Theres not too many options at the Memphis Airport , so I opted for Nellys. But if you can, eat before you come or get something from the market next door. I ordered a regular hot dog, and a side of fries. The regular hot dog tasted like it was cooked, recooked, and recooked again. It had a leathery texture and was not moist at all. The bread was super dry and flakey. When I picked up my hot dog and bun the bun instantly broke in half and crumbled at the end. The fries were okay, if you like undercooked soggy fries. They are a medium thickness. I like a good mixture of soft and some crunchy fries and I did not receive that.

1/2 slab of ribs + small wings

Food options at MEM are simply atrocious, and sadly, I travel through there all the time. Since I like to have a glass of wine with my meal, there's literally only one option in Terminal C (Home Team Sports; 1-star Yelp venue). On my way home Friday, I. Simply. Could. Not. Go. There. Again! Since some of the locals I talked to in Arkansas suggested it, I thought I'd try Neely's at the airport. I should say strike three, but it's probably more like, strike twelve, Memphis International Airport. Wait staff are in no rush to do anything and seem indifferent about your presence. I wanted to try the wings and ribs, but there was no combo that would allow. So I ordered a small wings and 1/2 slab of ribs plate. Wings were decent although they had a salt heavy dry rub on 'em. The ribs were...not good. Fall off the bone, yes, but not in a good way. So overcooked the meat felt like a mealy apple in my mouth. While I feel like I ordered too much food (see picture), my bill only came to $24. I was full, although my palette was definitely not satisfied. Thankfully there is a new grab-in-go bar at the end of the terminal where I could wash away the flavor with some wine.

I want to go to the main location, but every time I am in Memphis at the airport this is a must. I always get the combination platter with Ribs and chopped pork. Service is spot on and if I didn't see planes I'd think I wasn't in an airport. This is not your typical airport food!! Mouth watering tangy bbq sauce! You can actually get frozen stuff to fly back with. (Next time) I may have ate so much that I had to loosen up the belt for the flight home.

Excellent Brisket! And not a rip off!

Flawless Brisket and excellent BBQ Sauce - I don't smother it like most people do, I add the sauce as I eat it. The meat was lean and the price was excellent! I love the Cashier too! She is very nice - I see her whenever I come through the airport. I am not a big fan of red meat, but when I eat it, it has to be very good and lean! THIS IS BOTH!

Dried out dehydrated ribs on the bone. The bone is easier to eat.

DO NOT EAT HERE! EVER! If your hungry and it's the only thing open, drink some water and go hungry. It's that bad! I ordered the ribs and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. They only had three tables so we had to get it to go and ate it in the terminal. The ribs (see attached pic) were so overcooked there was no moisture in them at all. Like eating leather. When things are this overcooked there is not taste left. My wife's sandwich was better except that there was pieces of bone mixed into the meat. I know you throw the dice with food in an airport , but this may be the worst airport food ever in the history of aviation.

This was the worst experience I have ever encountered at an establishment!! Stephanie M needs retraining on how to treat customer that are buying from this establishment! She was rude to everyone in line. Her barking at your customers is just down right rude and insulting. The minute we walked in she had an attitude with all customer. She didn't have her mask on right was on her chin and would scream at you if you dare asked for anything. If this wasn't the only place open on this concourse I wouldn't come back again. I fly often and this was down right awful customer service ! If I see her working I will not be coming in!

Half slab dinner with slaw and potato salad

I knew BBQ in an airport that looked like a ghost town was going to be risky. But I was hungry and decided to give it a try. The chairs on the inside has been moved to the side but there was seating outside the store. It looked kind of dirty to be honest with you. I don't think anyone had been to clean the area for a long while. As for the food, honestly I didn't care for the ribs. I ordered a half rack and they were all dry and tough. The tangy bbq sauce, which I didnt care for flavor wise and that the ribs were covered with, didn't help. The flies really liked the ribs though. Like how did these flies get this far into the airport? One even managed to climb all the way into the little bag where I was putting the bones. Amazing. The slaw had a weird aftertaste. I can't really describe it. After a few more bites I think I got use to it and didn't mind it as much. The 2 pieces of white bread they give, seemed fresh. And the potato salad was ok. Nothing to write home about. But ok. In terminal C there aren't many food options. The other place that was open looked equally dismal.

