I want to start off by saying that I have never been a nail person, but I took a leap of faith and decided to get UV Gel nails since it came highly recommended from a friend. I am so happy I tried it and that I came to Jin Family Nails. Jason is THE BEST nail technician. He's so detail oriented and asks thorough questions (triple checks the nail shape you want, gives you different color/style options). I've brought in several photos and he's easily been able to replicate what I wanted - So talented! This place is BUSY so always call for an appointment. There's a parking lot on the side (by Dunkin). This nail salon has one good nail girl and she left. I've been here twice since then and both times had bad experiences but this last time was exceptionally horrible. I went in asking for a fill and solid pint color and got messy thick and lumpy nails that looked disgusting with paint chipped off before I even left. I went back asking for it fixed and they said it looked bad because I didn't get French tips. So I got French nails and they made me pay extra but whatever. I'm halfway home when I realize there is a hair in my nail so now I have to go back for the third time to get my nails fixed. Having come here by mistake when I was supposed to be at a different nail salon... worked out beautifully!! The cucumber pedicure was delish & 25.00. I don't remember the guy's name but he did an awesome job. Ann did my gel refill mani & she was great. Gel fill 35.00 which is pretty good. They also mentioned if I chipped a nail etc.. Come in for fix & it's free of charge. Seems like pretty good customer service ! The pedi chairs were comfy... They were playing some nice mellow music & had a great fish tank. I will not go anywhere else for my nails, no exaggeration. My nails were in rough shape when I first started coming here, and they've come such a long way these past few years! The UV gel they do is incredible - Mike (the owner) takes pride in the work he and his team do, so invests in the more expensive product, but the quality is evident. My nails no longer break or crack- they've lasted up to 6 weeks (obviously they were grown out but otherwise still in tact). They're busy so always call for an appointment, and know they have a cash discount so bring cash if you can! Plenty of colors to choose from, or if you have something in mind they'll help make it happen for you! Couldn't recommend this place more - every friend who has come with me has become hooked. read more

Michael was great. I called to ask if they had time for a fill in and they got me in right away. I told Michael I only had an hour and 15 minutes so I didn't have time to soak off my powder gel, instead he just took off the nails (that we're horribly put on by another salon) and sculpted my nail with the UV Gel. Despite being in a rush due to my time constraints Michael gave me exactly what I wanted and they don't look cheap or rushed. I have a subtle coffin shape with marble and I love it! I wanted to like this place so badly. I heard that they were good and more importantly(to me), fast- especially with uv gel. I got a fill in and a pedicure on Tuesday- it was fast but I will say I noticed immediately how none of the techs were sanitizing anything in between customers. I should have left but I was desperate to get my nails done late afternoon on my only day off before a big event. I felt like my nails were satisfactory, and I had no issue until the next day. My cuticle started swelling and feeling sore. I got an infection in my finger that hurt so bad, and so did my niece a a few months ago from the same place! I definitely will not be returning or suggesting anybody use this place until they start properly sanitizing their tools and workspace. I almost ended up at urgent care but today the infection is finally subsiding after intensively applying neosporin for the past couple days. read more

Let me start off by saying the customer service here is amazing 10/10. I got a pedicure, nail removal and full gel set. Greeted and seated immediately upon walking in. Pedicure was great. The owner asked me what I wanted for my nails after a horrible set had been done else where. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he introduced me to his nail tech Jason and insured me that Jason was great and I would walk out of there happy & boy was he right. From beginning to end Jason involved me in every aspect and this man knows how to shape a nail to perfection. He didn't rush he took his time and made sure the shape and application was flawless. Coming from NYC it's refreshing to find a place where you aren't rushed and staff isn't rude. I highly recommend this place for all your needs and if you want a nice full set I recommend Jason. Only down side was the price but once again coming from NYC I rather pay for great service than cheap service. read more

I travelled from Long Beach to go here because I don't like any salons closer to me and worry how well they are cleaning during COVID . This place was wonderful. Small, quiet and clean. All pedicure chairs had plastic sheeting dividing customers and staff. Joy did a fantastic mani and pedi, gave a wonderful firm massage but asked first about the pressure . Very friendly as well. Horrible experience I was referred by my mom and my sister-in-law to get a full new set of ombré pink with white with Michael and within two days two nails started lifting I went back and he fixed them three days later three of them broke off I called to tell him and every single day afterwards he said there was no appointments available anytime any day I stop by there and they were all sitting around I was not the only one with this experience my sister-in-law's nails fell off after four days I've been getting my nails done since I was four years old and I'm 32 now and Work in the Salon business obviously they're watering down their product or something is not right ... not worth $130 I spent for a full set and a basic pedicure that lasted three days never again!!!! I wish I could give the place (I refuse to call it a business) 0 stars. I was a customer there tonight and I was horrified and disgusted by the encounter I witnessed between the owner, Mike, and a customer. I was there for a manicure/pedicure and I overheard a customer tell the staff that there was no hot water in her pedicure tub. The staff tried to add hot water, but to no avail. A male customer checked the water heater and notified Mike that the heater was broken. The customer at the end of her service quietly told an employee that she did not want to pay the full amount because her toes never even went into the water because it was ice cold. Mike responded by SCREAMING at the poor customer and accosting her. She stayed calm and he continued to escalate. She said that she would pay for part of the service, but not the full amount because she did not receive the full service. He continued to scream at her and then grabbed her by the arm and said he was taking off her polish. He physically grabbed her and I had to step in and tell him to take his hands off of her. At this point he let go and his employees told him to calm down. It was scary how fast the owner was escalating things and screaming at a customer let alone in front of other customers. He threatened to call the police yet he did not follow through, assuming because he knew the customer would tell the police he physically touched her. A nail salon should be customer oriented and this is no way to run a business. I will never go back and I would highly recommend for everyone to stay away, especially if you are a female. I certainly will not give them any of my money. read more

