The likely hood of you being over charged hundreds if not thousands of dollars by this car shop is almost certain. They take advantage of people who are not aware of what work on the car needs to be done, how long it would take to get the job done and how complex is the job. Dana at the front desk told me verbally it would take a minimum of 2 hours of $250 per hour to install my catalytic converter shield (which I provided new from MillerCAT) on my 2012 Toyota Prius. The $500 total job quote was seriously a lot of money for me. But I thought if it takes a person 2 hours of hard work to install the shield then it's worth it, so I agreed to it verbally. The actual job was done in less than an hour. But they still charged me nearly $600 including tax for two hours of work. When I asked about why I'm being charged for two hours of work for this job done under 1 hour, Dana said he has to charge me for two hours of work even though it took less than one hour because I agreed to it. I felt that I have been lied to and robbed. When I tried to express my frustration and indignation at this situation Dana tried to gas light me saying that he explained it clearly and it was me who misunderstood the cost and the amount of work it took. If he had told me the cost is nearly $600 including tax for a 45-30 min job I would have never agreed to it. Dana then told me the higher hourly fee and charging me for 2 hours is because I brought my own newly purchased part to install. Which makes no sense and was not explained to me ahead of time. Also my initial job estimate and the work required was never presented to me in print to sign until the job on the car was done. The choice for me to refuse a printed estimate in writing was also never presented to me initially. This kind of behavior from a car shop is illegal. Washington law says it is unlawful for an auto repair facility to materially understate or misstate the estimated price for a specified repair procedure. Under Washington law, for a repair over $100 with face-to-face contact, the shop is generally supposed to provide a written estimate or offer you the statutory alternatives, including the option to decline a written estimate. RCW 46.71.025 specifically says the customer's signature or initials indicate which option was selected. Google and ChatGPT further confirms that the job of installing catalytic converter shield for my 2012 Prius with my own provided a new shield from MillerCAT is a simple and straightforward job taking only around 30 mins (see images) costing around $150 to $200. This business borderlines as a scam, preying on vulnerable population. If I had recorded how Dana initially quoted the job as taking minimal 2 hours at $250 an hour for a total of $500 before tax and fees, I would have gone to the police. Do yourself a favor avoid this place at all costs. Try instead 1. JDM House MotorSports at 17205 Pacific Hwy in Lynnwood. 2. Greg's Japanese Auto. I asked Zacks to drain, fill the oil, replace the oil and engine filters. I had already purchased an oil filter, engine filter and Luca oil additive. They quoted me a price of 150.00+tax. I thought it seemed a little high for an oil change but didn't know the going rate. I explained I wanted to donate the car and asked them to recommend any repairs that would be necessary. Upon receiving the car, they told me that the engine filter was not the correct type, so they could not install it. Fair enough but I assumed it would be taken off the bill since it wasn't installed. The harness wires needed to be cleaned, and 2 relays had to be replaced. It would be an additional 600 to 700 hundred dollars. I decided to donate the car anyway and let the Vets know what needed to be done. The car ran fine and cleaning the harness and replacing the relays would be up to them. Upon returning home, I realized I had left the new engine filter there. Before retrieving it, I called other auto shops and asked how much it would cost to drain and replace the oil and oil filter. (I had the oil filter) I was surprised to learn on the high end; it would cost around 85.00. I told them I had paid 150+tax (168.75) and was told for that price, the shop must have flushed the engine too. When I returned to Zacks to retrieve the engine filter, I asked if they had flushed the engine. The first person I asked said yes but his English was difficult to understand and he seemed unsure, so when the owner came with my engine filter, I asked again if the engine had been flushed and he said no. That I didn't ask for a flush, just to drain and refill. I agreed but said I called around and was told to drain and fill the oil would cost around 85.00. With a flush around 150.00. If they hadn't flushed it and didn't install an engine filter as agreed upon, I felt 150.00 was too much. That's when he went off the rails and literally started yelling. He said he didn't use cheap products and used Penzoil. He said if I wanted a flush, Liquid Molly cost 75.00 a bottle and I needed two bottles. I said I had bought engine additive and had compared it to Liquid Molly and Liquid Molly was only 21.00. Even with their mark up, how could they charge 75.00 a bottle? I argued since there was no flush and no installation of the engine filter, there should be a reduction in price. All he had done was drain, fill the oil and screw in the oil filter (I had brought) for 168.75. He said no. I said I felt taken advantaged of and told him I would be writing