Unless you do it yourself, leaving your car to someone to fix it can feel like leaving your kid at the daycare and hoping they survive. Well, this place made me feel at ease for leaving my car here and it's due to the great customer service and transparency Kevin(Store manager, I assume) provided. I usually go to Grease Monkey in Edmonds, WA, and the reason is related to the cost. However, my father has told me he has been going to this location and my father usually knows what he is talking about, so I thought to give it a shot. I walked and was greeted by Kevin and asked if I had an appointment, which I made on the website, but he told me there has been some glitch in the online appointment process and he is not seeing it. He is still welcome to take it even though they seemed swamped on Saturday of a week before Xmas, however, it will take some time to get it done. I had an oil change and transmission flush in mind to get it done and provided coupons as well. True, it was a bit more expensive ($50-$100) than getting it done at Grease Monkey, but seeing the way the mechanics worked and seeing Kevin getting everything done to make sure to meet the standards made me feel at ease to pay extra than get it somewhere cheaper. While I wait, they reached out to me and told me that they recommended getting my Battery cleaned as well. If it was any normal case, I would've denied it, but I knew I needed to because I recently changed my headlight bulb and saw it needs to be cleaned, so I went and approved it. Overall, I feel like my car got the service it needed and I will be coming here from now on. Tip: I advise you to give them a call to make sure your appointment is shown on their system if you made an online appointment, and look for coupons. read more

This has been my go-to place for two years now. Went in and there was only two people working. One tire cost me $159! Plus I waited almost three hours for it as well. The old manager and crew worked so well with me and was very accommodating (I have a breathalyzer installed). Who ever was in the garage made me feel like it was a huge inconvenience to even bring my car in. I'll be finding someplace new, unfortunately. read more

Big thanks to manager Mike there at Midas for always being available and open to lots of questions and brainstorming. In addition, they were the heroes when the Lynnwood food bank recently, just before Christmas, had an urgent mechanical need of a vehicle of one of their in-need clients. I have been taking my cars to the Midas Alderwood Lynnwood location for the past two years. I used to go to the dealer for oil changes, but Midas does as good or better job. You can get a 1 hour appointment within a few days and they do a thorough job. I haven't put them to the test for more complicated repairs, but for the basic maintenance they are excellent. We've previously taken our vehicles to Midas in Lynnwood for brakes and other maintenance and Mike was always great to work with and excellent quality work and good prices. We didn't realize until too late that Mike has left and there is new management. they tried to charge us $217.00 for wiper blade replacements which is totally ridiculous for (3) blades. I made them take them off the car and paid $49.00 at a business in the same parking lot. They tried to sell me an "engine flush" for $90 telling me that my oil resevoir was full of sludge ( I change my full synthetic oil every 3500 miles and it is so clear and clean you can hardly see it on the dipstick. They also said our brakes were totally shot and we'd never make it to our trip destination. I declined that service and took the car to Les Schwab. Upon inspection the rear brakes needed replacement but the fronts had 60% pad left. I will not be taking our vehicles to this Midas shop again. read more

They quoted me $1800 to replace 6 spark plugs and 3 back coils in my RAV4 V6....called around no one came in that high...went else where and found out the 3 coils I would have fixed with Midas's quote would not have fixed the bad coil in the front. I am now have 4 coils replaced and 6 spark plugs replaced for 880$....do not go here they quote insane unrealistic prices. This $1800 quote at Midas was given to me by the store manager and they did not see any fault in it...and it would not have fixed the problem with my car.... read more

