"Flavors that make you say wow with every bite!

I went to Jesse's Place with my friend yesterday, and honestly, it was an awesome experience! Their chicken and rice were on another level -- the chicken was super juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the rice was fluffy and full of flavor! The combination was just perfect!

I think this was the Norview Burger. Ham and cheese on the burger.

We have been coming here since it opened and was at its 1st location. Good food and service always. It's simple dinner food. It's large enough that we have never waited for a table since it moved to the current location.

After sitting in the airport and morning flight being canceled, we were hungry and looked up breakfast spots close by. There is parking right out front of the restaurant and I believe on the side. The outside appearance is questionable but we were up for the adventure and gave it a chance. The ambiance is like ol school diner. The inside is old but very clean. The one waitress was extremely nice and welcoming. It's spacious with plenty of tables. There are a lot of menu options, so something for everyone. I ordered the veggie omelette which was huge and delicious. I couldn't eat it all. The home fries are seasoned and OMG, amazing! Everyone at the table talked about how good they were. Husband got hot chocolate and it was the biggest cup of hot chocolate I have seen in a restaurant. We walked out satisfied with full bellies.

Jesse's Place 2314 Ingleside Rd, Norfolk, VA 23513 A Perfect Double Cheeseburger! The Jesse's Burger is your American Double Cheeseburger classic, but served perfectly! Not too salty and not bland at all. The double melted cheese blended well with the tender meat patties which were never frozen. There was a right amount of salt and a Thousand Island Dressing which gave the all American classic a certain zest. Of course, I added some sweetness to this entrée with ketchup, but honestly, it did not need it. The onions were crispy, the lettuce tasted fresh, and the tomato was perfectly sliced and juicy while the bread was also soft and chewable. The fries were also very impressive because they were precisely sliced from an actual potato with some of the skin left on. It was easy to bite into and were very savory with that real potato flavor. I ended the meal with A La Mode which was an apple pie served with vanilla ice cream. Delicious! Jesse's Place is definitely my kind of place!

Home style breakfast. Biscuit was slightly dry. The waitress provided great service. Restaurant was clean and quiet. If you don't feel like cooking this is a nice diner to checkout.

they forgot my whip cream, home fries 6.5. Some were fried too hard and crunchy. Pancake 10 Overall this meal was a 7.5 for me

On this particular lazy Sunday afternoon we were looking for a local spot in Norfolk to have a late breakfast. After a look on Yelp we decided on Jesse's because it is a centrally locates diner that serves breakfast until 3. Another bonus is that they have a breakfast buffet, but we'll get to that in a moment. The outside is slightly misleading. I had no idea it would be as roomy as it is on the inside. To say that they have plenty of seating is an understatement. The decor is most certainly old school and makes it cool spot to sit around and have a cup of coffee or tea. They even have a counter with stools that spin. Almost forgot to mention the fish tank, they have a fish tank. I called ahead to see if they were open and they were. Our waitress, who as it turns out is also the hostess, waitress, and cashier, greeted and seated us very quickly. Super excited to do some damage to the breakfast buffet but I did take a look at the menu just in case. I was informed that the buffet had just been demolished by a large table the left just before we came in, so there wasn't much left to be had. The waitress did say that the kitchen would make anything buffet item fresh for us. That was such a sweet gesture, especially considering how close it was to closing time. Just so you know the buffet typically has fruit, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, some form of breakfast potatoes, biscuits, sausage gravy, and grits. They also have a waffle maker so you can do up your own waffles (how cool). Ended up going with an order of biscuits and gravy with two eggs. My date went with the gyro and fries. Neither one of us were disappointed. The sausage gravy was delicious, it wasn't overly salty and had the perfect amount of sausage in it. I asked for the eggs to be scrambled hard and they were on point. My only complaint is that I asked for the hash browns to be crispy and they were a bit soggy, wasn't a big deal because I was only going to have a few bites of them. The gyro and fries looked like they should be on the cover of gyro magazine (if there were such a thing). When left with empty plates, full bellies, and our calendars open so we could schedule another visit.

Jesse's Benedict

I am on a mission to try restaurants I've never heard of before and thanks to Door Dash this is possible. I ordered stuffed French toast and Jesse's egg Benedict. The French toast was delicious and it was stuffed with strawberries and cream cheese which was a perfect flavor combination. I do think they should either top with strawberry sauce or send syrup but other than that it was great. The Benedict had crab meat and it was so good. This was my first time ever trying Benedict and I was not sorry I ordered it. The flavor medley was excellent and made me forget that I was having crab in the morning. I believe I will order breakfast again from here, different choices of course. From where I'm sitting this is a 4 star restaurant.

This is a favorite spot for me & my family. It's not a chain, which is great, and the staff is always great. I feel bad for not giving them a review sooner :( Especially when restaurants are having such a hard time keeping steady help and putting out good product. I took my mom there today. I had the Steak and Eggs meal (I was so hungry after my workout I didn't take a pic because it looked so yummy!). I ordered my steak rare and it was cooked perfectly, little charred on the outside, tender, very red and juicy on the inside. If it ain't still mooing, I don't want it! Haha. Had my eggs scrambled, with cheese and I chose the home fries vs. hash browns. I also had the choice of a biscuit or toast, but I passed on both. I usually get the Caribbean omelette, Chicken & Waffles or the Scrambled Egg Breakfast with all bacon, 'cause, you know, bacon makes you happy! I ate every bit of it. Delish!! Mom had the Hamburger Steak with mashed potatoes & gravy and House Salad. A little heavy on the gravy, but too much is always better than not enough, in my book! She enjoyed it all, it looked good! Our coffee cups were never empty and they were pretty busy around lunch hour. I was glad to see that. I hope this place continues to do good business because I like coming here and it's not a hike from my house. Check them out if you like mom& pop style places and always consider supporting our local spots!!!

