    Beef ribs

The food tasted good, but for $24 I expected full ribs not half of the meat taken off the top of them. Also the chicken needed sauce. Luckily, the guy added some to the bag (no extra charge) after I saw the lack of sauce and made a comment to get more.

I felt welcomed from the moment I entered! The food was hot and fresh and he helped me order to my taste!!! I came for curry chicken but he was out so he offered curry goat which was very tender. I also ordered jerk island wings and the oxtails were fall off the bone tender as well!! I will definitely be back!

Amazing place. I will definitely be back. Jiallo's is run by people from Guinea. The food is rich and flavorful and the portions are generous. If you are looking for a slick place where some cheery blonde greets you and takes you to your table so you can see and be seen, this is not it. If you are looking for a simple place offering authentic, flavorful ethnic food that you won't find in too many other places in Indy, this is it.

First time here, came in for lunch and didn't want another drive thru meal. It was my second time trying Jamaican food so I asked the owner what he would recommend. He asked if I liked spicy food so he set me up with the Jerk Chicken Lunch, which comes with 2 sides. I chose jollaf rice and plantains. I told the owner that my only other time eating Jamaican food was with a dry patty. He then proceeded to give me a hot and freshly made patty for free. It was so flavorful and not dry at all! The food was amazing. My favorites were the Jerk chicken, the party and that jollaf rice. I'm excited to return. Run, don't walk here and get you some amazing food too!

I drive by this place frequently as it's right down the street from my house and if you blink you may just drive right by and not know it. It's tucked back in the corner of a strip mall at 79th St. and Michigan Rd right next to the Tite Barn for more reference. Once you walk in you go to the counter and place your order, pay, and have a seat. I'm not sure if you have a big group if you would still order at the counter. The lady at the counter was super friendly and explained a few dishes I was unsure of. I went with the jerk chicken, jollof rice, and fried plantains and was told it would be about 15 mins. I think I waited less than 10 mins which was nice surprise. Once I received my food and habout 5 mins or so to let it cool and get a few good bites in they checked on me to see if I needed anything. The portion was quite big and I had enough leftovers for another full meal for my lunch the following day! Go check them out! Great food and friendly staff.

Good, honest, amazing African food. The Jerk chicken five stars. Highly recommend the oxtails. The prices are fair.

I must have come on an off day. My expectations were a bit high. I had received great reviews and recommendations for this place; but at my visit all the hype came crashing down. When I walked in, there wasn't anyone else in the restaurant. I wondered if they were open. But nonetheless the young lady seated us and began to wait on our table. I assumed that since we were the only party in the restaurant we were get great service. The thing of it is it wasn't great, she was just a bit much. It seemed a little awkward. Just my opinion. I began to order some dishes and it felt like everything I asked for they were out of. No beef patties. No curry chicken. I can't remember the other thing, but there were at least two or three things that were not available that were on the menu. When the food did come, it was too spicy. And that could just be because of my meager American taste buds. I know in Caribbean cuisine things are usually a bit heated, but this was really unbearable. We couldn't really eat the food it was so spicy. We ended up bearing through it (didn't want to waste food and money) and eating it but it didn't even really taste good. The vegetables and rice were so bland; I guess they concentrated on seasoning the meat, they forgot the vegetables. When it came time to pay, the young lady was awkward there too. I'm not sure if she was trained as a waitress or what. Normally what happens is, they give you the check and then they walk away and come back a few minutes later. She was back no more than 60 seconds later. I just felt a bit rushed like, "nobody else is here what's the rush?!?". I feel like the awkwardness of the waitress turned me off a bit. Like I was being rushed, I don't know. Like I said at the beginning maybe it was just an off day.

This is truly a gem on the Westside of Indianapolis within the culturally diverse International Marketplace. I stopped here for a late lunch on my day off and after contemplating the many choices offered I decided to go with the jerk chicken dinner with jollof rice and fried plantains as my sides with a delicious byssop (sweet hibiscus drink). The dining area was clean and the hostess was patient and helpful as I came to my decision. They restaurant has a lot of good options to choose from but would recommend the dinner portions if you have a bigger appetite. I took my order to go and would suggest getting the byssop w/o ice (ice will be in a separate cup) because once you take a sip of it you are gonna want all you can get. The jerk chicken was just right in terms of flavors and spice and paired very well with the rice and complemented the fried plantains.

Everything we tried was pretty good. The beef meat patty is tiny bit spicy, tomato and onion stir fry was a surprise. Beef rib is really good. Oxtail is really good. Red bean and rice is good.

All I can say is go. I've tried almost every Caribbean restaurant in Indy and I can say this is the best. Customer service was the best of any restaurant I've been to. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Location is clean and very welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was prepared perfectly with amazing portions and seasoned perfectly.