I previously got work done here by just walking in the next time I needed additional services done on another suv. Angela that I spoke with was on responsive, rude and did not provide me an estimate for work I wanted performed there. Her attitude and lack of help to do her job and speak with customers, I feel that I won't go back there. If I could give 0 stars I would. The people in the shop are nice but that is one lady that needs to be replaced with someone else who actually wants to be there and enjoys there job. I've been coming here for years with two different vehicles, and I've always been satisfied with the work and repairs. Competitive pricing, and I've never felt they were suggesting repairs that weren't needed. In fact, last time I was in for an oil change, I said I thought I needed my brakes replaced. They checked and insisted my brakes were fine, and all I needed was the oil change. Since it was my idea about the brakes, they totally could have sold me new brakes without any question from me, but they didn't. K That sort of thing is why I keep coming back. My 1st time here, brought our 2012 Rougue in for 30k service. I had called ahead & was quoted a great price, 1/3 what our dealership quote was. They follow Nissans service checklist for 30k. Mike the gentleman I dealt with, is exrremely nice. Both the air filter & in cabin micro air filter are listed in 30k to be changed. Mike called midway thru appt to let me know, our Rogue didn't have a micro in cabin filter, so I wouldn't be charged for it, they would charge only for the other one. I looked in my owners manual, & it said ALL 2012 Rogues have them. I was confused. I said okay. I mean I am not the mechanic, maybe the book had a typo. I was charged less than quoted on phone. However, got home...hubby found the micro cabin air filter after googling it. We went to Auto Zone bought the filter for $12 & replaced it ourselves. I am lucky my hubby is a mechanical guy. It was filthy! Bummed Midas did not know it was on inside of a large panel next to driver peddle. I would give them 5 stars, but I just can't after that. I'm not a big reviewer, but I felt compelled to share my experience with the Lynnwood Midas. I discovered this Midas in late 2019 because it was close to my work. I live 30 minutes away (in Seattle), and I no longer go into my office due to Covid-- but I will absolutely still go out of my way to get my car serviced here. I don't know a lot about car maintenance, so I'm always wary when I take my car somewhere for an oil change and suddenly all these other things "need" to be done. I don't get that feeling here. Each time I've visited, I've left feeling like I've been given an honest opinion about what services need to be performed (currently or in the near future). They don't do that gimmicky thing where they show you your cabin air filter on seemingly every visit and tell you that it needs to be replaced. They don't try to get me to replace my transmission fluid every year (I won't mention names but ... *cough* Grease Monkey). Best of all, each time I leave here (even when some additional minor service beyond an oil change needs to happen), I always leave thinking "wow, that cost significantly less than I thought it was going to." If you're like me, getting your car serviced is usually something you dread because it's a negative experience. Do yourself a favor and check out Midas in Lynnwood. read more

I brought my Nissan SUV into Midas and they took over a month and a half to replace two parts... Every time we called or stopped by for a status update they told us a new bolt or something had broken while they were working. Once they finally said my car was done and we got it home to look under the hood, there were clearly many bolts missing: even the battery was just sitting lose on top. The manager took a look and said he would make sure it was taken care of. Now with my car back for a second time there are multiple new scratches on the leather interior plus the "service engine soon" light came on within 48 hours. Disappointed to say the least. read more

This place is awful. I went in for a brake check. They told me that all of my pads were down to zero, and that I was so lucky to have come in. They also said that the rotors needed to be machined. I didn't have my brakes done there as I thought they were a sketchy place. After they "put my brakes back together", when I pressed on the brake it squealed terribly. If everything was at zero, how was I stopping? Anyhow, I asked my brother who is a mechanic to take a look, and I had 1 and 3 in the front, and 5 and 5 in the back! He changed my brakes for 180 bucks, which included rotors, calipers, and pads on my front brakes. Don't take your car here. And if you do, get a second opinion. They flat out lied to me. read more

We used to get such good service when Mike was the Manager at Alderwood Midas. We recently brought our 2010 Mazda CX9 in for a brake job and we will not be taking any of our vehicles to Alderwood Midas again. We have "Lifetime" free brake pad replacement with Midas. We always trusted Mike and we always received great service. This time, we were sold new rear rotors. They told me they replaced all the brake pads and the parking brake shoes too under warranty. Great! The problem is that they failed to adjust the parking brake. There was zero tension when it was set, and the parking brake would not hold... The parking brake worked great when we dropped the car off with them. So, my wife brought the car back and asked them if they would adjust the parking brake. After waiting for over an hour, they pulled her car in and put it on a lift, and then they told her she needed new E-brake cables and showed her there was no adjustment in the cables. Duh! They are adjusted inside the hat of the rotors, just like drum brakes... which is what the parking brake is on this vehicle. There are drums inside the hat of the brake rotors and a hole through the face of the rotors to allow access to the adjuster. They didn't even check it for adjustment because they never took the wheels off... I have to assume their tech has no idea how to adjust the Drum Parking Brakes on a Mazda... they used to. We'll be finding a new shop for all our regular maintenance. read more

I got a good deal on an oil change which went smoothly. Mike was fairly rude to me the entire time though. Cant expect good customer service skills from a mechanic but pleasantries are appreciated. They found 1400$ worth of repairs to make on my car which no other mechanic found on my car. Im still trying to figure out if the damages found are as they say or if its an upsell. When I questioned the damage Mike was very deffensive and visably displayed anger immediately after my question. I didnt care for the way I was treated overall. Once I check the validity of the $1400 worth of repairs that need to be made to my car, Ill be able to share later. read more

