Ridge, which is a nice change. Everything seems really well thought out, from the beautiful decor to the tables with the lazy Susan in the middle, the gorgeous bathroom area, and even their web site is pretty. We came in on a Saturday night around 6:30. There were 3 other tables but by the time we left there were likely 8 or 9 tables. They have private seating off to one side and then multiple round tables in the remainder of the restaurant. Service was exceptional. I wish I remembered our server's name because she had great recommendations and was extremely helpful. Jin Jia has an appealing wine and alcohol menu. Quite varied so everyone should be able to find something they like. They also have a reserve wine list that is impressive. After ordering our drinks, our server suggested the crispy egg rolls and it was a wonderful suggestion. Lovely sauce and nice crispiness. For dinner we enjoyed wok fried dumplings, a delicious noodle dish, and chili garlic fried chicken ( I am still thinking about this one!!) All portion sizes are generous and we had leftovers to take home. This is not a 'pick up some asian food on the way home' kind of place. It is an upscale restaurant and the food is perfect! The prices do reflect the quality of the food and the level of service. The appetizers are all around $17 and noodle dishes are $25. The chicken dishes come in around $40-yikes. They do not bring rice out like some restaurants- they charge extra for that. I loved my meal and will be back, perhaps for a special occasion. read more

Service was excellent, and inside is beautiful. Loved our drinks, Star in the Sky, and Royal Fortune. Food was good, especially the Jin Jia Crispy Egg Rolls, Crab Egg Drop, Chili Garlic Fried Chicken, and the Wagyu Belly Chow Fun. The Black Bean Noodle (Jja Jang) was okay, it was drowning in sauce. The Milk Tea Custard with Fruit, and Glass Sweet Potatoes with Lemon Sorbet were good. Highly recommend a reservation, since it did get packed. I made mine 2 months in advance. read more

Such an elegant establishment! Just beautiful, really interesting menu, variety of food and beverage options on happy hour which I appreciate. The seaweed cucumber salad was interesting. The sauce is a bit tangier than I expected but still good. I had it prepared without the spicy kick and it was so refreshing! Appreciated Caroline's lovely attention and friendliness behind the bar. Pros: - The space was beautiful, from the entrance to that gorgeous bathroom hallway or the dining area - Service was excellent - our waiter was very attentive, and very knowledgeable; the food arrived quickly - The food was very tasty, and we did not leave hungry. - Tables are set up with lazy susans for easy sharing - Plenty of free parking at Desert Ridge Cons: - I was a little disappointed with the lack of vegetarian options (got the eggplant and string beans with rice, and it was delicious but it is one of only 3-4 vegetarian options on the menu) - The dishes aren't cheap (but again, the food is very good), and you have to pay extra for rice (which you would want with most dishes) - The menu was somewhat limited, especially considering this is a Chinese-Korean place. I'm used to very expansive menus when it comes to Chinese cuisine specifically - I know this is an upscale restaurant but I would have still really liked a fortune cookie at the end! read more

Patio lunch during spring weather with visiting sister from out of state. Super pleasant server with a chill zen about her. Tried a watermelon mule cocktail, it was very mildly flavored but had melon balls as a fun garnish. The lunch menu is pretty limited. I do not eat fried foods so I did ask a lot of questions before ordering. I could not get the server to describe the 12 mixed vegetables, but she was very helpful in steering me towards the Ghengis Khan Beef which was spicy and wok fried, not crispy. I really enjoyed this dish and the fried rice was simple and had amazing depth of flavor and a great short grain texture. More please! Sis ordered crispy prawns with sweet chili sauce and the steamed mixed vegetables. They turned out to be an exotic blend of mushrooms, peppers, maybe bok choy but all delicious (she shared). We didn't save room for dessert but I am so glad to have tried this special occasion place. It's not often I can enjoy a $20 lunch plus cocktail! read more

This is a great little find. Took over the space for CPK in Desert Ridge. If you have big hips or are on the plus side, you'll have to ask for a booth because the seats are definitely narrow and it is not comfortable. The menu is small which I actually appreciate because then it, in my opinion means they focus more on quality than quantity. The hot & sour soup was delicious. I would come in for this alone. The chili garlic friend chicken was awesome. The previous reviews were spot on with that recommendation. The pan fried dumplings were also good. The ribs weren't quite what I was expecting because they were more saucey but tender & fall of the bone for certain.Ghengis khan beef was also good. The winner was definitely the chicken!! Service was great. Everyone was very nice & attentive. Prices super reasonable for the portion sizes. Would definitely recommend read more

