Excited about having a new option for BBQ in Spring Hill, my husband and I came here for lunch mid-week around noon. They open at 10:30 but we had to wait at the front for someone who worked there to appear; they need to add a bell to the door so they know when people come in! Food: 4.5 / 5 I ordered a sloppy Joe + two sides: green beans and potato salad. My husband ordered a pulled pork plate with Mac and cheese and baked beans. Everything came out fast, hot and tasted good. Potato salad was a little bland for me but other people might love it, everyone's recipe is different. I hope this place stays around and lots of people try it! I will come back and review other favorites (brisket, banana pudding, baked potatoes, chicken...) We got 2 pulled pork sandwiches with mayo slaw. The bun was dried out, the meat was tasteless and only saved by the sauce ( but only by a small margin) and the mayo slaw could only be called mayo because of the color. Eat somewhere else. Really really enjoyed our meal here. I am really picky about my BBQ and really enjoyed the food here. The pulled pork was moist and had a good flavor. The turkey was pulled which I really liked. This is absolutely the worst bbq I have ever experienced. Ordered Brisket plate. Very tough and gristly. Baked beans over cooked. Potato salad had a harsh brined taste. We used Denims to cater a birthday party and they were absolutely great to work with and the food was great. We got the pulled pork, baked beans, green beans and the cheesy potatoes. This is the first time I had tried Denims and they did not disappoint. Everything was on point and the cost was reasonable and worth the money. Food was fresh and hot and tasty. The dining area was very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Hidden behind the Wendy's and close to the UPS Store is a pretty darn good BBQ spot. Denim's did not disappoint in portion size, price, and flavor. Always a sucker for fried catfish and fried pickles, I was super happy with the amount of seasoning this place drops in the breading. The pickles still had some snap and the catfish wasn't overcooked. If somebody tells you their potatoes are HUGE, believe them. My wife got their loaded potato and it was big enough for at least two meals. I stole some of the pork and it was full of that smoky flavor I can't seem to uncover at other BBQ joints. We got the food for takeout, so I can't speak into the place, but I'll be definitely heading back. read more

This is the rebranded JJ's BBQ which I remember from the Main Street gas station days. Haven't been in there in a while, but quickly remembered why. Brisket is sliced either too thin or too thick. Nice smoke flavor, without the smoke ring. The thin piece are like like gyro meat and the thick pieces are chewy and rubber like. The sides are homemade and not from a jar which seems to be the standard these days. Service is quick and friendly. Awfull!! $60 wasted ... for a pork spud, brisket plate, and kids chicken tenders. This would be over priced even if the food had been ok. I honestly hate leaving such a negative review during these times but honestly this was so bad and absolutely no effort made on preparing these items. All of the other reviews I have left on Yelp have been positive but this review needed to be left for improvement and to warn others. My husband ordered the brisket plate which comes with two sides. He chose baked beans and slaw. He spit the slaw out! And the brisket was so chewy and he could tell just warmed up frozen meat with liquid smoke added. Pretty sad!! Honestly my spud wasn't uneatable but wasn't the best. The kids chicken tenders were clearly frozen but were eatable. Stopped in by chance when I visited a nearby store and glad I did! Mmm! Got the Tuesday special, brisket sandwich, to go. Had a nice chat with Michael while waiting. Took the sandwich and ate it in the car. Very tender beef that was smoked just right with a perfect bit of slaw and mayo. The BBQ sauce on the side was great too. What happened to my barbecue place? What happened to great service, good prices and quality food? I wish I knew because I would fix the issues quickly. My entire family, including distant family in Ohio were disappointed to hear JJ's closed and equally excited when it reopened. Unfortunately, this place bears the same name but the food and prices have changed. A meal for two could cost around $16-18 dollars with any fixings you desired. Now, don't expect to leave for less than $25. Talk about an up charge for moving locations. The food has changed slightly as well. The coleslaw is basically mayo with a little cabbage. I was largely underwhelmed by this place. The mac and cheese was too bland, the "cheesy potatoes" we okay, the pulled pork was...tepid and needed more seasoning, and the sweet tea wasn't sweet. Service was charming yes but in the end when I hear BBQ in the South I have expectations... I would have been more impressed had it been overloaded with homemade sauce or something but everything honestly just tasted...under seasoned. Normally I disregard reviews of places with only a few reviews since I assume they post about extremely good or bad experiences...but alas this one is spot on.