I only come to this nail salon for Lily. She is absolutely incredible, efficient and lovely. Mike the owner is rude, snobby and difficult to speak with. He recently banned all gel manicures done by Lily because they weren't the "fancy manicures." I have gone to this salon for 4 years now and am absolutely disgusted by how Mike runs his business. Whoever says otherwise probably works construction ********UPDATE******** I intentionally kept my original review above since i still believe that the quality of the product and work remain solid.... so as much as I hate to update this review with a negative note, I feel like I have to. Been coming here for a year and a half now and I do have to stay - the product that's used on my gel nails remains quality. It is the unprofessionalism of the owner which has made me reconsider. In one and a half years that I've been coming here, I always kept up my nails at home. Nails break. It happens. And I don't blame anyone for it since I do know the salon uses good quality stuff. But when my nails l do break, I really don't feel like being back at the place to have it fixed and pay more $. I have the means to fix it myself at home. So I do. The owner has never said anything to me until my last visit. As per the owner, I will now have to pay $60 instead of $45 (which is what I've been paying this far) for my gel fill-ins. When I inquired as to why that is, I was explained that it is because I upkeep my own nails in between visits and don't come there often enough. To me this is pretty much a bold statement of "we don't make enough $ off of you, so this is how we will make up for it". A shame really.... because I do like the work performed. They're nice and tend to run on the cheaper side, but they're not great so you get what you pay for here. They recently got a renovation and conveniently raised their prices, but they're not giving you any added services for the added price. This was my third time going to mike. After reading all of the reviews after my experience today I am happy I'm not the only one who noticed his behaviors. My nail completely ripped off a day after I got them done. He tells me they never break etc he tried to tell me not to get a thick French because they don't make your hands look slim. He charged me a different price last time than he did this time. I confronted him and he screamed at me in front of the customers. He is so unsanitary and was cutting his cuticles with the same clipper he used on me and then put it back. Never again read more

Today was the first time I've ever visited the salon. A friend of mine took me with them. The salon is quiet and relaxing. Mike did my nails and he took his time, focusing on what I wanted and asking me what I wanted and what I liked as well, giving me options, which I really appreciated. He also asked me a couple questions and got to know me, since I was a first time costumer. Their nails are amazing and they give the option of making the nails thin, which I enjoy because I hate thick gel or acrylic nails. While doing my nails, Mike also mentioned they have this nail machine which can print ACTUAL photos onto people's nails! I can't wait to possibly try it out! So cool. read more

I never had this happen in all he years I was getting my nails done in New Jersey, my nails lasted a month without fill. I also think I got a fungus on three of them. I always come here when I want to get my nails done. They always come out just the way I want and everyone is very friendly and actually talks to me when I come in! The owner Michael is very nice, and I usually go to Jason for any type of manicure. I have gotten gel polish, dip powder, acrylics, and pedicures. Can't complain about the way anything came out! The only thing I noticed is that they dip your fingers in the dip powder, which many nail places do, but it's not the most sanitary way to use the powders. read more

I wanted power gel and he was like No no poly gel so much better for your nails. Every time I do the poly gel like he says I end up spending at least 110 $120 on nails every two weeks when they're supposed to last at least four. Second time there. Will not be going back. First time got regular manicure which chipped after 1 day. Also owner started to do my manicure because i guess his customer was a no show. When she walked in 40 minutes late he proceeded to yell at her and the two of them were arguing while he was working on my nails. He then got up went to his regular customer and sent someone else over to finish my manicure. I don't know why but i decided to try again and went back for gel mani and pedicure. It was not that busy but from minute you walk in you feel rushed....they rush you to pick color and move you through as quickly as possible. One side of salon appears to be the more experienced (better?) nail techs who work on regular customers and it appears to be all about that side of the salon. I understand you have to take care of regulars but new customers deserve attention too. I told the woman doing my nails she could cut them - just as long as they were all the same. As i am driving home i realize my nails on right hand were cut much shorter than left. They look totally different. I don't know why i went back.....Will not be returning. read more
