What was brought to the table appeared to be sautéed onions with garlic. I politely explained that this wasn't what I was expecting and that I had anticipated a sauce with a thinner consistency. At that point, the server's tone became noticeably confrontational and he insisted that what had been served was the sauce I was describing. The interaction became uncomfortable, and the server continued to give us what felt like dirty looks for the remainder of our visit. The situation left us feeling unwelcome and ultimately made us want to leave. The chicharron had a great flavor but the "skin" wasn't that crispy and had a chewy texture. The flan wasn't that sweet and had more of a vanilla extract flavor. I didn't care for it. Overall, the food was disappointing. However, the ambiance was very lively and featured live music. The waitress wasn't the greatest. I asked for water, but she gave us a bottle of water instead - which I found out later was $4! It wasn't a fancy brand of water either. I would have appreciated a heads up that there was a cost for water, especially since tap water is usually provided for free at most restaurants. Double check your bill. An automatic 20% tip was added to the receipt (it wasn't disclosed to us), and we were not part of a group.
