It pains me to say this but Jimmy John's has recently replaced Subway as my default lunch option while at work. And it's not simply because they're a shorter walk for me. JJ's is lightning quick, the sandwiches are tasty, and the prices reasonable. All good things! I typically get one of the 8" sub sandwiches as opposed to the Giant club sandwiches... they're $1 cheaper and always leave me full. The Big John, Totally Tuna, and Turkey Tom are my mainstays. Pro tip - add dijon and add sauce. Don't get me wrong, Subway sill has a spot on my rotation, but JJ's is a welcome change of pace. read more

This may sounds unreal but there have been multiple occasions when we have hung up, turned to tell someone what we ordered only to have it delivered before we could finish the conversation. They make a good sandwwich and they make it quick! If you're at the store, they'll have the sandwich ready for you by the time you're getting your napkins. If you have it for delivery, they'll get it to you by the time you've finished using the bathroom after you hung up the phone. And I've got mad respect for the bike delivery guys in their goofy red spandex. I love the Vito and their tuna sub is very tasty. There's something about that bread that makes it work so well. Jimmy Johns is well known for their speedy service. My sandwich was a standard menu item and ordered quickly. The lines move remarkably fast. Sandwiches are made, wrapped, and up for you in record time from any sandwich shop I have ever been in. The sandwich itself was good, nothing spectacular that stood out for me. However, it had good fresh ingredients. The bacon was crisp and fairly standard. I would have gone with 3 stars but the speed definitely bumps it up a star. If I am in there area again and need a fast lunch Jimmy Johns will be on my short list. it is a little hard to find if you are not familiar with the area due to the 2nd floor location in this building. read more

I grew up on Togo's, Subways, and Quizno's.... and I'm rating Jimmy Johns 5 stars based on the following: Service - 5 stars: I'm huge on service and speed. I walked... no line. The cashier was busy rearranging her drawer but the guy at the counter was ready to take my order. I kid you not -- this guy was standing there, knife already in the bread -- ready to cut - just waiting for me to give him my order. #2 and #9 --- by the time I had paid -- I just waited another 30 seconds and the subs were done. Usually -- speed != quality. Here... they are able to make the best tasting sandwiches with amazing speed. I can definitely appreciate an organization that takes pride in their speed and service, and quality of employees -- and I've experienced this in all Jimmy John's that I've been to in Seattle. This is one of the few places that is open on Sunday for lunch within walking distance of the convention center, and even though I've never heard of Jimmy Johns being the southern boy I am, a colleague who grew up in the Midwest convinced me to give it a try. This was one of the best subs I've had in a long time that didn't come from a local deli. Bread was excellent, and even though the sandwich had only meat, lettuce, onion, and mayo, it tasted like a sub should. It wasn't drowned by all the other salad items and sauces that some of the other national chains use. I had the Big John (the #2). It was ready as soon as I paid for my sandwich. And I have to give them a star for the music. The staff was playing some old Bob Mould/Sugar that I listened to in my undergrad days in Austin. This is the quickest and best place to get lunch at PAX. It's in a mall about 2 blocks away from the convention center but well worth the walk. Every day we made the trek because we knew the food would be good, the line short and that we would have it quickly. I enjoy Jimmy John's in my hometown so I expected to love it here and did. Located far away enough from the convention center as to not attract huge crowds which was nice. Subs are much better than Subway. read more

Horrible experience here. Took my daughter in law to a show at the 5th Avenue on 4-10-19 and only had 15 minutes to grab a bite. We decided to stop in for a sandwich. We were greeted with a hello ladies, we close in 15 minutes. Ok. Having never been here before we did not really know how to order as the menu is overwhelming to study quickly so just picked a standard turkey sandwich. We felt very rushed at the mention of closing in 15 minutes. It is my own fault for not studying the menu to learn that you have to ask for mayo, mustard, pickles and most condiments. The cashier never offered any condiments and did not ask if we wanted anything on the sandwich. The sandwich came with turkey and lettuce. No condiments and very dry. They had been cleaning for closing before we arrived and so I am guessing they were already putting things away and did not want to get stuff out again? They had the music blaring so loud I could not talk to my daughter across the table. The music was "death metal"? Head banging metal with people yelling the words rather than singing. Or as I call it screeching ! It was very uncomfortable. If you are a business and you are open until a certain time you should stay open for business until that time just like if it was just after opening. Beware! The cutting boards were cleaned, leaned against a cold food counter, but their ends were touching the floor. I never get sick of these subs! The bread is soft and incredible. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful. I always order the Italian Night Club with hot peppers, extra lettuce and extra Italian dressing. All those extras come free with subs and clubs. Don't forget to ask them to cut it in half! Ah, this sandwich shop is on the other end of my block from my workplace and oh wow is it sooooo good. i only wish i had known about this place the day they opened. My sandwich is #9 with no mayo, no onion and it is *perfect.* The bread is crunchy-ish on the outside and soft on the inside, while there isn't a complete overabundance of lettuce on the sub like every sub shop i've ever been to heaps on, bar none. The staff is very very friendly and i've never gotten my sandwich back to work wrong. I pay 8.42 for a decently large sub and a large soda - the price is higher than the other sub shops, but they make up for it and then some with the service, taste, and speed in which i get my food. The music is sorta loud but it's smack in the middle of a business district so most people don't actually eat in the restaurant, as far as i can tell. Best sandwich place ever! read more

