    Both sandwiches were wrong.
    Jamee M.

Ordered two sandwiches and both were wrong. One I asked for no onions and tomato's with extra cheese. It didn't have extra cheese and had both onions and tomato's on it. Paid an extra dollar for the extra I didn't get. The other sandwich I asked for extra meat and cheese and it had neither. Paid an extra two dollars for that which I didn't receive.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS! PLEASE SUPPORT!…read more I have lived in California, New York, Washington, Kuwait, Iraq, and now Virginia and this eatery is where I have found the best food! The service was amazing and the people were so kind even when I ordered way too many items for 2 adults and a child. You can't go wrong with anything here but I highly recommend the chicken noodle soup, the club, and the cold plate; the pasta salad was to die for and SO fresh! Had to end up taking food home because we couldn't finish everything and we definitely weren't letting it go to waste! Overall, this place makes you feel like you're apart of their family. You can tell they use high quality ingredients and really care about the people they serve and the food they put out. I can't wait to come back to try different sandwiches!

Wendy was doing double duty handing both the counter, as well as making the sandwiches. I ordered a Corned Beef and Pastrami Sandwich with a side of Potato Salad. My Wife had a Turkey Sandwich with a side of Macaroni Salad. Both were excellent. They are generous with the meat on their sandwiches here, and we probably could have split one for both of us along with the sides that we ordered, but what the hell, you live only once! Chris, the owner popped in, just as Wendy finished making our sandwiches, and chatted with us for a while. He and Wendy both made us feel right at home! If there one small critique, I would encourage them to get a liquor license. Otherwise, everything was great! I highly recommend this wonderful eatery in Portsmouth!

I walked around the whole store, and while it looks nice, the prices are high. For example, Nathan's hot dogs that are usually around $5 at other stores were $9.19 at Publix. That's not in everybody's budget. I wish they had better bargains like Kroger does. All I can say is, I went in once to check it out, thought it might be a regular shopping spot for me, but it's not. I wanted to love it, and I do like it for certain things--maybe if I want a sub, pizza, or some sushi. But for everyday, weekly, or monthly shopping, it's just not for me. On the bright side, the store was very clean, and the employees were friendly (though not super helpful). The customers seemed nice too. At the end of the day, it comes down to preference and price range. I'd say it's worth trying at least once to see if it fits your needs.

TASTE has quickly become one of my absolute favorite spots in Suffolk. I've loved just about…read moreeverything I've tried on the menu, and this visit was no exception. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon after church and ordered the chicken salad sandwich (Freemason). Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving. When the weather's nice, I always try to grab a seat on the patio. It's such a relaxing spot to enjoy a good meal and soak up a little sunshine. Also, I have to shout out their potato salad is one of the best around. Creamy, just the right amount of seasoning, and always hits the spot. TASTE is the kind of place that makes you proud to support a growing local chain. Great food, great atmosphere, and always a solid experience.

Taste is an old staple in our area, one that was much better before Covid, than it is currently…read more I was feeling peckish and so my sweet husband of 51 years thought... "Let's go to Taste!" Based on visits over the past 5 years, which have been spaced further and further apart, I was hesitant. And my hesitancy proved to have been warranted. Husband's Northender on Multi grain My Princess Anne also on multi grain. Bread was so dry and stale that I simply struggled to eat the filling. The tomatoes were that hard, white inner core that most people would not feature on a sandwich. Finally in frustration I walked up and asked for a slice of baguette, which was the main meal's only redemption. Let's not even talk about what has become barely a step up from snack pack desserts. Both my (Bakehouse--oh my gosh, are they kidding?) gold brownie and my husband's blueberry mishmash had one bite from them before they too went straight into the trash. (Both tasted more of chemical, than of food) Sadly, what used to be one of our favorite weekly visits pre-Covid, has become less than lackluster, and far from its name. Rather it should be renamed yet again, from the original, Taste Unlimited, to Taste and now should be called, Tasteless. For the price of $50, one would think the meal would at least be edible. Hopefully this review will help me remember why we stopped going. Definitely do not recommend.

Having "NY Bagel" is literally, sacrilegious to those of us that know WHAT a true "NY Bagel" is. Their name hold true to form, what a NY Bagel is. I got "The DON," pastrami piled high (NOT "Katz" high, but a Chesapeake high, with Cold Slaw and a pickle. When I tell you delicious!! The WATER's PH balance is the same as NY, making the bagel, an authentic "NY Bagel." The Cold Slaw... my god today... I haven't had slaw like this since I left NYC!! Ambiance, basic, not very reminiscent of NYC, BUT, every menu item is named after an area in NY. So pleased. I'll be back!!!

I know bacon, sausage, ham, (and Taylor Ham if you're from Jersey like me) are the standard breakfast sandwich meats, but try the pastrami! Poppy bagel, 2 eggs included, cheese, and some pastrami brings back my east coast state of mind. The midtown sandwich is also a great option. I know a lot of Southerners don't care for the greatness of a bagel, they prefer their biscuits and that's all well and good. But wow, NYBC does a wonderful job of representing the area where I grew up.