Pulled pork, potato salad and cole slaw. My favorite was the coleslaw--it was a bit spicy. Yummmmm.

A Memphis Favorite…read more While visiting Memphis, Central was located next to my rental property, so I came few times. I had to see what all the buzz was about I had heard about, and Central BBQ did not disappoint. The smell of smoke hits you before you walk in and the food lives up to the reputation. I went for the ribs , pulled pork sampler, and quickly understood why this place is so popular. Tender, smoky, and packed with flavor, some of the best BBQ I've had. I have seen few other reviews with low rating, but all I can says It was great for me. A late review but I had to write one because BBQ, Memphis, and service is on my mind right this minute. If you're in Memphis, Central BBQ is a must-stop try spot.

It tasted like it was missing seasoning and didn't have much flavor on its own. The sauce was really needed to give the meat some flavor. I wanted to give the restaurant another chance, so I went back later that day to try the ribs. I ordered them half dry and half wet. Unfortunately, the ribs were dry and did not fall off the bone. Just like the pulled pork, they really depended on the sauce for flavor. The baked beans were okay at best, while the turnip greens were actually pretty good, although they were a little too salty for my taste. Overall, I was disappointed with the food. I wanted to like this place, but neither the pulled pork nor the ribs impressed me. For $36, I expected much more, and based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend it.

I sat at the bar, and my bartender did not miss a beat. Even though I was dining alone, she continued to check on me and made sure I was taken care of throughout the evening. I got to enjoy two different bands, and both were amazing! However, the final performance was definitely my favorite. Her voice was both soothing and powerful, and when she started singing Tina Turner, all I could do was smile. What an incredible performance! Now, let's talk about the ribs! They were delicious, full of flavor and literally falling off the bone. The baked beans were good, although they didn't blow me away. The green beans, however, were a miss for me. The bartender was very inattentive and acted like she had a giant chip on her shoulder. I ordered the ribs and a local draft lager. The food and drinks were very good. I was hoping for a Memphis dry rub, but they were doused in bbq sauce. The ribs weren't as good as what you can probably find at other places in Memphis, but they had good flavor. The baked beans were very sweet and watery. The coleslaw was great. The live band was amazing. That night it was the BB King All-Stars. They played a wide variety of musical genres spanning several decades. One song was so good, I was brought to tears. Overall, I had a decent time. The live band saved the night for me. I went on a slow Tuesday night in September, so there really wasn't much open on Beale St to choose from.

The condiment box at our table looks like it had not been cleaned out in months. Some old time movie decorations definitely caught my eye and those were pretty cool. No music playing, and the touch tunes was down. Just one lonely tv playing cable tv above the bar. Bar had maybe a selection of 3 beers and 4 cocktail/Seltzer cans. I didn't see an ounce of liquor. The men of our party when using the bathroom said the toilet was infested with buzzing flies. The ladies room had an off smell, and we had to fight the nearly empty bottle to get soap to wash our hands. Family of five shared the family feast. The slab of ribs were super tender and fall off the bone but had absolutely no flavor at all besides the baked on bbq slapped on the top. The pulled pork was kind of cold and also had no seasoning or marinade. The chicken wings had some seasoning on top but no flavor inside besides some old fry grease flavoring. We were given a warm bottle of barbecue sauce but the bottle was so nasty and concerning no one at our table was brave enough to use it. Platter had Your average sliced white bread on side. The collard greens were praised by the whole table and was knocked out by everyone first. Service was good, but I would surely hope with being the only patrons inside for a whole hour besides a to go order. Restaurant desperately needs some TLC and some deep cleaning. Seasoning or a marinade needed on the meats as well. I would have to give it a hard pass next time.
