My Husband and I stopped here for a drink on a hot summer July day. They have mist fans in the main area. There is water stations to get additional water which is helpful when it's hot af outside . They have a variety of drinks to include cider, wine, beer, and cocktails. The day we went they didn't have flight boards available so carry what you can drink. You can also buy bottles to go. There is food but limited for me who is dairy free and gluten free. I saw a lot of pizza being consumed which looked delicious. Visiting Austin for a few, hot (95º+) days, our host suggested a brewery tour for a party of six. Boy, was it haut! Menu ordering is by QR code or at bar. Quite a number of IPAs available. The tour was over an hour with a passionate (if not loquacious) guide. Sampled a number of products. A large pavilion sheltered the patrons from the heat, cooled by large ceiling-mounted misting fans. The wood-fired pizzas were good as was the crispy salad. A bluegrass quartet entertained the patrons and families along with canines. Large screen TVs entertained NFL fans. read more

Such a cool brewery to visit! Just a quick drive outside of Austin. It's huge! Plenty of seating and space to eat, drink, hang out or check out the goats! We arrived a few minutes before it opened and the goats were out for their daily stroll- such a cool experience to hang out with over 60 goats. The selection and quality of beer was great and so was the service. We went on a very hot day, so we were thankful that there were fans with misters. Highly recommend! read more

Their vegan pizza is FABULOUS. The pizza generally can feed at least two people, but I found myself hoping my husband didn't want his slices. Creamy cashew cheese, pesto, some cauliflower, and in the biggest surprise for me- pickled radishes, which I normally don't like, but this was great. Bonus: the crust is so dang good. It's a whole experience, more than just a brewery. The land provides space for beer hall, picnic tables, goat farm, and much more, something for everyone. It's definitely worth the drive from Austin. As many have noted, the setting is great, out in the country. And as others have noted, some days it's insanely crowded. One thing for me that is undisputed is the beer quality. I love saisons and farmhouse/Spon style ales, and this place is a sort of a Mecca for me. Can rarely get JK in NorCal, so I'll wait to drink one of these guys at the brewery. Stopped by here in our way back from Hamilton Pool. There was quite a line when we got there to check in for some reason, which they said was to just ID you. However in the end you put your order online and get a text for pickup. The website claimed a 30 minute wait for pizza, but by the time we decided it was a little over an hour wait. Not ideal, and I feel like for pizza it should be pretty quick since they have the stone oven. That's the main reason I knocked a star off. The pizza itself was phenomenal. Knowing the wait we should have ordered 2 for 3 people. We got a side of olives that comes in a large container which we also enjoyed. The ambiance here was pretty chill. You get folks who are just super casual and then folks who look like they could be instagram influencers here. Witnessed a birthday group, a bachelorette party, a baby shower, and a pug meetup all together! There is also an area for goats if you wander far enough to check them out. There's also a nature trail which we didn't get to explore. Next to the stable was a private area where we also saw a wedding gathering. read more

Really cool brewery out in the country away from the hustle of Austin. It was so nice to get out of the city for a while and enjoy some tasty food and farmhouse beers. We had a pepperoni pizza which was really good. Tasted like it was baked in a coal oven. I got a flight of beers which were all pretty solid. A lot of farmhouse style beers which tend to be warmer and drier. I liked them but not my favorite style. My daughter enjoyed walking out and seeing the goats by the barn. Prices were a bit steep but considering their good reputation it's probably priced pretty fairly. read more

Goats, beer, and pizza! What more could you want? Goats: We went on the goat tour and it was really hard to figure out where to go and how it was going to start. Thankfully, we were able to find the tour group and it was so fun to hang out with the goats in the goat pen. Plus, ticket proceeds go to hopefully raising a new goat barn. Beer: great! No complaints, would highly recommend. Pizza: honestly, probably some of the best pizza I've had full stop, and likely the best in Austin (yes...better than pinthouse), which is mostly why I gave this place 5 stars. We got the Gus pizza and the hot honey really sealed the deal. The only downside was that it took about 90 minutes to get it! To be fair, I should have guessed that this place might be packed on the weekends and done some research beforehand. Right now, everything is ordered online (avoid picking the curbside option if you're onsite!) so you can see how long the wait time is before you go and potentially order ahead so that it's ready by the time you get there (we went on a Sat night). Definitely recommend this as a unique Austin experience, especially if you're being friends or family from out of town. Even if you don't go on the goat tour, there is lots of space to roam around, people bring their kids and their dogs to just hangout. There's also live music some nights. Great Venue. Exclusively outdoor (some covered) seating on a goat ranch/brewery located in the beautiful Texas hill-country. The brewery specializes in farm house ales, all unique and very good, and has wine and ciders from other local businesses available. They also make some good pizzas and a variety of other eats. Yet another spacious brewery, this one sprawled after several acres of Texas ranch. There's plenty of parking, and there's ample seating in a main hall as well as several picnic tables scattered throughout the hills. Enjoyed the outdoorsy setting, with trails for taking a short stroll after a drink or two. There's even a goat petting zoo and playgrounds for children. Wish we had a bit more time to explore the premises as well as try out the food trucks, but that'll have to wait until next time! read more

