Great food with very high quality ingredients! We started with the beet salad, the scallops, mussels everything were good! Then we had the duck breast and rainbow trout for main, adding a side of truffle fries, we were so full and didn't get dessert, definitely want to try that next time! The restaurant worths more spotlight, the owners are very friendly and sweet! Highly recommend.

Jillian's Restaurant *editing as I find typos and auto-corrects WOW. This is a vv long one, but I want to be thorough. Please read it if you can. It's worth it. TLDR: Jillian's is amazing, service was lovely, call them bc they prob can get you in last minute, follow them on IG for most recent/daily menus. Had the pleasure of dining at Jillian's for my birthday dinner this past weekend. What a wonderful experience. I had anticipated getting the Cioppino. Sadly, they were out. Instead I wound up sharing with my partner the wagyu steak and duck fat potatoes. Again...WOW. I made the mistake of not taking a photo of the steak when it arrived at the table, but let me tell you it was a beautiful sight. I really don't order steak when I go out to eat, but I also don't order chicken, and definitely not lamb, and my partner isn't a seafood person. So, I had steak. It was huge (I think she explained that it would be 16 to 18 ounces for the wagyu we ordered). It was delicious. It was light, though plenty of beautiful marbling. It didn't make me feel weighed down, which is unusual for me with red meat. What a pleasure. Leftovers are pictured, but the photos are a pathetic representation of something that was beautful fresh from the kitchen (I am so, so sorry for this). We also had moules frites. Amazing. Those fries were salty and addictive and I wish there had been a full pound to share and dip (I didn't want to share, TBH, but it was the right and fair thing to do bc what kind of person denies their partner French fries?!). The (also really bad) photo remaining is of the beet salad with goat cheese. Again, apologies for the terrible photo. There were red and golden beets, which were beautiful. I love beets, and I love golden beets so much. Goat cheese and balsamic to dredge. Lovely. Delicious. I also did not take a picture of the pistachio cheesecake (came out with a birthday candle) that honestly had me doing a little jig in my seat because my joy could not be contained. To my surprise, Jillian wrapped up and sent home with me another piece of pistachio cheesecake for me to enjoy privacy of my own home. (THANK YOU! ) Of note: They will let you sample the wines so that you can select something that you really want. There was no Cabernet on the menu. I sampled a couple of lines that I did not like, and then Jillian showed up at the table with a bottle of Cabernet that she found, and that made me so happy. Also, it's pretty dimly lit. There are cute string lights hanging from the ceiling, but my (40 something) aging eyes took a bit to adjust. I'm fine. You'll be fine. Just wanted to prepare you. **EDIT..... parking lot to the left of the adjoining building is for Jillian's, which formerly houses Stella's (my dad shared with me that it was formally Stella's, but I didn't know that at the time we were at the restaurant and a group member here let me know about the lot). There are also some (limited) parking spaces across the street. What surprised me the most is that the restaurant was not completely full. There were open tables the entire night. How that's possible, I don't know. The food is amazing, the service was lovely. If you're worried that you won't be able to get in, don't assume. CALL THEM. This space deserves to be fully booked every single night. Jillian said that they always tell people to call if they are looking for a last-minute table. She said they find it hard to predict business, and I think that this group can change that. Big time. it took me about 30 minutes to get there from Mt. Lebanon, whick felt like no time at all. It takes me longer to get many places in the city, 30min is nothing and 28 is no longer my worst nightmare (I grew up out that way, I know 28 sounds scary but it's really not anymore) (Pro tip: dont rely on the menu on the website, it isn't updated to match the daily menu changes which is why I always, always check IG)

White bean dip

This place is fabulous! It was our first time there and by the way we were welcomed we felt as if we were regulars. Jillian sat and chat with us with such ease and familiarity. The food..... oh the food!! Beef stew, tomahawk pork chop, white bean dip, truffled gratin. TO DIE FOR!!! Definitely a place to go and experience, we will absolutely be back.

