We had our dinner here last night. I had the fried red snapper & my hubby had the ropa vieja (shredded beef). They did not disappoint. I still had some fish left to go. It was tasty and satisfying. The service was very personable. The cook even went to check on us to make, everything is in to our liking. The servers were sweet and attended to us really well. I went for my lunch break and picked white rice, black beans and pernil. They have a pretty big selection, so it was hard to decide on something. Everything had a nice flavor. The pork was moist and delicious. I definitely recommend this for lunch, it's replaced my Chipotle obsession since they keep dropping the ball. read more

A small Latin restaurant with friendly "mom and pop" customer service and very good food. I won't say the food is epic but it is very good considering the simplicity of the restaurant. When you walk in, it looks like a small little cafe and everyone is very friendly. They give you quick service and are super polite. I ordered the steak with onions and it wasn't the longest wait in the world. I do like that they close at nine pm since it gives me some flexibility to go there later in the evening. The food was really good. I won't say it is perfect since the tostones came out good but a tad undercooked. Nothing to bad but I suppose I am just nitpicking. Cute little Latin restaurant in Saint Cloud. Their $5.50 lunch special is a great deal. I have had mixed experiences with the hot-bar style Latin meals in Orlando but the stewed chicken at Mi Casa was thoroughly enjoyable. They served up a huge portion of rice (your choice of white, yellow, or rice with beans), stewed chicken with chopped potato and carrot, beans (black or red), and plantains. Note* If you get the mixed rice and beans then you don't get a side of beans. The flavor of the stewed chicken was great and the meat and vegetables were tender. The beans were more juice than beans but the juice was thick and had a lot of flavor. The red beans were slightly sweet. Both were good but I think I preferred the blacked beans. They had a lovely display case hosting pastries. The steak on the hot-bar was tender but not as flavorful as the stewed chicken. Overall, for the lunch price of $5.50 this restaurant is a great find. They have a smaller selection than a lot of Latin restaurants that offer hot-bar selections, so I think their quality control is higher. read more

7/8/20 Update: Last month my husband ordered a Mofongo and it was NOT good! Not sure if they changed cooks or owners but it was not the same at all! Barely any flavor! I decided to give it another try today and ordered the ham, egg and cheese sandwich and it was horrible! The bread was nasty and the eggs were overcooked. It's a shame because they use to have an awesome breakfast sandwich. Total waste of money! We will not be going here again. Please bring your original cook back! read more

After church Sunday, I wanted to take my mom for a light brunch. She is not the food adventurous type but I took my chance here and at first sight she was already talking about bringing my stepdad some time. They had a nice ready made line with various rice and dishes. We decided to order some small bites on the menu like beef empanadas, yuca fries and another dish that I cannot remember because I wanted to try something new and just pointed to something I had never heard of. Lol. I asked for salsa picante or hot sauce and was given the last of a small cup of a delicious jalapeño concoction. She said this was the last of it for the day so I only dished a little on my plate. I wish I just kept it because it really took the beef empanadas on another level. I felt bad when another family later requested hot sauce and were told there was none left for the day. Hot sauce makes everything complete. I would recommend they have a couple of bottles of some store bought picante and leave that pretty little green concoction for me. The lady that serviced up was so sweet and very attentive. She did not mind my broken Spanish attempts. I am glad I took my mother here and look forward to coming back. read more
