We visited last week and arrived around 8pm. We were the only patrons in the restaurant and the service was excellent. Our drink orders were taken quickly and my sangria was really delicious. To start, we ordered fried cheese which was served with a very tasty guava sauce. The portion was a good size and we very much enjoyed it. My daughter ordered Steak & Onion with beans and rice for sides, and the portion was also a good size. I ordered Pork Pernil with Mofongo, and although flavorful, both the pork and the Mofongo were on the dry side compared to what I've had in other Dominican restaurants. The pernil was accompanied by two pieces of Chicharrón, which were crispy and delicious. They were an unexpected surprise and were my favorite part of the entree! This restaurant is very clean and attractively decorated. If we are in the area again, I might go back to try other items. The dessert list looked great, so next time I'll be sure to save some room for sweets! read more

The Chimiking franchises can vary depending on what you order. This location was great and they were fast with the orders and made sure to get our food out as soon as possible even though I was on a lunch break. Parking lot a little small , but not too crowded since we got there for 11am, which is their opening hours. I really enjoyed their chimi burger , it was so delicious , flavorful , and the fresh lemonade was the best pair. Fries still had This oily/greasy taste, but it was fried to the right crispy texture. It was quiet for the most part until lunch hour hit, but I would definitely recommend coming out here to try their amazing dishes and options! read more

Here's my honest review: great food, we come back solely because of their flavors. I must say tho, the wait time is a little too much. When ordering ahead for pick up, they'll say "25 minutes" but in reality it's more closer to 50-60 minutes. So just come prepared if you plan on dining in. On this last visit, it was a takeout and had it not been for my son asking for his coke, we would have left without it. I ordered 3 cokes to go and the waitress had completely forgotten to prep them. Very disappointed. The menu is laid out very confusing. This is the first restaurant the mofongo is not separated out. We expected to receive 4 plates of mofongo and ended up with 1. I ordered the shrimp mofongo and was asked if I wanted rice and beans which I was very confused about and asked if it came with rice and beans which she said yes. I said it was weird never been to a place that give sides with that. (Should have been an indication to repeat the order back to us). I also asked if the sauce for the shrimp was not cream which she said yes, cause I cannot eat cream. The rest of my group order another shrimp mofongo and a chicken, bacon cheese mofongo. We ended up with 2 orders of shrimp in a creme sauce, rice, beans and tostones. The other plate was fried chicken, cheese, bacon with rice and beans. The chicken on the menu did not indicate it was fried. If you look at the top of the menu it specifically says mashed fried plantains which is mofongo and we specifically asked where were the mofongo options because we saw it in the photos. One of the plates for the cream sauce situation she did ask to fix it however I am not big on sending food back it's uncomfortable for me and everyone else already had there food which we would have had to wait for a new plate to be made so I just asked for pernil something I knew would be a quick fix. The pernil was half dry and half juicy. The chicken was also dry. The shrimp was good and the 1 mofongo received. I enjoyed this restaurant very much. It offered all the foods my husband grew up eating, and all my favorite foods that I enjoy gorging on. This restaurant was impressive for me. I'm a stickler for a clean table, clean booth, clean silverware, clean glasses, and dishes. There silverware looked like it had just been polished, and there were no caked on food, or hard water spots on the silverware, or glasses. (My pet peeve, sorry). I love that they serve piping hot large portions, because I like taking food home. I loved their mofongo, tostones, arroz con camarones, yucca, and beans and rice. My go to place for good Dominican home cooking. Customer service is great each time. And I like they speak to me in Spanish because I go so much I understand what they are asking me. I've tried another Chimiking restaurant near where I live...no bueno. This is the best location. Food is cooked when you order but worth the small wait. On our way back from Poinciana, starving, we were excited to bump into ChimiKing. It had been on our radar for some time and we immediately stopped. Upon entering we noticed a sign, "wait to be seated", we waited maybe a half a minute when we were approached