Sidney was our server and she was great! All servers were very attentive! The staff is great and very welcoming. We had a 10 minute wait on a Sunday morning at 9AM. Not bad at all. I had the breakfast pita and a side pancake which was huge and delicious! Unfortunately, I missed the 11am grit cut off time so I didn't get a chance to try them. Came here with my wife for breakfast after an early morning doctor's appointment. We were told we could choose the table by the door or there were booths in the back. We chose the booths and were promptly served by the nicest server. We placed our order and the food was excellent. The sausage links on my breakfast weren't of the frozen supermarket variety. They had good snap and great flavor. The hashbrowns and eggs were cooked to perfection. I also had the french toast, which came with my order. Perfectly cooked and fluffy. My wife had a bacon & sausage omelet, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Portions were large (we had to box some to eat later) and prices were reasonable. I live in Miami but grew up in Brooklyn New York eating at diners. The food was so homey and delicious felt like eating grandmas food. The restaurant felt like eating with family. Finally stopped into the cup to see what all the talk was about. Turns out all the negative talk was just a bunch of haters! Surprisingly the cup is a lot bigger inside then what it looks like on the outside. Upon walking in the staff knew the company I was with and let us sit wherever. The waiter was incredibly friendly and a nice guy. I assumed it was cause he's familiar with people at the table however I think he's just like this to everybody. The Took notes about a seafood allergy and explained how they prep when somebody has an allergy. The food came up pretty quick. I'm not sure how anybody could plain about this food. It's diner like food and you can get breakfast at any time, Which is pretty Baller have eggs and bacon for dinner. I ordered a country fried steak and let me tell you this: Cracker Barrel Was my benchmark for a good country fried steak. The cup smacked around Cracker Barrel with a raw country fried stegg before they put in the deep friar for me. I understand it can get busy at times but definitely give this place to try. The French fries weren't the best, so next time I'd order with potato chips. My husband's pancake breakfast did not disappoint either. I don't normally like breakfast sausage, but this one was juicy and quality. The pancakes tasted like box vanilla cake! Maybe others wouldn't like that, but we loved it! My only real complaints are: the table was not cleaned when we were sat, the not so good fries, & the coffee was horrible-- watered down and no flavor. Tasty, traditional American dining in a cozy setting. The Cup was a local diner we tried on our latest adventure to Florida, and it didn't disappoint! Our party tried several of the omelets and a stack of pancakes; everything came out hot and fresh. My only critiques are that it's pretty cramped inside (our party of three were a little cramped in our booth) and all of the food needed a good shake of salt. It's not often that the hubby and I give a 5-star rating on food and service, but The Cup Diner in St.Cloud is very deserving of this honor. Talk about a hustling bustling place. We arrived and expected an extensive wait, but 15 minutes and we were seated and our happy waitress was immediately at our table taking our drink order. Our order consisted of The Big Frank breakfast special, which did not disappoint, with its skin on potatoes fried with onion and the fluffy biscuits and gravy stealing the show. The French toast was very yummy as well, and admirably priced at $8 for 3 generous pieces. Our waitress was friendly and fun, and although this Valentines day was a crazy busy day for the Old Diner, she made a point to come back several times To check on us. Great food! Great service! Apparently it changed ownership suddenly. All new people, they were ok. But the food was sloppy. Scramble eggs were scrambled all over my plate. Bacon was a mess. First time here: mixed opinions. The service was very good! Our breakfast was served quickly. Had biscuits and gravy: the biscuit was moist and pretty good, and there was lots of gravy, but it was very bland. Pancakes were good! My biggest complaint was the restroom, which was quite messy: there appears to only be one restroom, so it's used by employees and customers, male and female. You have to touch EVERYTHING in the restroom: the door, the door handle, the lock on the inside, the LID to the seat (WHO puts a lid on a toilet in a public restroom?), the toilet paper dispenser that was about to fall off the wall, the handle to flush, the sink faucet handles, the soap dispenser, the paper towel dispenser handle, the door lock, handle and door again to get out. There is no "Occupied/Vacant" indicator on the outside of the door, so people on the outside tried to open the door several times while I was in the restroom, some more aggressively than others, hitting the door hard as if they thought the door was stuck! An indicator sign and some "touch-less" features would be appreciated. read more

I am sad to say I just had my first bad experience with the Cup diner. I'm use to excellent service @ the Cup, but today we were given a waitress that greeted us with a dirty look because we asked for a high chair for our 1 yr old granddaughter. Then she tells us that we're not allowed to have it in the aisle instead of moving us to a different area. She was rude and unhelpful and we got the impression we were not welcome. What an awesome diner! I give it a 10 stars for being an amazingly patriotic, down home old fashioned diner! I felt at home here, and I wish I had a place like this in my home town. I'd be there every weekend. All of the staff we encountered was super friendly and attentive. I especially appreciated one server that wore a black apron with a blue line and the words, "Back the Blue!" Thank you for standing up, unapologetically and proud, supporting the first responders! Atmosphere was very inviting; plenty of room between seating areas and very clean. We will definitely come back next time in Florida! read more