Both my husband and I had to take our cars here last minute due to the crazy snow we've been having. My snow chains came loose and tore up the underside of my car, and the tread on his tires were so bad that they couldn't get him out of his parking spot. We managed to make it in and even though they were busy, they made time and got both cars taken care of today. Walked in to ask about key fob batteries. They were unfortunately out of stock, but advised on where to go and even offered to open my stubborn fob. No money was exchanged, but they still provided me with great and friendly service. Will definitely come back when I have an auto issue for them to fix. read more

Geez, these guys are great. Mike has always been a great help with the few cars I've brought in. He is very knowledgeable, and even though I have an old 90 chevy van, he can at the drop of a hat tel me different things that could be wrong, whether they are easy fixes, and even bolt sizes on some of the repairs. I am always surprised by how quick he is with the diagnostics! I really appreciate their knowledge and honesty. Unfortunately for me I am moving and won't have them near by. BEWARE!! These guys will take advantage of anyone seeming gullible! My wife found a coupon for an oil change, and made an appointment. Before she left I specifically told her not to buy any add ons. Luckily she listened. They told her that her brakes were shot and she needed a new battery. Their quote for the brakes was about $300. We called the dealership, and they quoted us $179 over the phone, so we made an appointment. The wife dropped her car off this morning and received a call back within an hour saying her brakes and battery were in great shape and did not need to be replaced. They could have made a buck and changed the pads anyway, as we had asked, but they chose the higher ethical path, which we appreciated, and will guarantee them our future business. It appears that Midas is a predator to those unwilling to question them or seek a second opinion.. BEWARE!! UPDATE: I noticed oil on the floor of my garage today, where my wife parks her semi-new car. They either didn't tighten the oil drain plug properly, tighten the oil filter properly or they spilled oil on the engine that is slowly dripping off. MIDAS LYNNWOOD, WA - They are amazing!!!....I bought a new car and was planning to give my old, 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe, to my daughter, but not until I made it safe enough to move my three grandkids about. I took my car to three other shops, knowing exactly what the car needed, to get quotes for an all 'round brake job. ALL three quoted a price for brakes and rotors front and rear; however, I knew I had new brake pads on the front and my brake fluid had been changed recently. MIDAS LYNNWOOD was the ONLY shop that said my front pads and fluid was good. AND...they were also the best price even with upgraded rotors. They worked hard to address my car's needs and cost. I tried to give Mike, as the manager of the shop, the benefit of the doubt that everyone has bad days at work, but he was rude at each time I had interactions with him. I was also surprised when he discredited an employee. I had simple services done on my car only for emergency reasons, but would never go back or recommend the shop. If anyone were to interact with Mike at the shop, one will more likely notice his negativity and rude personality as seems to be his nature. I don't think they did it to get us out of there, just that the guys scheduling was cool. All the workers there were pleasant to us. Mike is awesome, and the whole team shows consistently good service and professionalism. Took my car here a couple months ago for a breaks repair and the price quote was 2/3 the price of most nearby auto repair shops. Mike is AWESOME and so nice. He is receptive and actually listens to the full story before jumping to a diagnosis. After replacing my breaks, he even tightened my belts (as they were squealing pretty bad) free of charge! I took my car here again today because it was due-time for a new battery. Mike scheduled a same-day appointment for me, even having had to order in the battery since it was a specific type. NOT TO MENTION, the battery and service came to about $30 less than what it would have been at a few other places I was considering. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

I went for an axle shaft change and they charged me for 1.4 hours even if the total labor took around 50 minutes. They even made a small not on my final bill that total labor took around 50 minutes and when I asked them why I'm being charged for 1.4 hours they said that this is how their computer set it... I recommend you look somewhere else with more realistic hours for actual labor. read more

They were absolutely awesome. We started off on a bad foot but I ended up having the best experience possible. My car was veering to the right and I came in and asked them to fix it. I bought a new part that was almost bent in half and could have been the problem. Nothing. They did an allignment, and they said it didn't veer anymore. When I drove it, it did, though. So I took it back and they did a few other things. When I got it back, it drove beautifully. And they only charged me for the original parts and labor for my troubles. My old commuter car had an exhaust leak in the engine compartment area that was getting louder and louder and the car was losing power. I thought for sure it was going to cost big bucks. I needed the car fixed quickly so I called the local dealership and got a quote range that was more than the car was worth. Instead I took the car to the Midas in Lynnwood. They were friendly and courteous and it didn't take them long to find and fix the problem (ERG valve on the engine was loose). The cost was a lot less than the local dealership's mandatory one hour diagnostic fee. Very good overall experience. read more
