Really enjoy the food friendly staff and removed inside of restaurant. Love the murals! Catfish and sides always taste the same great quality control. Lunch special is a really good deal save 5$ at least verses after lunch specials. Seniors have a nice deal on their meals all day. Plenty parking on this large resurfaced parking lot.

First time having this food fare!

The Catfish Place was recommended by a local airboat guide whose Aunt works in the kitchen. We wanted to find a place where the locals eat that served gator, and we found it! We got the gator and frog legs with a side of fresh corn on the cob and two imported beers. Man, did it hit the spot! We learned on our air boat ride there are enough gators in Florida for all the residents and tourists to have one, so we figured this was our opportunity to try it as a food. The service here was friendly and fast. We enjoyed the fried gator and the corn on the cob, served with plenty of butter, was the perfect compliment. Also their cocktail and tartar sauce were delicious! The menu says, "where the locals come to eat" and tht seemed to ring true. There was a birthday being hosted there, plenty of couples and families, and barely an empty table. I highly recommend coming. You'll feel like family and be glad you did!

I ordered the fried shrimp with the vegetable of the day, which was zucchini and tomatoes. I did the add-on of fried okra. The food was good. There was plenty of seating. They also have a bar area. Our server was excellent.

Fried Catfish Platter Review The Fried Catfish Platter from The Catfish Restaurant, paired with cheese grits, hush puppies, fried green tomatoes, and fried dill pickles, is a Southern feast that hits all the right notes. The catfish is the star of the show--fried to perfection with a crispy, golden crust and tender, flaky fish inside. The cornmeal breading is well-seasoned, adding a satisfying crunch without being overly greasy. The cheese grits are creamy and rich, with just the right amount of sharpness from the cheese, making them a perfect sidekick to the catfish. The hush puppies are a delight--slightly sweet, with a moist interior and a crunchy exterior, a comforting classic done right. The fried green tomatoes are a revelation: tangy, crisp, and flavorful, with a light coating that allows the tomatoes to shine. Meanwhile, the fried dill pickles offer a briny, tangy burst of flavor, balanced by their crispy coating. The house-made ranch ties it all together. It's thick, herby, and fresh, ideal for dipping everything from the pickles to the hush puppies. This platter is an indulgent celebration of Southern comfort food. Each bite brings a perfect blend of texture and flavor, leaving you full but tempted to order more. The service was also exceptional our waitress was attentive and on point every time

This place never fails, all the food is so delicious! The service is amazing. I love the little gift shop, first time I bought something. But how could I walk away without this t-shirt. The seating is good and spacious the tables are perfectly spread so it is comfortable. If you have never been it is a must try. I drove an hour just because I was craving the flounder. :)

Finally got back to THE CATFISH PLACE OF ST. CLOUD to see the new digs. Looks incredible in there. A couple delicious drinks ahead of another perfectly cooked meal, all priced very reasonably when comparing to similar restaurants. Whether you are new school STC or old school STC... I would hope you can appreciate what the new owners are doing to bring a great restaurant with more options that we desperately need here. The ambience of this place makes you have a relaxed dinner that you will certainly enjoy! Katie was just awesome to chat with and can't wait to get back again... we didn't finish til after closing and never once felt rushed. Another perfect experience at TCP!! If you haven't been, rip the band-aid off and get you some. -- at THE CATFISH PLACE OF ST. CLOUD.

All you can eat catfish fingerlings

I saw the reviews on Yelp and was in town so I thought I would give the restaurant a try. I got to the restaurant 10 minutes before closing and thought I would do a carry out order due to it being close to closing. The host (I believe named Mackenzie) was the first worker I saw. She was polite and patient in helping me to decide what I should order even though it was close to closing. As I was deciding, a couple came in and she helped them to a table to be served. I asked when she returned, "don't you guys close in like 10 minutes?" She said yes but if I wanted to dine in and take advantage of the "all you can eat special" it would not be a problem. I was pleasantly surprised because I haven't experienced this type of customer service in a long time. Where I am from, you don't go to a restaurant in the last 15 minutes of their business hours or there might be irritated workers you may have to deal with. I took her up on her offer and she escorted me to my table. Based on her suggestions, I ordered the "all you can eat catfish fingerlings" immediately so I didn't irritate the cook. About 15 minutes later a server brought me out so much fish that I did not know if I could finish 1/2 of it. It was like 7 little whole fish ( I believe her name was Katelyn)! She smiled and said take your time and eat your food. The service at this restaurant was A+ for me especially for it being the last 15 minutes in the shift and I still got treated like a guest and not an interruption. The cook deserves an A+ as well for the way the catfish was prepared. If I didn't know any better, I would think it was my grandma back there cooking. The catfish was hot and fresh with the bone in, tail on, deep fried and the corn meal thoroughly dusted on the fish. The catfish was seasoned well and not greasy at all. The photo shows the first serving in the "all you can eat" catfish fingerlings that I ordered. If you plan on visiting, make sure you are hungry. This place should be #1 on Yelp for their catfish! You get my vote folks. Thank you for your hospitality and for a remarkable meal.

THE BEST CHEESE GRITS BY FAR!!!! It has been years since I stepped to this place. It has been remodeled nicely. No more bear head sitting on top of you while eating LOL The remodeled area has more seating and has more country modern feel. I am unsure if new management or owners stepped in but it def has a new feel to it. Same southern hospitality friendly personalities and the server I had was kind. So the menu here is MOSTLY fried. a small section is broiled and boiled seafood options. They serve I hear good alligator bites here and they also serve turtle. The gumbo and cheesy grits along with the key lime pie stood out for me. The sweet tea here is served in a pitcher once you request a refill. Saves you from calling a server for drink refills. Let's talk about the food. Usually I order a platter of fried shrimp etc. Today new year means kinda healthy kick.... LOL The GUMBO - It was a soup chowder like filled with rice sausage shrimp okra tomato based broth chunky soup and it was filling. A little bit spicy but my first time eating gumbo so it was nothing for me to compare it to. I will order it again. Wished the bowl was bigger! It was delicious. Cheesy Grits - THE BEST GRITS BY FAR! I have had my share of grits and this one here is the best! Creamy and rich and cheesy. I could eat a whole small pot of this! I left this place after dining in thinking about these grits! DEF order this and add a fried fish or shrimps to it! Key lime pie - This is not house made per server but its a popular dessert from them. It was served with whip cream. The pie is sweet and tangy but for me it had more sweet notes. I could not finish it all and took the rest home. Its a smooth pie and tasty. I would def come back here again especially for the cheese grits!

Fabulous seafood place! I came in town from Denver and was thrilled I could find fresh seafood and excellent hushpuppies.

Not worth the drive from Tampa. The fired pork chops, chicken and shrimp were ok but nothing to rave about. Definitely not worth the drive.

I've been in a drought of finding another 5 star to rate, been at some mediocre places recently! This broke my drought clean off! When you walk in you'll be greeted by a family of very nice girls. They walked me through the menu, their best sellers and since I came in late in the day they informed me they had sold out of some of their bakery items! I ordered the Terrocotta Sandwich and an empanada and wow!! Both were amazing and were priced very affordably. I was working there so I decided to order another empanada this time chicken and a smoothie. Wow!! The smoothie was so yummy and colorful while not being too sweet and the chicken was just as good as the steak. From the service to the cute decor.. this place is a MUST STOP if you're in the area!!