I don't know what happened to this spot but never again. The food used to hit. Thought i had a good breakfast arriving only to be highly disappointed. I know Ms Majorie didn't cook this crap. Doesn't even deserve a star

Double Cheeseburger

WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN. I'm really disappointed and angry in what I got and should've checked on here before ordering. We ordered through Grub Hub, and it was a complete disaster. Chicken Philly: barely any chicken and veggies. Fries were cold. Both burgers: cold, soggy bread, meat was dry. Fries were also cold and no condiments added to the burger as put in the order. Lamb gyro: lamb was extremely tough and cold. It tasted like leather. No condiments were given with all the orders we got that had fries. I don't do reviews often, but this place really made us upset and ruined our lunch.

Catfish Hashbrowns and scrambled eggs
Quiyana S.

I understand COVID has hit ppl hard but this is just unacceptable... I ordered catfish breakfast with fully loaded hash browns and scrambled eggs on DoorDash. This is what I got... I tried to eat it but some of the fish was undercooked. The bacon was rubbery and hash browns were mostly burnt. The only thing I was really able to eat was the scrambled eggs. I wouldn't have even let this leave my restaurant. This is ridiculous. Never again !

Fries are not included, so each meal ended up costing about $16 for a burger and fries without a drink. We ordered the regular cheeseburger, the Cowboy with bacon, BBQ sauce, and American cheese, the Cobra Kai with cream cheese, pickled jalapeños, and jalapeño jelly, and the Classic Jack with caramelized onions, JB sauce, and dill pickles. Everything tasted solid, but nothing really stood out compared to other burgers I have had. I was also confused by the "dill pickles" topping since every burger already came with a pickle on the side. One downside was the limited menu. There were no chicken tenders or ranch options for others in our group who wanted something simpler. The restaurant itself is very small and does not seem ideal for larger groups. We had five people and needed an extra stool added to our table to fit everyone. Another group of seven ended up leaving because they could not sit together. That said, I would still come back if I were in the area since I did enjoy the meal for what it was . A special shoutout to the waitress with the bridge piercing. She was friendly, accommodating, and quick with service, which really stood out.

I chose the Becca Burger, without mushrooms and their Steak Diablo Fries. They make everything fresh, to order with fresh ingredients. The burger was clearly freshly hand-packed, the jalapeños were freshly sliced, not pickled. Since they make it all fresh, you might wait a few minutes longer than the typical burger joint, but that's fine considering the amazing eats you're about to enjoy. My burger came out looking beautiful and it was definitely sitting tall! The flavor was excellent! Meat was great too!! I definitely liked having their chipotle mayo on it!! Those steak Diablo fries were incredibly tasty, with a nice kick, but sooo much more flavor than heat! The fries themselves were great, perfectly crispy and tasty, but adding all those toppings truly made it special! Service was nice... I had a few questions and she was helpful with the answers. Lastly, they have birch beer here, which I loved! Highly recommend stopping in for a great burger and fries experience!!

Burger options look phenomenal but I wouldn't know because I can't help but damn near always get the Junk Drawer (omg). Quality burger cooked to choice, my only gripe is within the last year the chefs had to have been changed up because the burger don't taste as good as they used to (ie: tenderness, juices, quality of beef, idk but something has changed). Appetizers are solid, especially the mozzarella sticks and they give you cool spice options for the fries. I haven't had a happy hour here yet so I can't speak to the booze. Everyone plays on their phones through a QR code, so the room stays pretty calm. No shouting answers or chaos, just a lot of people quietly locked into trivia. I was seated immediately and ordered The Big Cheese burger. At first glance, it looked promising. The beef seemed like quality meat and not a frozen hockey puck. The vegetables were also very fresh. No sad, limp lettuce or those weird mushy tomato slices some places try to pass off as fresh. But here's where things went sideways: the patty had almost no flavor. I'm honestly not convinced it met salt at any point during its journey to the plate. It wasn't bad, just noticeably under-seasoned. For a place that positions itself as a serious burger spot, seasoning the meat feels like Burger 101. The fries were good. They offer different seasoning options, but I kept it simple with salt and pepper. I also ordered the Cheerwine sangria, which sounded like it would be something special. In reality, it mostly tasted like regular sangria that someone carbonated. Not bad, just not particularly interesting. Service was friendly and quick, which I appreciated. Overall, the meal was fine. But when your whole mission is basically "we're the burger experts," it's a little surprising when the burger tastes like the seasoning got left in the kitchen.

They were crunchy and tender on the inside. Getting to this location was super easy and they own their own parking lot which is free for patrons. If you're not able to find parking, they have plenty of paid street parking. I also want to add that they do offer discounts but to service members who are in uniform. Service members rarely ever wear their uniforms just to dine out unless they are on official orders or are working full time. I find that a bit unfortunate because the value veterans and military service members bring should be honored while they are and are not in uniform so I hope that the management changes that policy someday. They offer no other forms of discounts as I asked about teachers and emergency personnel too just to give people something additional when seeking this place out. It's still a good lunch spot tho.