Jillian's is a cute little spot located in my home town of new Ken. Owned by an amazing couple. The food is just as good as anywhere downtown! Once you step foot into their spot you would have no idea where you are. She makes some of the best martinis and all of their produce and meat are locally sourced. They're a great place to keep in mind for your next night out! Thanks for always giving us great service & food! See yinz soon! :)

It almost feels like you discovered something you weren't supposed to find. The menu is just as random as the location -- sandwiches, tacos, salads, and small plates. It sounds chaotic... but somehow it works. But at botL, the cacio e pepe is king. Yes, that cacio e pepe. The infamous Roman dish with so few ingredients that it has no right delivering this much flavor. It's simple food that exposes bad technique instantly... and botL absolutely nails it. They don't mess around either, even incorporating the hollowed-out cheese wheel. Sure, it might look a little showy... but when it tastes this good, who cares? I added the blackened shrimp and it was cooked to perfection. Perfect seasoning, perfect texture, perfect addition. Sometimes the best meals come from the most unexpected places... and botL fits that bill perfectly.

Maizy, Lydia, attention to our service, Simone (chef) and Tom greeted us with smiles and welcomes! I never choose for anyone but said I'm ordering our entrees! Cacio de pepe with filet tips atop. Wedge salad, wedding soup, and stemmed glass martinis and cabernet with dinner! Oh, brûlée cheesecake with a birthday candle was perfect ending! We arrived later than planned and happily closed the place down. We never felt rushed to go!!! That's an exceptional quality! I love it here and so did they! Resers best especially during prime time and days, but the bar is fun too! Some side parking and neighborhood street parking! You can thank me later!

One of the customers said, "We're closed." When we tried to confirm, they said they weren't sure if they were open or not. Ok......? They were laughing at us. Most respectable establishments welcome new patrons with "Hello". Not this place. We tried to confirm again that they were open. The bartender rudely says, "I wouldn't be serving you if we weren't." We were laughed at when we asked if there were any specials. The bartender served us and then went back to her huddle where they were so obviously talking about us. The 4 of them SCREAMED at one of us for accidentally setting his beer can on the pool table and then again a few minutes later when he was leaning on the pool table. They were mimicking and mocking us for saying we were going to leave. We were called white trash as we exited. Mind you the BARTENDER was also taking part in this extremely unwelcoming experience. Apparently the others were also off-duty bartenders at Wenzels. Blown away by the audacity of this place. I have never been treated so disrespectfully. We really enjoy the bars in Springdale but this one is permanently off our list. We will never go back. No one deserves to be treated so rudely, especially when we are paying customers. I will be sure to tell anyone who listens about our awful experience at Wenzel's Tavern.

Spoke with a lady manager, she was polite and helpful previously. Decided after tonight's bad food that I wasn't coming back. So called just to let them know. This time it was a guy manager. Who proceeded to talk over me the whole time, was rude and condescending. And when he asked me a question would interrupt before I could finish my comment. I've been in this industry for about over 40 years now and am so tired of assholes like this guy. He is what makes food service shit. And why restaurants go out of business. His ego needs checked. Now not only won't we be back, I will actively tell people not to eat at Somma. I'm a catering chef. I speak to A LOT OF PEOPLE about food. Being a dick to customers is a bad business plan. Edit: Just spoke with my buddy who picked up the pizzas. Said they were giving him weird looks when he came in and I think I know why. When I was ordering I had to explain it to the girl 6 or 7 times before she got it. She was getting frustrated. I asked for a pizza with olive oil and garlic, with chicken and hot peppers, house cheese mix. That's all. She kept asking if I wanted a white with no ranch. I said no, and explained, again, what we wanted. We have ordered this more than once. Finally after like 6 times she repeated it back, I corrected that we wanted hot peppers, not just peppers. She said OK. We still got green peppers by the way. SMH.... The pizza was the final straw for me, and why I was calling. But after this whole drama, my guess is you have internal issues WAY beyond inconsistent food.
