Sadly, it's time to give up on Sunny China as my local favorite take out Chinese, and start exploring other options. The hot and sour soup, a staple of all of my orders, has completely lost its pleasant bit of heat, is entirely bland and flavorless, and even worse, it's gotten so thick and gelatinous that it's unpleasant to slurp. The sesame chicken is still ok, though the meat runs tougher and chewier than past orders. I will give them credit for continuing to pack the to go box as tightly as possible, so you're really getting a lot of chicken. Only a piece or two of broccoli, so, if you're looking for a chicken and veg combo, I'd recommend adding a side of steamed broccoli. Came here during my lunch break and the food came out very hot and fast (which I loved). The sesame chicken and fried rice combination was great! Sesame chicken wasn't too bathed in the sauce and it had just the right amount of crunch. The fried rice, in my opinion, could use more seasoning but other than that, the combination hit the spot. My only gripe was with the Hot & Sour Soup. It was lacking in flavor and it was oddly sweet. It was missing the vinegar flavor that I'm so used to. Can't complain though since the entire meal was less than $10. Service was also very nice as well. read more

Very good carry-out restaurant. The second I walked into the place, I saw four guys in the kitchen wokking it up, clearly knowing how to cook, and I knew I was in the right place. Nice lady upfront as well. I came here a month ago and got the House Special soup and if you're sick and need a quick recovery, then order the soup and you'll be better in 24 hours. I came back last week and ordered my go-to dishes: barbeque spare ribs on the bone, General Tso's chicken, and chicken and broccoli in white sauce. Each dish was excellent. I have been disappointed by a lot of restaurants in Spring Hill/Franklin but this place is good. While I was waiting for my order, there was a constant stream of customers coming in to pick up their orders. So obviously, a lot of people come here and keep coming back. Holy Moly. This place is the real deal. We got our meal with tip for $50 and it gave my family of 4 over two meals! They were so busy as it was Christmas and everyone seemed to have the idea. Hands down the best Chinese food in the area. Regardless of what I've ordered it comes out fresh and hot. It's clear by the quality of the food that the kitchen staff really cares about their product. The dumplings and curry chicken are my current favorites. The best Chinese food I have ever had. The orange chicken was amazing it was citrusy garlicy a touch of spice and it's the best orange chicken I have ever had. Beef and Broccoli was awesome and the broccoli wasn't over cooked and just really good The hunan beef was so good the owner recommended it and it was great. Service was great. The food lacked flavor. We ordered lots of food to go: 2 orders of chicken egg fu yung, chicken with garlic sauce, tofu with broccoli & garlic sauce, sweet & sour chicken, and the volcano plate (a variety of appetizers to sample). We had to add lots of salt and soy sauce. I added other flavoring as well. Food didn't have great flavor on its own. My kids wouldn't even eat their dishes. Great little Chinese place in the Spring Hill area. Food is always fresh and service is always great. Mongolian beef is flavorful and has a good texture-crispy outside soft inside. There is an abundance of green onion, could be better with less. Cream cheese wontons are delicious, perfect ratio of crisp and center. Order extra, you won't be disappointed. Chow mein is usually our least favorite part. The noodles are very big and the sauce has very little flavor. Great place to check out. read more

We ordered take out. The food was ready on time but things went down from there. We ordered pot stickers, cashew chicken, shrimp egg foo young, Mongolian Beef and orange chicken. The pot stickers were cold. Cashew chicken had no flavor. The shrimp egg foo young had very little shrimp and there was a paste that apparently was supposed be added. Very flat. We ordered a few lunch specials to share. Roast pork low mein was definitely my fav, orange chicken was pretty good, the Kung pao chicken however wasn't what I was expecting, we asked for no peppers or peanuts, it wasn't horrible just not my idea of Kung pao. Very good Chinese food! I ate here for the first time the other day, and this will probably be my go to place for my Chinese food fix. The fried and steamed dumplings were delicious. The best in the area that I've had. The filling was plentiful and flavorful, and the wrapper was thin with a nice texture. I love both, but the fried dumplings are better IMO. The dipping sauce was a perfect compliment, but it's served cold. I prefer when dipping sauces are warmed. The egg roll was crispy and on par with most typical egg rolls. The General Tso Chicken was a huge portion with great flavor. Not much heat to the sauce. The lo mein was very good as well. Great bounce to the noodles, and the flavor didn't require any addition of sauces or seasonings. read more

We've been hoping to find a good, inexpensive chinese restaurant for a while that serves the classic dishes like sesame chicken, lo-mein, and egg drop soup. I was really happy with our experience at Sunny China. We ordered four special combinations, so we got rice and soup with our meals (Chicken and broccoli, sesame chicken, general tso's, and chicken and shrimp with vegetables). I grew up going to a lot of Chinese restaurants, it makes you pretty picky. My daughters and I didn't have high expectations of Sunny China but we were pleasantly surprised. We love the Crab Ragoons here. The egg drop soup is okay not the best I have ever had. We try to explore the menu and so far can't complain. The lunch deal is by far the best deal, so much food that you can make 2 meals out of it. Has quickly become our family Friday night tradition. read more