And I hate mentioning these things, because I'm beginning to think that bad service and messy restaurants are signs not of laziness on the part of the staff, but under-staffing, low morale, and probably even lower pay, but even still--the state of the place was enough to make even the grimiest of new-york street vendors apologize profusely and consider showering. Were I a braver man, I would describe to you in precise detail the ensuing distress, the remaining office-time so uncomfortable, the missed gym-trip so necessary, the long-awaited date that evening so distastrous--but I am not. Ah, my go-to sub sandwich shop. Friendly and quick service, and even when it's sometimes busy at lunch hour, the most I've ever had to wait was maybe 7 minutes. More often than not, within five minutes I'm back out the door with my sandwich in hand. The sandwiches here are consistent in their quality, too. Out of the several ones I've purchased and had, I've gotten maybe three duds that were a tad dry, or not as fresh. They've gotten my specific order incorrect around two times, out of the dozens of sandwiches I've bought. Pretty awesome track record (considering that I always opt for specific requests), if you ask me. The only unusual thing about this place is that it can be confusing to get to, because you have to find a door into the complex it's in - and that complex has about three or more entrances, on different streets. But if memory serves me right, the doors at Union & 6th are as close to them as you can get. read more

I usually do not comment on certain establishments because what would be the point. I mean McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, now Jimmy Johns, you kind of know what to expect. Decent food (if that's what you like) and below mediocre service. I work in the building that has a Jimmy John's so it is convenience, especially on days like today where you get a ton of stuff at the last minute. I get my usual favorite, #14 with sprouts. Before I can finish saying what I want they are already making my sandwich and is one step from applying their signature black stamp. Today was no different but as I finished paying, I smiled and was looking for my wonderful sandwich, well low and behold it was in between the register and the gift cards. Okay seriously though. You did not need to be that fast and act like there were so many people in line that you had to lay my sandwich rolling by the register. Sigh. Anywho, that was not going to stop me from enjoying my #14 and getting back to the mounds of work that I had waiting for me. read more

Sure, Jimmy John's is better than Subway, but is that really saying much? My main umbrage with them is the use of the word "gourmet.' To me, that would signify upscale ingredients and yet the sandwiches feature standard deli sliced meat, one kind of bland cheese, iceberg lettuce, mealy tomato slices, and a bunch of mayo to cover that all up. I have to give them a 5 star because the people there were so nice!! Jimmy John's already is one of my favorite sandwich places. Their Turkey Tom (#4) with no sprouts is literally the most simple but delicious thing to eat. Of course I want to eat Jimmy John's because not only are they tasty, but they are also fast and cheap. So I went to this Jimmy John's and ordered my regular meal. "Hello! Turkey Tom with no sprouts and no cheese with a pickle". They were quick so they started making my sandwich. I went to pull out my wallet and....... I didn't have anything in my wallet!! No money, no cards. OMG... I forgot that I had switched wallets!! So all my money was in another bag!! How embarrassing!!!! Then I thought, no worries, I have a pay check. So I told the cashier, I will be right back to get some cash, and went to the US Bank to cash my check.. BUT they said we can't cash your check because it is a Wells Fargo check. The only way we can cash your check is if you open up an account with us.... I was like.. uhhhhhhhhh... i don't even have my ID with me. SHOOT!! I went back to the Jimmy Johns to tell them what was going on.. and they just offered me the sandwich anyway. I promised to bring the money in tomorrow and they were perfectly OK with that. Fast and quick service? Definitely live up to their famous motto! As soon as I stepped in through the door I was immediately acknowledged and greeted. The service here was very friendly. As I was waiting I kept seeing the cyclist delivery workers rushing back and forth with their deliveries. Cool how they have that. :) After I ordered my Porker sub I was putting away my wallet in my backpack when I heard that my sandwich was ready. Well DANG that was hecka quick. Was nice cause I was in a rush. Definitely could be making some of these sandwiches at home...but I don't have the luxury of heading back to my apt....and I'm just lazy. I'm a die hard Jimmy John's fan to begin with, so in full disclosure, it would take quite a bit to get a bad review from me. That said, I work across the street from this location and order the same thing on a very regular basis. It occurred to me today that it's rather impressive to have such high consistency considering how often I get a sandwich here - not once have I gotten stale bread, tomatoes when I ask for none, or the wrong cookie or chips. Those are small things where you'd give the benefit of the doubt if they occurred once or twice, but this Jimmy's is always right on the money!
