Our favorite very old deli in West Palm Beach was sold 1.5 years ago and gone gone gone are the DELIGHTFUL happy charming old staff and the perfect old world flavors, cooking. In Sarasota where we just lived the last 5 years, a new deli closed after just 2 years, and there is nothing left. We've been visiting family in Sarasota every year for 40 years. Gone too in the Twin Ciries is the ownership by brothers Scot and Stu of Hopkin's beloved Crossroads Deli just last year. The new owners, a corporation owning 6-8 other restaurants have CHANGED almost all the recipes for breads, cakes , wonderous cookies and 80 % of all pastries! No more butter, no more fine ingredients and no more of their once " Grossinger's taste/quality" STELLAR seeded rye bread! They even eliminated the lemon flavoring. In their incomparable lemon coconut cake! Their stuffed cabbage is one of their only true deli dishes left. Sandwiches are half their original size...... heart breaking after going there 3-4 times a week for 25 years........ Cecil's of course had to cut back on the $$ use of butter in their pastries. But they have WORKED VERY HARD to still retain their wonderous long long ago heart warming flavors. ALL their sandwiches are AUTHENTIC. Old world New York City flavors! Made with care and love. My husband loves their beautiful generous Nova salmon platte. Noshing away happily! I love their pastrami Rachel's with plentiful half sour pickles lots of Russian dressing and creamy Cole slaw. Mmmmmm. I hope and pray Cecil's owner refrains for a long long time from selling his rare business. We must support Cecil's too.... Or lose it with all the others, and lose part of our joy and heart. Old school all the way. There's a restaurant in the back, and a full-scale deli counter in the front. It is such a good stop. They have their own private parking lot too. Wood paneling, and a bunch of local reviews all over the walls. Clean, normal sound. Simple, with excellent customer service, and a huge menu that will have something that you like. Packed the midweek afternoon we visited, and we did not wait for a table. Loved my bowl of Matzo Soup, superb broth and the Matzo was delicious. Enjoyed my BLT on whole wheat and the homemade potato salad was amazing! Had a cherry cobbler for dessert that was incredible. Restaurant has been open for over 70 years, and I met the owner/manager, Cecil, afterward, and he just oozes customer service being a priority. It's a must-visit place.

All right, five stars!…read more I come here a lot - dates with my children, lunch with my mom and sister - at least 1x/month. The service is always extremely friendly (even to the kids) and helpful. The seating availability is good - patio when it's warm, booth or back table when it's chilly. The food is good! I often like to try something new, and I've never been disappointed. On the other side is the eat-in, take-out deli sandwiches, that are made to order. The quality of the ingredients is excellent. The bread is freshly made (crispy baguette type) and you have a choice of Roast Beef, Roast Turkey, Tuna Salad, Smoked Ham, or Corned Beef. All sandwiches are $16.50 each (including tax) and come with a choice of mayonnaise, spicy stone ground mustard, red leaf lettuce, thin sliced red onion, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, raw grated horseradish, pickled jalapeno, and roasted bell pepper. The default includes all toppings so if you don't want everything, be sure to specify what you do NOT want. Surprisingly, they do not carry any diet soda, nor do they stock any national brands (only local pop). There is a large menu on the wall, and you order at the counter and pick up the order (no table service). The food was attractively presented, and very, very good. My only gripe (besides the lack of diet pop) is that it's on the expensive side for lunch. Two sandwiches, a couple of bags of chips, and a couple of cans of pop will easily top $40, although I'd say the quality is top-notch.

I go to the store wearing a mask due to my immune system issues and the ongoing pandemic, and they have helped stay safer when checking out by allowing me to take pull the receipt myself, and showing me how to wave my card over the chip scanner.

When I walked in, it was quite crowded with a lot of other Jews ( I am also Jewish) which I always take as a great sign, but the selection was super limited compared to what I am used to and the prices were incredibly high for most normal items. I know there is always a large markup for kosher items, but this was significantly higher than I have seen before and seemed to apply to items which are generally kosher by default like oil and other regular household supplies. Furthermore, a lot of the items have no price tag - especially the freezer section which made me have no idea what I was going to pay until I got up front. I ended up leaving with a box of frozen knishes (7.99) and a refrigerated pair of knishes (4.99). The refrigerated section knishes were delicious, I heated them back up in the oven when I got home and really enjoyed it. Much better than the knish I had at Cecil's. But as a store, the prices are way too high for me to give a higher rating even though it is nice to see a kosher store.

My eggs were runny and I had to get her attention in order to ask her to please get me eggs over medium. I received the eggs and she didn't come to the table to follow up. I needed water and I had to call to another waitress and asked her if she could get me water. The young lady was polite however not following up with the customer is not a good thing. The ambiance is never the problem it is the service.