My family and I went to Jin Jia on Christmas Eve for dinner. We reserved ahead of time but for this particular evening it was not necessary as the restaurant was not very full. The restaurant itself was super swanky and had lots of seating options. We ordered the egg drop soup & egg rolls to start then ordered 3 entrees to share. We ordered 2 chicken dishes and 1 noodle dish. Every dish was perfection and I wish I could eat at Jin Jia everyday. I can not wait to go back Jin Jia! read more

Extremely disappointing experience at Jin Jia. After sitting at our table for 30 minutes, we were asked to move for a "reservation" that never showed up the entire time we were there. No help moving our drinks or menus, and the new table was awkwardly shaped, hot, and uncomfortable for four people, especially as I'm 9 months pregnant. Service was disorganized. My partner was told his dish would be crispy, it wasn't. All of our meals came out 5-10 minutes apart. One guest received the wrong dish, and even after telling them we were running late for an event, it took 15 minutes to fix the mistake. We reminded our server again that we were in a rush, but she still took her time bringing the check and cashing us out. Nothing was comped, not even the incorrect meal that came too late for my partner to enjoy. On top of all that, the food was overpriced and 3 out of 4 of us didn't like our meals. Summary: pretty tasty food, but salty and pricey. Came for happy hour pricing and got 5 dishes amongst 3 people for a mid-day post-lunch and total bill came out to be $100. I never post but this dining experience blows me away. My husband and I have been several times. We love to dine out and appreciate good food, service, ambiance and value. Our friends always comment that we have been to more restaurants in the Valley than anyone they know, so I feel we are a credible barometer. Jin Jia has the best Asian food we've enjoyed since moving to Phoenix 11 yrs ago. The layers of flavor and the unique preparations of the dishes at this establishment are exceptional. My experience was horrible secondary to terrible customer service with no service recovery! The $21 crab egg drop soup had no flavor, even after adding salt. The scallop dish and drink were good. However, service is just as, if not, more important than the meal. The server took my friends order, he had his back to me when doing so, and then walked off, never to be seen until my friends food was brought out. I mentioned to the manager my order was not obtained by the server when he dropped my friend's food off. The manager never came back to f/u or even offer an apology! How does a server not take a customer's order and it's ok?! Gratuity is not automatic, it's service based and my service lacked, big time! I won't be back, as there are too many options in the valley to go where I'm not appreciated! read more

We came for an early dinner tonight. The ambiance is lovely. The Happy hour menu is awesome and the food is delicious. Sadly, the service was horrendous. The restaurant wasn't busy and looked very well staffed. After we got our food no one ever checked back on us to see how the meal was, get more drink orders, fill our water, take empty dishes. We were missing one item we ordered but no one checked back. We waited for 40 minutes after we finished our food before I finally had to get up, find our server and ask for our check. read more

Very cool vibe. Interior design is sleek and modern and takes common things you see at mom-and-pop Asian restaurants (like lazy Susan tabletops) and elevates them. Food is served family style, so we ordered a bunch of items to share including: -King Crab Egg Drop Soup: savory, comforting, definitely add the garlic crisps served on the side -Chili Garlic Shrimp: fried in a sweet and spicy sauce, my favorite dish of the night! -Jja-jang Noodle: classic staple -Sweet & Sour Beef: never had lychee as one of the fruits in this dish before and I quite liked that addition! -Vegetable Stir Fry: variety of stir-fried veggies -Wagyu Beef Belly Chow Fun: another classic with premium meat -Beijing Watermelon Mule Cocktail: pretty sweet, but tasty My favorite was the chili garlic shrimp. I got the sweet and sour beef and the eggplant and green bean dish. Both were under seasoned, and the sauce for the beef was only sour with no sweet. I had to fix it with sauces I had at home. The fried rice was good but admittedly not amazing like the chicken. Not bad at all, but nothing special. Needed some more seasoning or flavors. Been here like over 50 times, bringing lots of friends. And today is the first day with the most horrible service. Waited for 45 min to get an appetizer and 65 min to get my main food. It could have been better if the server let us know the kitchen is busy and it may take long to get food. And it's been 85 min to finish my food. I wouldnt have stayed here if I had known it beforehand. I was the one asking if my order has been made. Never came to check if my food tastes good. So disappointed. Wish I could give zero star. PLUS I had to ask another server for my bill twice because she never visited me after the food was served. This horrible service was from the server who covers the dining area near the bar, not the one covering near the bathroom. read more

