Everything is good, I've had almost everything on the menu in the past three years. It's not much to look at, but you know from the minute you walk in the door you're in a real barbecue joint, the smell is intoxicating. The pulled pork is moist and tender, but my favorite thing on the menu might be the reuben, and the club sandwich is excellent too. They have ribs, but only on Saturday, also very good. read more

Super delicious pulled bbq. If you are unfamiliar with Fairview, the restaurant is located inside a gas station so plan to take the meal to go. Bbq can be per serving or get enough for the whole family along with bread and sides. The side dishes always look fresh and tasty. There is a meat and three type set up and the meatloaf and other daily features look good, but I am always there for the bbq. The man that runs the place reminds me of the Soup Nazi from Seinfield; impatient and unfriendly, so that is the reason I can't give five stars. I would stop in more often, but he was so unfriendly last time it has deterred me. read more

Yeah, no. I have to agree with James from Smyrna... I was initially so glad to have found this place, but not for long. I'm NOT a huge barbecue fan, probably because I didn't grow up around "good" barbecue. Because I was so impressed with the food the first time I came- to the point I began to actually claim to "like" barbecue- I ultimately ate here six times. Five of those times, I brought people along who had never HEARD of the place (and NEVER would have), in an effort to bring them more business (I even paid for all of my guest's meals in addition to my own, each and every time). Of the six times I came, only ONCE was I treated respectfully, and that was the ONE time a nice blonde lady served me. The "owner" has ALWAYS responded to every question I ever had by treating me like I have a severe head injury, talking down to me, being smart-assed, etc. On more than half of my visits, my guests have asked me "Is that guy always such an ass?". If you're wondering why I would go back, I'll tell you- the guy is good at what he does. Clearly, he's spent a LIFETIME mastering the art of being JUST ENOUGH of a d*** to be off-putting, but he's careful to dial it back to that point JUST before he gets his skull split open. On my second-to-last visit, the proprietor actually half-assedly apologized because even he knew his mouth had gone too far. I told him it was no biggie- I've dealt with worse (I have), and shrugged it off, figuring his belated apology meant things would finally get better. Nope. The VERY next time I came (again with a new patron in tow), he was rude and insulting AGAIN, and he took no care to not do so in front of my guest. The guy's short, so it's almost like he's compensating for something, maybe. I truly wanted to drag his Napoleonic ass over his counter, but for the SEVERAL city police officers eating there that day, I somehow refrained. THAT'S how tired of his crap I was, and that was the LAST time I will ever eat there (took me long enough, I know, but I'm REALLY easy-going and forgiving). I don't care WHAT your food tastes like- when you insult a customer (a repeat customer, at that) and their suppressed anger causes their bile to mix with your food, it ultimately makes your food taste as bad as your attitude. This place obviously and intentionally caters to LOCALS, and if you AREN'T a LOCAL, and don't know their weird-ass way of doing things (such as to order at the counter with the food, but pay at the gas station's counter, etc.), they'll know INSTANTLY "you ain't from around heah" and treat you like dirt. Luckily, Carl's Perfect Pig isn't very far and in addition to great food, they treat people with basic respect. read more

best barbecue in fairview but they also have a new food truck which is also great. the truck has really fresh french fries as well as hot burgers. i am not associated with any of these people but anthony who works both at the store and at the truck is always helpful and friendly. and the ruben sandwich is as good as you will find south of philadelphia. lots of meat and great flavor. read more
