We came to Jimmy Bear's in March 2019 with a large group of 9. We were pleasantly surprised at the speed at which we got seated. The staff takes your order and it is immediately sent to the kitchen right away! The food was fantastic and the owner was super gracious. We tried the gator appetizer and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The smoked pork lived up to its reputation. Highly recommend Jimmy Bear's if you are in the area. read more

outstanding dinner on a Thursday! we walked in to a music bingo night and loved the food and entertainment. The crowd was wonderful and everyone enjoyed the music and the audience who was engaged in the bingo game. The servers were so kind and helpful. The music was loud but they were patient with us making our selections. Clean, we'll lit and so very welcoming. Food was outstanding and every one enjoyed their dinner. Well smoked 'cue with a great char. Still tender. Rubbed not sauced, but choice of sauces were provided on the side, thank you very much! (I much prefer to sauce my own). Largest rib I have ever seen - delicious, I felt like Wilma Flintstone trying to eat it. Ended up making 2 meals out of it. Sides were equally delish. This restaurant has done the bare minimum for covid safety. Most staff were not wearing masks. Now they are sitting strangers together when they have entertainers at their restaurant. Despite this previously being one of my favorite BBQ joints. Their poor handling of covid safety makes me feel that I could never go back there. I can only imagine what other things they don't care about if they don't care about trying to keep their customers and employees safe. read more

This spot has a southern style ambiance with a very family oriented decor and some how a comedy club inside too. The main reason to visit this restaurant/comedy club is the barbecue, but they have an extensive variety of dishes that go from street tacos to smoked beef ribs to fried gator tail. We had the habanero poppers, brisket meal with collard greens and sweet potato fries and a chicken quesadilla. The habanero poppers had ton of flavor and tasted excellent. The brisket was good but we like our brisket a little more tender and juicy. The chicken quesadilla had very good flavor but were too greasy and lack cheese. This place is outstanding! They used to be located in a small house on Pennsylvania Avenue but have relocated to this new location. It's huge inside! You could have large parties in here. Just had some awesome BBQ at Jimmy Bear's BBQ. It was so delicious!! Came with my dad and we ordered the Mama Bear platter which gave you a taste of the menu and it was so good! I really enjoyed myself and I loved everything. The ribs were so good and the brisket so good. The staff are friendly and personable. The restaurant is so clean as well as the bathrooms. I will return here for sure. They also host comedy nights here you can order ticket online and get a dinner discount. I'll have to check it out. read more

Jimmy Bear's BBQ was an overall great experience! Our large group ordered various different entrees (I recommend the popper bear) and we all enjoyed them. Very juicy and delicious meats here. Big shoutout to Vinnie the owner of the place for being friendly and also hilarious! We really enjoyed the Pulp Fiction rendition. Our waitress, Dina, also did a great job with taking care of our large party. She was very friendly and made us feel like valued guests. We just visited the new location... The vibe is not the same. It's super weird on the inside. The food was not good... We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. I will say the mozzarella sticks were pretty good... But the marinara sauce came out in packets... It was odd and the Marinara was inedible. My in-laws sides were all cold. This is an amazing spot for BBQ! I've been looking for a great place to get some REAL BBQ, don't worry I've found it! My husband, his best friend and myself went in and even though the outside doesn't look like much, this place was amazing! Got the beef rib, it was as big as my forearm!
