Have not been in a while so the have redone this place now. No longer a sit down and take an order from a waitress/ waiter. You walk in and order from a kiosk with a cashier, once food is ordered and paid, you get your own drinks and pick a seat to sit. Your given a number for your order and the bring your food to you. At least they still give you corn muffins free gratis when eating within the place. But trust me the also have them listed on the menu to charge as well. The nachos with pulled pork was ok. Pork was a little tough and chewy. Flavor was ok. Not a lot of smoke flavor for my tastes. Cheese was more like a cheese sauce but a fair amount. I tried the Carolina Mustard type sauce. Which I have always known as Carolina Gold. Nice tangy but sweet flavor. Just need a little bit to go a long way. For the prices this place now is, sad to see them go away from the sit down and be waited on type format. Be a hard long time before I go back to a quick and easy food place like this. Stopped in for dinner and light crowd. Cashier was nice and plenty of seats. Food came out quickly. Drinks took a bit - we had a beer and peach mixed cocktail. When they came out they brought out a regular peach tea and said they would bring the cocktail and prompt about getting us our drink. Very nice guy. Side salad was great and cheese biscuits always great. Brisket, Jalapeno Sausage and pulled pork was well made, flavorful and good sized portion. Baked beans were good and coleslaw is a bit spicy. Loved that they have a fruit side for the kiddos but our little guy wasn't a fan of the cheese in the grilled cheese. Otherwise he was a fan of the place not the cheese. We had one weird interaction. When the biscuits came out we asked for an extra small plate (so we can put our little guys biscuit on his own plate). Normal request for a restaurant, however we got a speech about how they don't do that. They only give 1 small plate for our group size. ‍ She was a bit off putting and said she would get us one, which we didn't get from her. We thought we'd give this a try even though the reviews looked mid. I have to say it was really good. The corn biscuits and sweet creamy butter were finger lickin' good! My turkey was moist and well seasoned without needing sauce. I had a side of collards and coleslaw which were yummy. We had a delightful lunch at this location. It's literally been years since we have been here. We used to go all the time and i think my wife just got tired of it. Anyway, we needed a quick lunch and it was nearby so we stopped in. They have completely changed things since our last visit. They used to have wait staff taking orders at the table. Now you order at a counter on entry and then find a seat. This was actually a whole lot quicker. By the time we got our drinks from the self service bar, our food was on the table. This review is for food we ordered through delivery on UberEats. We ordered the Mr Jim combo plate, which includes 3 meats (pork, chicken, or tucket, two sides, and biscuits. You can pay about $3 extra if you want brisket and spare ribs. For my meats, we got their ribs, chicken, and pulled pork. The ribs were my favorite. They were cooked perfectly and came with two types of sauce (a spicy and sweet one). The pulled work was okay. The chicken was really moist and delicious. We ordered some onion rings on the side which I probably could have done without. They were good but I just had so much food. I would recommend them if you are craving onion rings. The cheddar biscuits and mac and cheese we got that came with my meal were also good. The mac and cheese were yummy and the biscuits were moist. It was a nice alternative to corn bread. We also got a coconut pie and banana pudding for dessert. Both were great but we really liked the coconut pie. I know a lot of people enjoy their banana pudding but we prefer the coconut pie. All of our food was about $70 which we thought was fair for the amount of meat and food we got. The next time we are Franklin and want some BBQ we would consider ordering from them again. read more

I've tried a few bbq spots in the area and this is the only one I like so far. I don't eat pork often, so when I do, it needs to be good. The babybacks are the way to go here. I brought my mom and she had some feedback abt the combo options not including babybacks and the manager was super accommodating and surprised us with some at the end. Loved that. I just had the worst brisket of my life from this location. Usually Jim and Nick's is my go to but I can't overlook today's huge misstep in quality. The cuts were atrocious, the flavor was missing, and the meat was pale. It's not a "let's fix it for you" thing or I would have taken it back. If this slipped through the gaps your business is in serious trouble and you need to know about it on yelp. Even after years of patronage I'm not confident about going back. I hate to leave a review like this. But growing up going to the original jim n nicks in Birmingham Alabama, my experience here has just been so sad in comparison. Even the location in Tuscaloosa Alabama was on point when I lived there for 8 years. Given this location in cool springs 3 solid trys. And every time is something. From the orders being incorrect, cold, sloppily thrown together. To even the staff just not being in the pickup area for 5 solid minutes while my food sits on the counter(bartenders and waitresses chatting and not addressing me) to the fries being soggy and unseasoned. Jim N Nick's was a pleasant surprise because, based on reviews, I was nervous. To get this out of the way, it's not a traditional full service restaurant. When you arrive, you order at the counter and receive a buzzer number that you place on your table so they can bring your food to you. It wasn't too busy when we went, so we were in and out. We ordered the beef brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese, pulled pork sandwich with fries, coke, and peach tea. The peach tea is made to order, and it was so freaking delicious-included real peaches in it. The food was tasty. I loved their brisket, super tender and bursting with flavor. The Mac and cheese was also a good choice. Yes, on the smaller side, but it's definitely delicious. Their fries are seasoned well, too. The sandwiches come with their cheddar biscuits. They are tiny, and I wish I had more. The setup is pretty big inside and decorated with bbq related things. I'm definitely glad I stopped in. read more

This place used to be ok, but post COVID it's not so good. You now order behind a counter, and it always feels like there's just 1 or 2 employees in the whole restaurant. The food quality has gone downhill as well. The loaded potato can be pretty large, but it's also been super small. (Sometimes 2 potatoes and sometimes a potato that's 1/2 the size of a regular potato. neither is a great option.) The little cheesy breads now sometimes feel stale and cold. In a pinch maybe I'd come here again, but most likely not. read more

I just can't get over the complete lack of service. The food is good. Perhaps not quite as good as it was before, but still very good barbecue worthy of a 4-star review most of the time. At least a strong 3-star review. But the service is terrible. Their new format involves placing orders at the counter instead of the table service they had offered previously. I suppose that's a good thing because in our experience over the past couple of years the table service was inattentive and slow. We had been in the habit of ordering to-go here, but even that has been a disappointment. The online ordering system defaults to telling you that your order will be ready in 40 minutes. Almost without exception the food is packaged up and waiting for you within about 15 minutes. So you can count on the food cooling off for a good 20+ minutes if you arrive when the online order tells you that your food will be ready. The staff seems to be focused on ignoring guests. There is no longer a host near the front door since they don't have table service. Every time I've gone in recently there aren't any staff near the front door. When you finally find someone they almost always seem like they hate their job and wish you weren't there. I still like their food, and they're open on Sunday evenings when a fair number of other restaurants are closed. But it has gotten to the point that every time we eat here I wonder why we still show up. The food is good, but not good enough to make up for the terrible service. read more

The Jim n Nicks Franklin Tennessee location is the absolute worst location of all the states/locations we've been too. We arrived a little before 7 pm, only to be told they're out of Bbq Chicken, Bbq turkey and brisket. You could only order pork sandwiches which we did. Requested the Bbq slaw be added. When we got the sandwiches they were soggy and the so called slaw was nothing more than rough chopped cabbage thrown in the sandwiches. They will never get my business at this location.
