Perfectly solid BBQ. Friendly folks. Lots (and lots) of inside and outside seating. Avoid the green beans, but the cole slaw is a safe bet.

BBQ joints are always a hit or miss but Jimmy Bear's was a HOME RUN!! Brisket was so tender and lean w great smoke. Gator Tail was a great starter and the sides all on point. Just and overall great lunch. And the server (did not get her name) was absolutely delightful and knowledgeable. Next time up here from Miami will definitely be a must stop!! read more

Made the bread so wet, I had to pull it off the bread to eat it and forego the sandwich. Flavor pretty good but not as good as Rockin' John's in Kissimmee . Bun served cold. Jimmy Bear's is good BBQ. The free "check in" rib set the bar very high for the brisket I ordered. Sadly, I wish I had order a whole order of those ribs! Man, juicy, tender and meaty. Not to mention absolutely delicious naked. The Brisket sandwich was good brisket too. Great BBQ smokeiness. Brisket just paled sizing up to the rib I tried. The collards were missing the ham or something else flavoring. The vinegar sauce unfortunately didn't help either. Same with the black eyed peas. Missing that special "something. This is one of those spots that you should see Guy Fieri feature on DDD because they are on fire! Their smoker is put to work to give you the best smoked meats you've ever tried! The St. Louis rib is the perfect ratio of smoked and juicy with an explosion of flavor! I'm a sauce drowner but this rib can stand on its own! When you check in on yelp they give you a free one so try it out! You won't be sorry. Their sides are all you could ask for in a BBQ spot. The tater tot casserole is cheesy as it is starchy and the perfect mouthfeel to complement your meat! The fresh cut fries will leave a lasting impression. The smoked Mac n cheese is a crowd favorite and tastes perfect with the sweet bbq sauce and pulled pork. I'm so glad they moved locations because now they have the space to accommodate the mouths it deserves to. How I ended up so lucky with a gem like this in my backyard, I don't know. And also how could I forget the service ? What a team you have here! The ladies were so welcoming and warm and we felt right at home! Bbq and soul food is not supposed to be bland. The meat should speak for itself without condiments. If people are looking for healthy food they don't order this so add some spice and seasoning to it. We ordered: Collards - they tasted like someone just boiled them and did bother to put vinegar, neck bone, salt, pepper, sugar or whatever in them. Mac and cheese: there was no seasoning. Adding cheese to noodles doesn't say this is soul food. Beans - a bit over cooked. Okra - nicely breaded and fried but again no seasoning. Ribs - nicely cooked but no seasoning. Had to douse it with bbq sauce just to add flavor. Gator Bites - chewy and weird. I've had better. Potato Salad - average but a strange flavor Coleslaw - pretty good. Overall pretty disappointing experience. My kids were pretty disappointed too. read more

This is real barbecue with some inventive menu items. My favorite is the Jack and Dill sandwich which is smoked corned beef, bacon, cheese, fried dill pickles all on marbled rye with two sides! I have to agree with another reviewer about bland unseasoned food. We were excited to try this spot as transplants from out of state and all of the good reviews. However it fell terribly short of our expectations. Our server was phenomenal, absolutely pleasant and efficient as can be. We got a brisket sandwich, burnt ends, wings, and a few sides. The Mac and cheese had a strong taste of liquid smoke, and it was pretty overwhelming. The greens were boiled, unseasoned and just not good. No porky flavor, no bite from the vinegar, not even a speck of salt. The hush puppies were okay. The fries were limp. The meat was terribly dry and unseasoned. I hate to say it, but it was practically inedible. We didn't complain because our server was so incredible and we didn't want her to feel bad or have to rush around for us. The wings were the shining star of the meal. They were hot, perfectly crispy and the bbq bourbon sauce was to die for. I could eat an entire tray of those babies. This place needs to be a wing place and play to their strengths for sure. We'll be back for wings, but unfortunately not much else. read more