Stopped in for a quick lunch in-between rounds of golf, and wanted my playing partners to experience a spot with unique food. As it turns out, we all ordered the same dish (albeit with different sides)...jerk chicken. The meal came with with sides, I choice the fried plantains and rice & beans. The food took a while to come out (even though the place was unfortunately mostly empty)...but had a nice presentation on the plate. There were three pieces of cut-up chicken alongside my two sides. The jerk chicken was spicy but moist and tasty. The fried plantains could have been a bit more caramelized but had a good, sweet flavor. The dirty rice and beans were mildly spiced and complimented the chicken well. Server was very friendly but a bit absent during the meal. Would definitely return if in the area.

By the time we left, they were open for business inside. There is A LOT to be said for a business opening under the circumstances that they can work under, so I really appreciated them being open and serving! I ordered the vegetable stew, a veggie pattie, and a jerk chicken kid's meal. You will get so much food even with the kid's meal. The chicken was cooked very well and tasted delicious. I ordered the spicy sauce, and while I think it could have been much hotter, I think most people would find it sufficiently spicy. I would 100% get the vegetable stew and the jerk chicken again, but would probably pass on the pattie. Nothing wrong with it, but the other dishes were just that much more amazing that I'd like to save room for them. Don't hesitate to give this location a chance. You won't regret it!

Here's the real: While this places price point is below the amount of food you get- everyone knows in today's climate, eating out isn't financially responsible on a whim. Ok; now to the food. Why haven't I tried this before now? I ultimately went because I attended a Yelp elite event around the corner at a coffee shop & I was starving for something savory yet not something that is already in my monthly rotation. I saw the larger than life sign as I drove down the street and pulled over. I checked their menu online first to see if they were open & what their price point was. All checked out. On the first day, I ordered the chicken curry meal for $14.95 plus I added two beef Pattie's & one curry shrimp pattie. I was blown away by the flavor in the curry chicken, the veggies were cooked perfectly & the flavor was on point. The rice & cabbage were also great (I wish I got a little more cabbage tho lol but that's just me being greedy) The second day - I brought my man. He ordered what I had on the first day and I ordered the jerk chicken + rice/beans & cabbage. WOWZERS! I noticed on the ordering site you can order whole jerk turkeys & chickens for special occasions as well as catering sized sides. I'm 100% plotting on my next visit. My tummy and tastebuds were so pleased! Thank you YASO!

The inside is quite roomy with plenty of room to spread out. We were quickly seated and greated to get our drink orders. A few of us tried the passion fruit juice drink which comes in a rather large glass but was quite good. For an appetizer we ordered a few of the Haitian Pates which were amazing and each one was big enough for 2-4 people to share. For our meals, we ordered the chicken entree, pork entree and the turkey entree. Each entree came with a number of side items on the plate. I was amazed at how much food and how many items we received for the price we paid. The server was very friendly and attentive although we did have to chase her down for the bill which wasn't really a problem. Plan on having cash to tip because once she ran my card, she said she didn't have a way to add tip to the bill or the credit card slip. Maybe you can add it ahead of time, but I didn't think to ask before. Luckily our party had some cash to tip. We really enjoyed all of the food and will definitely be back soon.

There is a lot of parking available in the lot that it shares with the other business in the strip mall that it is located. They have a decent sized dining area, that almost looks like a banquet hall. There is a roped of VIP area, a non-alcoholic bar with seating, a vip room and a stage where they host live music. It looks like it would be a hoping place on weekends. You will also find an ATM here as well as a few televisions around the bar area. There is a patio area in the front of the restaurant, but it was closed and had tables stacked on top of each other when I was there. I decided to dine in, which was kind of awkward. I was never seated. I just found a table after standing there for about 5 minutes. The table was not very stable and rocked throughout my meal. Normally, the server brings a glass of water out to the patrons too, but that was not the case here. I had to even track down the server to take my order. The staff there is friendly enough, but as I have mentioned, they are very hard to communicate with. They offer a limited menu that rotates based on the day of week. This is an authentic restaurant. I mean authentic, authentic. communicating with them was very difficult. They did not understand a word I said and vice versa. Somehow I was able to place my order, even though it took a while. I went with the fried goat, which came with french fries, plantains and slaw. I ended up having to point out the drink I wanted in the cooler behind the bar. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food and it looked delicious. I will be honest though, it was not very good. The plantains tasted like cardboard, the fries were a bit off too. The goat was good, but it and the rest of the food was luke warm at best. It was like it was already prepared and just put on the platter. I ended up throwing my plantains away and I do not like to waste food, but I just could not eat them. I really really had high hopes for this place, but it did not deliver. The food just did not do it for me. The communication issue affected the service and the prices were a bit steep. my meal and drink ran me about $25. I hope that my visit was an off day for the restaurant, but I will probably not be coming back anytime soon.