and directed to a table and offered drinks, I ordered Jugo de Tamarindo (tamarind juice), my daughter ordered Limonada (lemonade). We noticed about 4 other tables occupants and a buffet like set up but it had no food on it. Our server came back took our order, for appetizer we ordered, tostone sliders, basically a slice of fried salami/Dominican sausage, a slice of fried cheese, sandwiched between to crispy fried tostones. She then ordered mini chimis (Dominican burger with thinly sliced cabbage and special sauce with a side of fries. I ordered a Cuban sandwich. While we waited we watched as other tables got their food, just interested in what the dishes looked like. One table ordered a huge mofongo (fried and mashed green plantains), that looked so good crowned with pork. Another table had a humongous plate of tostones (fried plantains) with delicious longaniza (Dominican sausage), goodness!! Our food took a while, but I noticed that all the food did take long, true cook to order style. When we got our appetizer, delicious, the tostones were crispy and not falling apart over the salami and cheese. My daughters chimi was cute, good serving of fries and my Cuban sandwich good size. The mini chimis, the beef was off, we are Dominican and have had thousands of chimis and this was not it. The fries were good though. I could not finish my sandwich. I have a thing where pork should not smell like pork, it has a funny funk but if marinated well with lime and oregano it doesn't smell. Unfortunately the pork on this sandwich, smelled of pork, it also had alot of ham and not enough cheese, so no balance and I barely got the mustard taste. The bread was good. Only spoke Spanish but I think they understand most English. I'm a Spanish speaker but my friend isn't but he was able to order. His order was incorrect though. We eat at this restaurant about 3-4 times per month. The food is THE BEST!!! Having said that the service from the wait staff is absolutely HORRIBLE!! We spend a minimum of about $120 per visit. Last week we dropped $300 in 1 visit. The service is going to be a deal breaker very soon! When you spend that kind of money you expect the wait staff will know what they're doing & at least understand Spanish and English. Tonite we had to tell 2 different waitresses our orders 2 times!!! 7 people!!! Had to ask for our drinks after waiting for 15 min. We were the only people in the place!! Didn't offer refills on drinks, didn't check on us if the food was ok. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE!! Y'all need to figure it out only 1 more chance. On the 3rd strike, you're out! This place is so underrated. Every time I come in here the food is so delicious. This is where I fell in love with Mofongo. What I really like about this place is that it is reasonably priced as well. When we first moved here we went to cillantrillo (great place but too expensive, and the wait time is off the chain - worth it though), so this place is the sweet spot for some good food for the entire family. Food was really good just needed a pinch of salt on the Mofongo. I ordered the three meat combo and it was perfect. My wife ordered the Camaronfongo and loved it as well. This location is not as good as others, gave them benefit of a doubt and ordered a second time from them, not only did they send completely wrong sandwich but the other plate of the fried pork chunks was overcooked, dry and tough to chew. Service is bad. They refused to take my order. There were only two families / tables and i asked for take out but they refused and stated they were too busy in the kitchen to do take outs. I went on a different visit and i had to wait 20 mins before they took my order while there were two people just standing there . I could not tell you how the food was because we didn't get to eat there. They attended us quickly and order our drinks and appetizer. She asked us if we need more time to look over the menu we said yes. She approached the table with our drinks and left because the person I was with left to grab his wallet. We waited patiently for an additional 15 minutes before we walked out. We watched our server past us several times and helped other table and take out customers too . If it were possible to give less than one star, I would. HORRIBLE service, including the "manager" Glen. 45 minutes wait for 1 chimi, a kids meal and 1 yaroa. Glen promised my daughter a coloring pad, never brought it! People sitting after us ate before us! I asked for how long the food was (after 35 minutes) she said "it's up next" and then another 10 minutes and she never comes back to us, sends another server. I turned my food down once it came and she STILL charged me for it! I'll continue to each ChimiKing, but SPARE yourself and head to their food truck instead!