a review and it would not be a good one. He then called me a F--king B-tch and said I was a racist! He said because he was from a different country I thought I could get a cheap deal! I said that was absurd and I'd rather be a F--king B-tch than a f--king cheat. He said he was calling the police because I was a racist and leaned on my open car door to prevent me from leaving. I told him to get off the car, that he was welcome to call the police and I would let them know he had attempted to detain me. He relented and I drove off. Needless to say, I will not be returning. What an experience! He was purposely misleading and dishonest. The biggest, blatant, most aggregious thing was this: a mechanic came in after inspecting another customer's car (the customer was not there). I heard him tell the manager that the car was good, he could not find any problems at all beyond what the vehicle was brought in for. The manger said this: "OK, I'll do something, then." When I dropped the car off I asked to talk to Chris like I always do when dropping off my cars and verifying the quoted price. I was told by the tech Chris had went on vacation for the week. So I asked the tech if they could also install a unitronic stage 1 tune while the car was there in which he stated he could do. I receive a call at 4pm that my car was ready for pick up but they weren't able to install the tune because my car supposely had a tcm from a manual transmission even though it is clearly an automatic. I was also told that price went from $400 to $640 because they had to use a newer gasket and fluid from a different distributor. To top that off this guy said he had to charge me for attempting to install a tune and to put the car back to it normal setting. Needless to say I was blown away by the markup in this transaction but I paid and took the car. On the drive back to Seattle I noticed smoke bailing out the back of the car but at this point I was closer to my house than there shop. Got the car home, pulled it in garage and there was transmission fluid running out the transmission like there wasn't a gasket installed. Of course the shop was closed since they called for me to pick the call up right before they closed. I called the next day and to my surprise Chris was all of sudden back from his suppose it week long vacation. I told him what happened and told me to have the car towed back the shop and they would take care of the tow and repair to my car. Had the car towed back to the shop to be repaired. I received call from Chris saying that the gasket was faulty and the car was ready for pickup. I asked why they weren't able to tune my car and what his tech told me. He told me that it was strange that the tech could tune the car and it shouldn't have made a different if the tcm was from a manual. He also said he would contact the tuning company and get back with me which I never heard back from him after several attempts to contact him after our conversation. So heading back home with my car and it drove worse than when I took it to this place. I ended up taking it the stealership and found out it was the wrong tranny fluid and there was a software update that was needed to fix a ongoing issue with these particular Audi transmissions. They put the correct fluids and installed the software update. My car runs likes new now and these guys never even mention a new type fluid or software update was needed even though they claim to be knowledgeable about Audi's. At the end of the day don't waste your time nor money dealing with this little dirty over priced shop. Chris use to be a man of integrity and this shop use to do hella good work back in the early 2000's but those day's are gone, it's all about the money now.

On a beautiful Saturday the Lynnwood locations car wash was unfortunately closed. Against our better judgement we went to the dreaded Alderwood location to clean our son's car. The car wash started and immediately the middle of the windshield cracked and then spidered into the entire windshield. We reported the incident immediately and took several photos. There was no manager on duty on a Saturday? We then contacted him first thing Monday morning. He insisted we drive the car back where he told us the crack was in the inside...hmm. I guess not only is he a weekday manager but also a glass expert. We have tried several times to get anyone (else) to return our calls to no avail and there is apparently no other manager to talk to at anytime onsite. Our insurance has told us they will not cover it as it is considered third party damage. Not to mention at time of purchase on the inspection of the vehicle no windshield damage was found. So my (Autistic) 16 year old is left with a car that is illegal to drive. Thanks Levine family, we will never use your company again. My mileage was confirmed by two different employees. I was also told my oil filter was "very hard to get to," and I overheard the same explanation being given to the customer in the neighboring bay. When I was directed out of the bay, no one clearly indicated that I was free to leave, and there was no closing interaction or acknowledgment. Throughout the service, four to five employees were standing around while only one person was actually working underneath my car. Ultimately, I feel my time was wasted--and my time is far more valuable than the cost of the oil change itself. ADDITION: Also, they never turned off the service notification light in my car.