This oasis of a brewery, goat farm (doom metal goat yoga, anyone?), and nature reserve...is epic. Super solid beers (primarily known for sours/wild ales, but great IPAs and stouts to boot), wide open spaces with 2 bars (with differing taps), a goat farm for family fun, walking trails, and even scratch-made wood fired pizza! This time we got the Mason (red sauce, mushrooms, pepperoni, red onions, fresh Lioni mozzarella, pecorino Romano) and, even though I try to never ever have pizza while traveling (something we New Yorkers aren't exactly starved for, thankfully), this...was delicious. Could it have been the beer talking? Perhaps slightly...but this was admitted good pizza, and just what I needed. Had to try the blue corn muffin, as I do love me some corn muffin/bread - it was fine, but better to have more room for pizza or beer lol About a 30ish min uber/lyft ride from Austin, there's absolutely no excuse to not stop by and make one incredible day of things! I was back here in March 2020 and now having revisitedin March 2022 (F-you covid and messing up SXSW 2021...and so much more), this place is a must. People spend more than the average time here to enjoy the amenities Jester King has to offer. How it currently works: Check-in at the Pole Barn, order food from your phone using the QR code, pick up your food & order drinks at the Pole Barn, and find a seat either in the Beer Garden, The Hopyard, The Canopy or the Grotto. The Hopyard is where we decided to settle just because it's away from the larger crowds at the Beer Garden, and you're next to the Goat Barn! I didn't find the smells of the goats too horrendous, but be warned on windy days, the dust kicks up heavily! Brews, Ciders, and Wine is what Jester King has to offer in terms of beverages. Overall, jester king brewery was great. The grounds and location are beautiful. There were some hit or misses with each dish I had, and the beer didn't win me over. I think why this was 4 stars because everything was just good, but the grounds and location made that 2 star go to a 4 star. The tomatoe soup bisque was interesting. It was very watery. The flavor slowly grew on me. The grilled cheese was good, but small. I feel there needed to be another half or more bread for it. There was too much soup to grilled cheese ratio for dipping. The sage cookie truly grew on me. The flavor was intense and sweet. I took a bite and then needed a few mins to process this flavor. Eventually I'd eat the whole thing. The bread with dipping butter sucked. None of us liked this at all. I felt the bread was kinda hard, and I was expected warm bread but it was room temperate. Also, the butter it came with was super bland too. The 2 beers i had were okay, but i felt the flavor was pretty bland. I was here back in February so maybe the batches they were working on then were not my cup of tea. read more

This place is very interesting! We stopped by on a whim coming home from a winery because I had heard positive reviews from friends. We arrived around 4:30 on a Sunday and didn't realize we needed reservations. They said they don't like to turn people away so they gave us wristbands and let us stay, which we appreciated! The bartender poured a heavy glass of wine and explained the kitchen closes daily from 4-5, which I appreciated they're looking out for their staff and giving them a break. While we waited for the kitchen to reopen, we visited the goat farm! The goats were sooooo cute. They have numerous seating areas and a ton of trails around the area. 5 o'clock rolled around and we ordered a classic pizza, which was basic cheese, basil, and sauce. The pizza was full of flavor! It really reminded me of the pizzas I ate in Naples. Would definitely recommend! Great place to visit with larger groups of people as well. read more

They offer a goat experience for $10/person and it was worth every penny. My sister and her boyfriend were visiting from LA and they both loved it. You got to be up-close to day-old goats. Holding a baby goat is something you didn't know you needed to do until you try it. Afterwards, we grabbed a table by the stage (yay live music) and got pizzas and pretzels to share. We've been coming here for a long time, since it was Stanley's farmhouse pizza so it's been great to see the additions like the cute goats and large seating areas! Great to bring a large group of family or friends. The pizza is always good but make sure you order ahead because it can take almost an hour. The pizza crust is also more wheat and local grains which is cool and unique but I prefer a little less chewy texture personally. There are very few places where food, service and atmosphere, everything is 5stars and JKB is one among those. Post covid, we're rarely dining in but I was searching for a place which takes Covid precautions seriously and has good food, for my husbands birthday, and picked JKB, glad I did. Reservations can be done on there website, which is easy-peasy. You go check in, and choose the table, which are socially distanced, scan the code and order through your phone, once your order is ready, you get a message and you go n pick up. Pizza was delicious and made perfectly, my husband loved his beer, atmosphere was so pleasant, calm, kid friendly and socially distanced. Service is top notch, they really value and care there customers, if it's something wrong with your order, they are more than happy to make it for you again. Well if they could improve the service and staffing I would give more stars. The pizza and specials are good but it's just not worth waiting for everything, that should be pretty quick and easy. There is no light at night so you need to go when we have long days otherwise it's not very fun unless you bring your own lanterns. read more
