Dana is a scammer. Don't bring your car here. I paid $209 for a diag and smoke test because I had a very rough idle and I wanted to check for any leaks. Get my car back the next day for him to tell me the smoked it from the front end to the back end whatever that mean and that there was nothing wrong with my car and to bring it back in month when it breaks down. So I bring my car to another mechanic who sends me a video that I asked dana to take of the smoke test. My egr valve was leaking. Got video clear as day of it. So how you gunna tell me nothing is wrong now Dana? I want a refund. Im low income i don't have alot of money. I have disabilities. And for you to steal from me just goes to show how evil you are. We were desperate to find somebody to get her up and running -- and it's not easy to find a mechanic in another state, especially one who will patch you up in a short time. What a great first visit to Bucky's in Shoreline!!Huong was the first person there when I got to the shop 15 minutes before their posted open hours. He didn't shoo me away and let me know I could wait for Jordan inside. When Jordan came in, she was so personable and kind, I immediately sensed it would be a great experience here! I had an oil change, tire rotation, and all-points inspection, and they were done w my services within an hour - incredible! I had previously brought my car to another Bucky's location, not too far up the road, and the mechanic there was rude to me. I broke down outside of the shop. Dana tree s to work up front a s I got a very good reception from him. I was stuck. They are very busy but he took my car and it was fixed the next day. Im watching my pennies and the door starts instead of five was cost. Truthfully it was fair and no more than any other garage and probably less. Dana was a pro all the way and never lost his patience. I had to keep it there an extra day for financial reasons (cost was ($600) and he was OK with it. Getting work done now on 06 Escalade. Pads and rotors. Keep you posted on how it goes. Charging $1700 for pads and rotos and $400 for diagnostic. Will be calling Cadilac to get prices. Never paid more than $1100 with OEM parts. Will have a mechanic friend check them out when they've finished. Update this review later. Feel free to comment. Well , $2000 for the breaks and Rotos. 200 the diagnosis.Brother in law works at Cadalac in Alaska. Cadillac says $780 pads and rotors. Maybe $500 for labor. So all of n at Cadillac $1300 and they wouldn't charge for diagnosis . A tad bit more than $2000. So I'm going to have to post this around unless they call me and tell me I get a huge discount. Beware of being overcharged if your a single woman! I went in to have my brakes checked and they call to tell me a bunch of stuff is wrong (very fast) and that it will be $2300 to fix and my car is completely unsafe to drive if I don't get it fixed immediately. I had my dad call and talk to the mechanic and my dad said not to get it done there because they were charging THREE TIMES the cost of parts. Went to D&D brakes the next day (love them!) and got what I needed done for $700. Not sure how the ppl at Bucky's sleep at night. read more

Went in for the free inspection. I was concerned about my muffler slash catalytic converter being loaded and needing attention, but the comment by my reviewer that they would do whatever I asked them to do. The fact that he never told me either my catalytic converter OR my muffler was loaded or full suggested to me that the work did not need to be done, but was merely "optional." It was his body language and facial expressions that told me my car was fine and didn't need any work, but they would have had me to act on my suspicions and waste my money. Honesty is everything in this business--and that includes the withholding of information. read more

i went to this this joint once and they told me i needed 3500 in repairs for 4-5 different things for a ford ranger that cost me 2700. my friend and i fixed 4 of things ourselves for 70$ for most things and one thing i ended up actually paying for $700 total parts and labor at acme auto electric down street. they also said i needed brakes. i didnt. read more

Shop did exactly what I needed them to do. I called them at 3pm on a Friday out of the blue and they said they would help me out. So I came in with my 2005 Toyota Corolla on a tow truck, and explained that I tried to replace my alternator but the very last bolt, which happened to be the bottom alternator mount bolt, was both seized and stripped. I called numerous shops that refused to service my car, due to the fact that I bought the alternator from somebody that wasn't them, even though the part I bought is literally OEM from a Toyota dealership. Not Bucky's though, they told me they would work on it. An experienced car-guy friend of mine told me that if any shop charged over $250 for the work, to not go to that shop. Well, Bucky's final price for the job was $232 including taxes and all the jazz. Overall, I'd say this is a good shop if you 1) have a specific, rather niche problem like I had, 2) it's obvious that you're knowledgeable on exactly what you need serviced. I was able to explain every part of the problem. It's when you're uncertain that mechanics shops can scam you, I'm reading lots of reviews here (mainly from women ) that say the shop scams you by saying x y z is wrong with your car when it's not. This isn't an issue if you simply have some basic knowledge on your car and know what's wrong and what isn't. read more