Food was grossly miss represented. sweet and Sour chicken is nothing but a bunch of deep fried breading, wheres the chicken? Food flavors covered with too much spice! Timing of the food served was over a period of 10 minutes for 3 entrees and then it was cold. Food not good, service not good, Ambiance presented pleasant but for a Saturday it never was busy. Visited Jin Jia on Halloween night, and loved it. This place looks like a place in New York with its chic, pretty decor, setting the stage for a very quiet and romantic evening. Our waitress was a gem, guiding us through the menu with her recommendations. We had the chicken fried rice, Jin Jia crispy egg rolls, and the chili garlic beef. The egg rolls? Absolutely divine - crispy, light, and filled just right. The chili garlic beef? Best sweet and sour beef I've tasted in my life - so much flavor! The fried rice was a hit, too, packed with taste. The only no no was the red lantern drink - tasted like NyQuil. But, that's just because I don't like things that aren't fruity. Overall, a 9/10 experience. Jin Jia is a beautiful upscale Asian fusion restaurant that has unique flavors and menu items. They took modest Chinese-Korean recipes and recreated them with a modern flare. I arrived a couple minutes into lunch time ending and my server still gave me the option to order from their lunch specials, which was nice. I opted for the seaweed cucumber salad to start and then ordered their kangpungi (chili garlic fried chicken) and their jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) from their lunch menu. The seaweed cucumber salad was my favorite dish of the day. Refreshing, crunchy, and so so flavorful. The chili crisp and vinegar added so much depth. I was addicted and kept going back for more. The fried chicken was crunchy and light but way too salty for my liking. The black bean noodles had nice silky, thick noodles but the sauce was not familiar at all. They modernized the noodles with different seasonings than what I'm used to in black bean noodles. It wasn't bad but it wasn't the best. The unique taste was different but still good. I can't quite pin-point what they added to their sauce. Service was standard and they packaged my leftovers for me. I thought the interior was gorgeous. I was the only person dining in the restaurant for a bit but the workers were constantly cleaning and moving. I will be back because I am curious about the other menu items. Menbosha was on their menu which is not often seen at other restaurants here in the states. read more

All without being imposing. We started with a cocktail(perfect), wok fried dumplings and Jinjia crispy egg rolls. All was perfect. Entrees included chili garlic shrimp, chili garlic fried chicken and vegetable stir fry. The shrimp, rice and veg were amazing. Chicken was just ok for me. Tasted amazing just a little chewy. This is a really yummy spot in desert ridge. It's so elegant looking when you walk in and the staff are very kind. Met up with some of my friends and we tried a few different dishes I showed below. I've been wanting to try Jin Jia for a while and I have to say, the food is quality. It's also important to mention that I ordered it as take out, but even still, the food was so good and the packaging was very thoughtful to help not spill anything. However, the 3 stars is solely because they messed up my order. I had ordered the wagyu belly chow fun but instead got the wagyu belly jjambong. Luckily, I love jjambong but I was still looking forward to getting the chow fun. That being said, the jjambong broth was perfectly seasoned, the thick noodles were perfectly al-dente, and there was a generous portion of tender beef. Surprisingly, the mushrooms were the highlight of the jjambong. There were wood ear and a thick mushroom that absorbed the broth.. definitely the stand out. I also got the prawn toast and man... it is a must try. I've never had anything like it before and it was perfectly crispy, even being takeout. Highly recommend the prawn toast. All in all, Jin Jia is legit in quality and authenticity - albeit extremely pricey compared to mom-and-pop shops that sell the same dishes for much less. Though my experience started poorly with the wrong order, I can recognize Jin Jia as a high-end experience for a once in a while fancy spot. read more

I've been to China Chili three times now, so I can safely say it's my favorite Chinese restaurant…read morein town. On my most recent visit, I stopped by on a Friday evening for dinner. They have complimentary parking in the front, side, and back of the restaurant. There aren't a ton of spots, but there's street parking close by too. Ambiance (3.5/5): Like most Chinese restaurants, China Chili is pretty no frills. Which isn't a problem for me at all, I'm there for the food. It's a spacious restaurant with both regular tables and circular tables that rotates (good for large groups sharing dishes). Service (4/5): Fantastic service is also not something I expect at a Chinese restaurant. Yet again, I'm there for the food. With that being said, service, while not overly friendly, is typically pretty efficient. Which I always appreciate. Drinks (4/5): Pretty much your standard soft drinks, tea, and a limited selection of alcoholic beverages. My favorite option is their buddha beer which you don't see in a lot of places. It's a lager and it's in a buddha-shaped bottle. It doesn't get much better than that. Food (5/5): The first time I came was for one of my favorite dishes... Peking duck. There aren't a ton of spots in Phoenix that have it, but out of the ones that do, China Chili serves it at a high level. You can go with either crepes or baos (additional surcharge). The duck is absolutely to die for. Flavorful, juicy meat with crispy skin that fits in perfectly into your mini "sandwich" with green onions and Hoisin sauce. For a reasonable price too. Their food outside of duck is of a similar quality. I especially like their flat noodles with beef. Even classic dishes like sesame chicken have a twist here. It's sliced chicken rather than fully breaded chicken. Just as good as the typical way, the sauce is delicious. My only complaint? They give you a pretty small helping of white rice with your dish. Outside of that, the portions are generous. Everything I've had at China Chili has been a hit. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

