We had an outstanding experience at this steakhouse. The steaks were cooked perfectly--tender, flavorful, and exactly to temperature. You can really tell the kitchen takes pride in the quality of the ingredients and preparation. Huge kudos to Chef Frankie for delivering such a phenomenal meal. Everything from the steak to the sides was well executed and beautifully presented. Our server, Aubrey, was fantastic and truly elevated the experience. She was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu without ever making us feel rushed. Her service made the evening feel relaxed and enjoyable. I was craving a good steak and came across this casual, laid back steakhouse. After reading several reviews praising their beer cheese and pretzels, I knew I had to find out for myself. I made a reservation, but when I arrived, only a few people were sitting at the bar, so I practically had the entire dining room to myself. Phyre is located on a quiet street just steps away from St. Cloud City Hall. The décor features black velvet booths, black chairs, and marble tables. It isn't fancy, but it has a cool, modern vibe. They even had a huge Christmas tree still on display, decorated in preparation for the Fourth of July, which definitely caught my attention. Allie was my host and server, and she was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout my visit. Every restaurant needs a Allie. She was amazing! If Phyre management reads this, she needs a raise. I mean absolutely wonderful service! I started with what they call the "Our Fashion" cocktail and their famous pretzels served with beer cheese . The cocktail was enjoyable, and I can see why the pretzels get so much attention. They were soft, warm, and fresh. I would have preferred a little less salt, but then again, it wouldn't really be a pretzel. The cheese sauce could have been hotter, but it was flavorful and paired well with the pretzels. For my entrée, I ordered the surf and turf featuring filet medallions, three crab-stuffed shrimp, and a side of garlic mashed potatoes. The food arrived surprisingly quickly, which I appreciated. The filet medallions were cooked to a perfect medium and had a nice slight crisp on the outside, although they weren't quite as hot as I would have liked. It was served towith a delicious wine sauce that really elevated the dish. The crab stuffed shrimp were flavorful, and the garlic mashed potatoes were a great complement to the meal. Overall, I enjoyed my Sunday dinner at Phyre. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the food delivered a satisfying steakhouse experience. Didn't know what to expect when we pulled up to Phyre Brewery and Tavern. It was one of rhe coldest Saturdays in Florida history. And when we entered it was all sunshine and good vibes. Hard to describe this place. It was decorated like an old time speakeasy. There was a pianist doing Billy Joel songs which was quite good. And the patrons here were top notch. Liked the tree they have up all year, the theme for February was Valentines. Frankie is the chef and she is making magic here. Had the short ribs and it came with rosemary and garlic mash and brussels. Can't believe how very delicious this was and it was 5 star quality and worth every penny of it's $36 price. One of the best meals I have had in months. The bananas foster cheese cake is to die for. Actually everything was great. The food, drinks and such friendly service. So in love with Phyre Brewery & Tavern. Crystal and Kristen were our bartenders. Kristen made a smoked old fashion which was awesome. It was a little on the sweet side, but definitely awesome. This is a very cute little place in old downtown St. Cloud. The rustic decor is adorable. The menu is very diverse with many options for all types of eaters. Our server was very attentive and never let our tea glasses stay empty very long. They had a daily special of venison; something you don't usually find on a menu. Only negatives I found was the meatloaf was a little dry but did have a good flavor. Also the booth seats are a bit narrow front to back. The wife and I have come twice now, once for brunch and once for their $10 burger Monday. Both times were exceptional. The food was delicious: for brunch I had a hazelnut crusted chicken with a frangelico cherry sauce that was super tasty if you like sweet and savory and (at least for me) very unique in flavor! Our return visit I and the other three diners got burgers of different varieties. They were all delicious as were the fries and all for a great price on Monday. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure we had what we needed and stopping to say hi to our 4 month old daughter who was having a great time listening to the music. They had a great porter on tap which is not always common during the summer in Florida and the rest of the drink selection looked good as well. This place is fantastic! We sat outside as the weather was perfect. We were greeted pretty promptly by Kim. She was very prompt to get us something to drink. She was also patient with me as I took longer than the others to decide what to drink & eat. She nicely said she would return to give me time while I decided, which was perfect! She returned pretty quickly with my family's drinks. I ordered the espresso martini which was made very well. I ordered the Hazelnut Heist. Oh my goodness!!!! That was simply wonderful! The egg over the chicken that was tender and juicy. The chicken had the hazelnut crunchy texture on the outside of the chicken. PERFECT! Topped with a Frangelico, sundried cherry sauce and served over a buttermilk biscuit what a whole other level of perfection. The pairing of that sauce and the chicken encrust with hazelnut is an unexpected taste that simply must be experienced! Definitely would eat that any time! The menu looked wonderful with all the options and ways the dishes were made. The inside is beautiful and very spacious. Whoever is in the back cooking kudos to you because I was the best ribs, burger, and fries we've ever had. The ribs were 20 bucks half rack and came with a side of fries that are actual potatoes. I know I'm saying that but yes, their actual potatoes. Lol and the ribs are smoked. We had a great IPA that was grapefruit, they have tomahawk Tuesdays. My husband ordered the Deep Sea Shrimp and grits. Said it was the best meal out he's had in a long time. Little wasabi on the bottom topped with ahi, slaw, seaweed and drizzle of creamy sauce. Yummo! Battered fish tacos had slaw on the bottom and lightly battered mahi cooked perfect but would have preferred blackened if it was a choice and drizzled with a creamy dressing. Very juicy tacos. The fries were amazing, the waffle pretty good, smoked candied bacon yummy, but the chicken... although cooked well and moist; it had absolutely no flavor not even a hint. The staff tends to be very slow, especially at the bar. At most restaurants, sitting at the bar usually means you're taken care of right away, but here that hasn't been my experience. More than once I've had to look around just to find the bartender. The last two times I came in, I waited between 15-20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me, and this was around 2 p.m. on a weekday when the restaurant was nearly empty. The decor cute and the attire of the staff resembles that of pinup girls (I think). Everything on the menu sounded delicious so I really couldn't make up my mind. We had a table of 8 and our server Charles he was able to answer any questions about the menu and made drink suggestions, etc he did everything he could to make sure we had a great experience. The fish tacos were very filling. Crispy fish, freshly made pico and spicy cabbage wrapped in a flour tortilla simple but yet delicious. Everybody's food came out on time hot and fresh!! Not a Brewery anymore. When we came in after reading on untapped about a smoked porter someone reviewed in March . The brunch menu looked fantastic. We sat at the bar. When my husband asked about the smoked porter he said they didn't have that but told us that they had another porter. After some digging we found out they aren't actually a brewery anymore. The bar tender wasn't helpful. I asked what else they had on draft. He rattled off some varietals but not what breweries they were from. He casually mentioned the last tap which was a sour with a peanut butter after taste. Definitely up our alley but if we hadn't pried doubtful we would have even known it was there. He could afford to read the customers and what they are asking about. We were excited about brunch which he talked us out of everything we were considering. We ended up ordering a marshmallow fluff sweet Thai chili burger which sounded perfect for us. He tried to talk us out of it. It was great with the exception of being well well done. It was an out of the way drive for us wouldn't recommend. Won't be back. read more