I have been coming to Buckys a few years. The mechanics are very good at explaining a laundry list of items that you need and what is wrong with my car. Therefore I thought I indeed needed those repairs. The last time they worked on my car the cap wasent tighten from my oil changed. My car leaked underneath and I had to take it in again. Then less then five minutes when I leave I had to come back because the car would vibrate in parked. They explained it's some stick park I "needed". So now since I already paid 5 grand (the first time) to get my car repaired. I'm covered and won't be charged for their labor. Warranty. My car sat in there other car lot for over a month while they worked on other cars. The manager didn't communicate with me that he was trying to find an "old part". None of them were working so he was going to order a new one. And charge me another grand for it. So I went to another mechanic a few months later. Had an oil change, new wipers. It costed me $83.00 dollars. Not five grand. Which on top of the new car repair, 6 grand. There was nothing wrong with my car. Your not a good person selling the public car services they don't need and charging them out prices. read more

This place is a ripoff. I came in to see if they would replace my rear brake pads and they told me on top of the brake pad I needed new rotors and calipers and wanted to say I needed brake fluid replacement. This all came out over $900. They tried to get me to apply to some financing BS. I don't think they even jacked my car up to look at my calipers or rotor. I ended up replacing my own brake pads myself and doing all the work on my own. I came there for the convenience of having someone to do it instead of me getting dirty. If I could give this place a zero I would. I would recommend people do there own homework before relying on auto mechanics. There are some shady ass places and this is one of them in my neighborhood. Also no one is interested in listening to your employees bullshit political nonsense. Keep that shit to yourself especially when it makes no fucking sense. First time for the one star reviews, because I'm bring my own oil, the manager or owner let them put the used low quality oil for me, as you can see the pic that I took is shit yellow, because they may put on their own car later even though they are not using that top brand oil for the customer, they charged me $30 for labor, Do they have a conscience? Later they call police let me leave and don't allow me to talk just because they afraid let me speaks the truth avoid let others to hear this shop is swindling money! Totally felt bullied because they may think I'm a girl knows nothing about the car. They knew very well, the old engine oil cause the engine damage quick, so there is another excuse for them to contact you to replace the auto parts and labor, how smart of the business. Strongly requested let the customer see how mechanic work so that would be avoid the scam happened. And I have to spend extra $80 to find a reliable place to do it again. I had my brakes done in December, to the tune of 1200.00 dollars two, for about a month i heard a small noise, did not know where it was. i had my oil changed and asked if they could check out the noise, it was a spring not put on correctly and cost me 200.00 more to fix, call Buckys today, and he was not helpful at all. very poor service all around, highly recomend not taking your car there.... read more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I went here on a few occasions over the years to get work done. First impression was that this is a friendly, family business... then as the pandemic hit, they started to discriminate against certain customers. I figured, I just need to get my car fixed and could overlook the poor customer service of the front desk. They replaced a few parts and did tune ups over a few sessions. Seemed great at first, car was working... then fast forward to a year later- car breaks down in the middle of the desert, a year after that the car starts with a burning smell. During these incidents I took the car to several different mechanics, all unaffiliated. EVERY SINGLE TIME the issue was due to work we got from Bucky's: either an incorrect part, a defective part, or installed incorrectly. They are the common denominator to all my car problems. Not to mention, Bucky's often charges double for their shoddy work. Sometimes it's difficult to review mechanics because the issues may not be obvious at first. This was for work done between 2016-2020 and the issues began in 2021. If you're not knowledgeable about cars they will take advantage of you and you'll be left with a disaster brewing. This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Should you give them a try? Perhaps they have new staff and mechanics? I ask you....why take a chance? read more

Highly highly recommend the shoreline location!!! My check engine light came on and I had no idea what could be causing it. I was super stressed considering it is my only car. I called and David answered the phone, he told me they had a couple cars ahead but would make sure to get me taken care of. Within an hour they found an oil leak and were able to explain it to me, showed me pictures and walked me through what they needed to do. Dana was able to print me out the overall price and let me know they could have it completed before the end of shop day. They finished an HOUR EARLY and my car was like new. I felt like I could trust them and they did not treat me any different for any reason. I didn't feel like they were trying to scam me being a woman or for owning a BMW. I will NEVER go anywhere else (even for oil changes) , hands down the best experience I've had having to deal with car troubles, they replaced my oil cap, oil gasket and did a full synthetic oil change! I should've checked the rating for this shop on Yelp before I had my service done here. Google maps review was decent so I went in to get my brakes done. Well, things didn't turned out so well. They kept my car for 3 days for a simple brake pad replacement, and tried to upsell me a 3 months old Rotors. They charged me ridiculously high price for the replacement as well. This shop is totally not reliable. Highly recommend other shops this place is meh. read more