The shrimp was excellent. Very early in our meal they were persistent in clearing our table. (we're still working on that); when they picked up the last few plates plates the server had our check in her hand. By golly she wanted us out of there! (Um, we kinda wanted another glass of wine...). Why? The place wasn't packed. Why the rush? The food is fine, as I mentioned, but the vibe was off for us. I "might" understand wanting to turn our booth if there was a wait for tables, but that was not the case. Will we return? Maybe for lunch or for something to go. The food is decent here and their hot mustard is delightfully potent.

Quite a lot of food and for a very reasonable price! I think the combo was around $10. If you are a fan of bean sprouts, this is your place. The chow mein had a massive pile of beansprouts on top. The noodles were indeed crispy but they was such a meager portion compared to the beansprouts. The fried rice was pretty basic but also a generous portion and the two tempura shrimp had a nice crispy batter. I tried some of the eggroll too which is one of the most unique versions I've had since the super crispy outer layer was either a different preparation or different wrap material than I'm used to. The interior was made primarily of beansprouts too. Service was good. Our food was prepared fairly quickly.

The fact that the restaurant was very close to our Airbnb, and did not require a reservation also felt like a sign to make the visit. The spot is definitely trendy, and parking was tricky. Uber/Lyft would be my recommendation, but there is a paid parking garage down a couple of streets. We didn't need a reservation since we had a small party, but I would recommend if if you're coming with a party of four or more. We sat at the bar and ordered four dishes from different categories, which was a great way to sample the menu; though honestly I think we probably could have gotten away with just 3 dishes for a party of 2. We tried Yam Mamuang Boran (old-style green mango salad), Boo Pad Pong Garee (crab curry with ginger), Tom Yum Haeng Sen Yai (dry tom yum with wide noodles), and Naem Khao Tot (crispy rice salad with fermented pork sausage). The noodles and salad were definitely my favorite though everything was seasoned really well and incredibly flavorful. What I loved most was how thoughtfully prepared everything felt. Instead of feeling like a curated dining experience, it felt rushed and a bit stressful trying to juggle multiple dishes plus our drink: Karaoke king (which would have been good if I had a second to enjoy it) Overall, it was still a nice meal and great atmosphere on par with other Thai restaurants. My advice: skip the chef's selection and order à la carte. Just be prepared for the food to come out quickly and all at once.

Jin Jia is a beautiful restaurant with an amazing ambiance. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the service was excellent, making for a very pleasant dining experience. We tried the bok choy, pork fried dumplings, chili garlic chicken, citrus chicken, and chicken fried rice. It would have been better if there was less sauce to allow the natural flavor of the bok choy to shine through. The pork dumplings, unfortunately, fell short. They lacked enough filling, and the dough's consistency wasn't to my liking. The chili garlic chicken was tasty with a little heat, and the flavor was good, but the use of chicken thighs made it somewhat fatty, which wasn't ideal. The chicken fried rice was standard, with good flavor and chicken that reminded me of teriyaki chicken. The sweet & sour pork (tangsuyuk) is a must-try. Perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside -- one of the best I've ever had. They even have soju, which was such a fun surprise! We made somaek (soju + beer) at the table and the staff were friendly and attentive the whole time. The atmosphere is elegant, making it perfect for a date night or a celebration. The food we got was good but the experience as a whole was not. We ordered 3 entrees but the server forgot to put in one of them so we didn't get it. We got our water refilled with something that was not regular water so we had to flag the server down to correct that. We had no plates for our entrees and asked the person that brought them for plates. I guess she told our server so we waited for plates which never came as it turns out the person told our server the wrong table. At least there were plates sitting on the table next to us or we still might be waiting for them. I visited Jin Jia several times in 2023 and returned in 2025--this place never disappoints! We tried multiple dishes, and every single one was absolutely amazing. Everyone in my party agreed on how delicious everything was. Yes, some may find the prices a bit high, but the quality and flavor are worth it. I'd rather pay more for great food than waste money on something mediocre, and Jin Jia delivers every time. The ambiance is perfect for a date night or a group gathering. The service was amazing, and the food, especially the steamed dumplings, sweet and sour beef, and Jang noodles, was absolutely delicious. While it's a bit pricier, the taste and atmosphere totally made it worth it. I do wish they had more tea options, though.
