Last year, the brakes on my car were shot, and I kept avoiding the inevitable... The few estimates I received seemed quite high. After reading reviews of Brakes For Less, I stopped in. Within a few minutes, I received a very reasonable estimate to have everything replaced. OK, I said, can I make an appointment to have the work done? Oh, we can get started right away, they told me! So in about an hour and a half, I had 4 sets of new rotors and pads. Now, more than a year later, the brakes are still operating great, and I couldn't be more satisfied. Oh, one thing...if they ask if you want to sit in their waiting room until they finish, politely decline - it could use a little refurnishing! CALL OTHER SHOPS FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!! If I could give Brakes for Less a negative star review I would. I went here based off the quote I received on the phone. Seemed to be decently priced and some of the reviews were alright. Dropped my car off and waited for an update. They came at me with the highest quote I received from any brake company in the area. I was told I needed new rotors ad had only 1% on my pads all around. After telling them that I was not budgeted for this, they continued to tell me WHY i needed to and that's when sales mode kicked on, reciting all the "facts" they needed to try to tell me to try to get me to spend more money. I left upset and let down that a business titled brakes for less would not live up to their name. After making some more phone calls I realized that they were just trying to get me to pay for services I may have not needed. Went and got 3 different inspections done and EACH PLACE said my rotors were still good and able to resurface. So this place was just trying to charge me for work i didn't even need done. The pricing they gave me as well was about 4.5 times higher for their cost of pads and rotors. They tried to say it was because Tariffs.......do your actual research before you make up some garbage line. If I can buy the same rotors and or pads for way cheaper....... you are more than likely getting them for a better deal through CarParts or even rock auto or some other distributor. So, I warn people please call around and absolutely get second and third opinions before you get taken over the coal by these guys. read more

Don't know what happened to this place. Took my car in here about 5 years ago. The people were nice, got my pads done for a descent price. This time? Total scam. They said I needed to also get my rotors replaced and my brake fluid flushed. Fluid that is 4 years old. Got a second opinion and they told me my brake pads weren't even terrible but could be replaced. Rotors were completely fine and brake fluid was good. Saved myself $600. These guys are a rip off. Took my truck in 2 months ago to have my brakes looked at. They called me a few hours later telling me my rear pads and rotors needed replacing. Total was just under $900. I have an old '91 Subaru that's way past its prime but is still a good workhorse, so I took it down to have it checked out. Dan was extremely honest with me, after getting the car up on the rack and giving it a thorough inspection he told me that the running gear was basically worn out (wheel bearings, etc.), the brake rotors couldn't be turned any more and would need to be replaced, and the calipers also needed to be replaced, which kicked the repair costs from a simple basic brake job for under $1K up closer to $2K. He told me, "Basically, you need to decide what this car is really worth to you, because unfortunately it's not going to be a cheap repair at all due to the cost of the parts needed because it's just tired and worn out." They didn't even charge me a penny for the inspection, the mechanic was just as honest also, telling me he used to have an old '89 Subaru he loved as well and that I could probably get another 100K miles or so out of mine before it finally gives up. I appreciated that a lot. I cannot begin to express how refreshing it was to deal with HONEST people who were more interested in doing the right thing than taking your money and hoping for the best. I have recently used their service for replacing brakes of my car (Mercedes GLE). Firstly they took 2 days in completing the work as they had some technical issue at their side (they mentioned to me that computer wasn't working). Further after finishing the work as well, my car was still warning about break pad replacement was not fixed. They told me that this is my car communication system has issue and I should show it someone who is expert of European cars. They charged me full price for brakes work as they told me that it is my car communication system issue and brakes work is done properly and rotor, sensors & break pads are replaced properly. I showed the car to their suggested car repair shop. They looked at the error and immediately told me break pad sensor must not be properly installed otherwise car break pad warning would have gone away automatically. Further, they looked at sensor and told me that it needs replacement as sensor looks be broken while installation . I reordered the sensors from Mercedes and got them replaced now and warning is also gone. But it is very sad & disappointing for customer that they did not install sensors properly and I need to reorder them and get them installed again.