I had my car towed to Bucky's in Shoreline, Wa and was given a diagnosis of needing a new alternator. When inquired why it was so expensive I was told because it's a foreign car (2008 LR2). Since our family has used Bucky's and trusted Bucky's I went ahead and had the work done. Three weeks later the car was running rough, brought it back to Bucky's and this time it was the map sensor and a fuel and emissions cleaning. Two weeks later the car is completely dead. They wanted the car to be towed to them again. I got suspicious so called around for prices of alternators and Map Sensor parts including OEM and found out the mark up was over 40%. I called Bucky's asked to speak to the manager (Dave), he got really defensive and said he can mark up his parts as much as he wanted to. I reported them to the BBB and their corporate office reached out and was going to have the district manager Damien contact me. Well that was no help, instead of listening to their customers concerns he gets defensive and said they mark up 25% for parts. So I asked for a copy of the invoice for the parts and was told there was no way of getting that information that it would be like me going to Ivars and ordering fish and asking them for an invoice of where they get their fish. He also advised me that the dealerships use refurbished used parts, unknown why he needed to tell me that. And he also tells me by the way Dave is not the manager at the Shoreline shop it's Jake. He wanted me to tow the car to another Bucky's and I declined. I told him how do you expect me to trust any Bucky's and their representatives. I called a couple of other Bucky's and was quoted $700 to $500 less for an alternator. So now waiting to get the car into LR dealership which is back logged with appointments. I how corporate is doing their due diligence and following up on these complaints. Your customers does matter, right??? read more

Late one night my wife was having an emergency in her vehicle and pulled into this garage on the way home. Because they were closing, she anticipated leaving the car for them to work on the next day. Instead, they pulled it right in and addressed the problem... Something minor that was causing a major issue. They also declined to charge her for the work, saying that they were glad to be able to help. Since then, they have gotten all of our business... I've had great experiences with Bucky's. I've had a muffler put on a while ago, which was put on nicely and in a timely manner. But more recently, I had bought two exhaust tips from them that I needed welded on. They did it today so quickly I was shocked! Tim and dave were super professional and had great service. Stephen, who had welded on my tips, answered any questions that I had during and after the job. I have on two occasions in the last 4 months had my car repaired by Bucky's on Aurora Ave in Shoreline and was impressed by the manager Jacob who helped get my car fixed right away and the mechanics did a great job!! I compared with other local shops the cost and the time it would take to get an appointment-and by far there was no comparison. As recent as Tuesday 3-08-2022 when my catalytic converter was stolen - I called and took it in. They assessed the problem, had the right part and fixed it the same day. Other places I enquirer would not be able to fit in an appointment for days. I appreciated the manager named Jacob and the mechanic named Stephen who had fixed my car. They shifted other work around to be able to get my car working again- and made an effort to help me. I appreciate having them in the community to help solve these car problems that crop up - as a resource. They are problem solvers and show a willingness to help others. Just purchased a car and found out if had a significant oil leak. I came in about 4pm and had them look to see where the oil was leaking from. They determined my oil pan was cracked, so they ordered the parts, replaced the oil pan, and I drove my car out of there just after their closing time of 6pm. Dana was incredible. What a great guy who just knocked himself out to help me and so did the techs! I know that my experience may not be what they would be able to do for everyone, depending on their workload, but man, I can't tell you how impressed I am and how grateful I am that you really went way above the call of duty for me. Bucky is Walt's son, or so I've been told. Walt's no longer at this location, it's now Bucky's. And Bucky has been in business for 38 years, my guess is Bucky started werk'n automotive in the womb or at least a very early age.... I'll give their manager Trisha 5+ stars for the simple fact that she did me try to do me right in trying to fix my issues I had after a recent water pump fix. 6 weeks after their repair, my truck almost overheats while sitting at a stop light. Once home, I let the engine cool down and find that radiator is damn near empty and the reservoir is dry. I gave Trish a jingle yesterday and she rushed me right in. But not before reminding me to fill up the radiator before driving it, thanks Trish, but I'd done that already. I just thought that was a nice touch. They wheel the purple-beast into a bay and Bingo, within minutes find a leak in a hose that goes from the recently repaired water pump back to the engine, cost, cheap enough, they could fix it today, so I said, DO IT! 2 hours later, because of a parts mix up, my back is aching, the "free" coffee looks like mud, no free Wi-Fi, crappy choices in magazines, i.e. Hockey Today?, Monster Truck Madness, and Gun's and Ammo? (Not my cup of tea.). To top that off the crappy little 13 inch TV was stuck on the WB. While I got shafted in watch'n "Charmed", damn that show is weird but I'd watch it just for Alissa Milano! GRRRRRR!!!! I waited for the parts guy to show up, again. Things are fixed, prices seem a little stiff, but hey, they gotta make a living, so I understand. I'll be back for the $13.95 oil change....3.5 stars... PS- Trish if you are reading this, you ROCK in my book. Your Grease monkeys DID NOT do the oil change last time around, I'm glad you had them re-do it. I know they didn't do it because, 1) I didn't have one of those little reminder cling-on's, on my window, 2) The oil filter was clean and a different brand than what was on their before I brought it in. 3) The oil looks clean! I've been there several times now and I've never been disappointed always happy with the work and the price. These guys know what they're doing they are professional and best of all, they only do what needs to be fixed and don't try to sell you unnecessary services or things. Like I said before I'm very knowledgeable when it comes to mechanic work and by far this is the best shop I have been to. They're also very fairly priced!!!