We were in the area visiting, and brought a large group to Jimmy Bear's for dinner. Tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, we walked in and weren't sure what to expect - it was a week night, and it was fairly empty. Folding tables were set up in what looked to be the comedy club advertised outside. But great service, huge portions and tasty food satisfied the whole group. Everyone left happy. The Sizzly Grizzly BBQ sauce was the favorite and someone in our group bought a bottle to take home. read more

So so so good. We got the giant plate of everything - brisket, ribs, chicken, pork, onion rings, tater tot casserole, corn bread, plus fried pickles. I would get the same thing again, it was all great. And it was the one that feeds 1-2, we easily had 5-6 meals out of it. Also, the fried pickles were AMAZING. The new location is not great. The restaurant is now a comedy club that serves BBQ. The meat has little to no smoke flavor, which leads to the belief they left the smoker at the original location. The servers were inattentive, more focused on they're phones than wanting to tend to things like orders or refills. The menu is so varied you can't concentrate on a simple bbq plate of food. Breakfast! A local comedy club that has a big breakfast menu. Service, food, music, all so good. Tables covered with a fresh sheet of thick brown paper from a big roll so they are cleaner than if wiped off. I cant wait to go back on an evening when they have the comedy show and try the dinner menu. read more

This BBQ spot is located in a strip mall near a Goodwill and a Dollar Tree. They are an evening comedy club as well. There is a stage and several TV screens inside the dining area. We had lunch and the food was great! We actually decided to stop because of the high number of Yelp strong reviews. My husband and I ordered The Bear-Baby Bear which feeds 1-2 people. We chose pulled chicken, pulled pork and sliced beef brisket. Honestly, the brisket was some of the best that I have tasted!! Our sides were: 1. onion rings: they were a beer batter. We liked them, okay. 2. Baked beans: ehhh 3. Baked corn casserole: So bready it was like eating cornbread. Get this and skip cornbread. 4. Jalapeño Corn bread-nope...no go for me. Love Jimmy Bear's! Brought a friend here a couple nights ago because he wanted ribs. He was surprised at how extensive the menu was. I warned him he'd have trouble picking his sides. I got my usual turkey sandwich with potato salad and beans as my sides. I have to say though, I thought the beans were different than they usually are. They looked like they were straight out of a can! I don't know, why, but they just weren't the usual. Everything else was delicious as always. I love that they added a screen around the outdoor dining area and they have an amazing bar. Their comedy shows are top notch as well! Give them a visit for dinner and a show! Ah man, this is some good stuff! I came in famished on the search for some juicy ribs to soothe my appetite and walked out with food coma. The concept is great! I loved the bottles used as bowls for the appetizers. I would've never thought fried pickles would be my thing but they were tasty and perfectly crunchy. I ended up sharing the Black & Blue Wagyu sandwich with my boyfriend as we devoured the ribs beforehand. The BBQ punch was the perfectly refreshing drink that packed a punch. We nibbles on some cheese curds as we relished on how much this town has grown. I can appreciate a fine chunk of slowly cooked meat basted with high end barbecue sauce and that's exactly what we got here. Kudos! You guys are the kings of the cue! The dining room has several large tables for big groups and families. When we were there for lunch on a Thursday it was not very crowded. We wanted to try several items so we ordered the baby bear which serves two. It came with ribs, brisket and pork. You could have the brisket and pork sliced or shredded. We chose sliced. For our sides we got the corn casserole and smoked mac and cheese. The brisket was moist and fantastic. The sides were also very good. The ribs were somewhat tough and the sliced pork was dry. My family and I stopped here on a whim the other day on our way to the airport to go home. We weren't expecting a whole lot as we pretty much stopped at the first place nearby. The food was absolutely amazing. We had the bacon strips with bourbon maple glaze which was outstanding. Oh wait....about 40 miles away from my house. :) The layout is odd until you realize that on the weekends it's also used as a comedy club......but I digress....let's get to the food! I had the burnt ends, fried okra, corn casserole and corn bread. Are you full yet? My husband had the country fried steak breakfast and since there are no pictures of the food I'd have to say we loved it all! And the cheese curds......yup....ate them all up too. What really impressed me was the owner came to every table and not just greeted us, asked how we liked the food, can he suggest a sauce, could he get us anything else? Where ya from?
