I'm expected to tip my waitstaff and also pay an extra dollar per item just because I chose to dine in. For example, the cupcake is usually $4.75 to go, but they charged me an extra $1 for dining in. Their cake slices are usually $9.50 to go, but I was charged $10.50. I also tipped 20%, so the added charge felt frustrating, especially since there was no clear notice. When I asked the waitstaff about the $1 charge, she said it was entered that way because I dined in. When I later called about it, the manager simply said, "Next time, just order to go if you don't want to be charged extra." That response was disappointing, especially since there was no visible sign explaining this policy, and their dine-in menu does not show separate pricing.
