I really craved a Torpedo from Giuliano's when I was in Torrance a few days ago, but I remembered how bad my last several sandwiches were, so I skipped making the stop before heading back down to Oceanside. I decided to try the Italian here, and it's pretty good. I got it Mike's Way with the juice on the side and they forgot the juice. No biggie; it was fine without it. The lettuce was brown already (I came close to opening time), but everything else was fresh. The employees were busy making sandwiches for online orders when I arrived; they were polite and greeted me immediately. I love that this spot has its own parking lot- it's easier than parking on the street (pro tip: the transit center also has free garage parking!). Overall, while I rarely eat deli sandwiches, I would be open to coming back. The philly cheesesteak caught my eye. This is by far the worst Jersey Mike's location I've visited. I've given it multiple chances because everyone has off days, but the customer service here is consistently poor. Each time I've come in, the staff seems rushed and impatient. On my most recent visit, two employees were asking me different questions at the same time and expecting immediate responses, which made the ordering process unnecessarily stressful. Instead of feeling welcomed, I felt hurried. There is also a noticeable attitude from certain employees, including the girl at the front and the bearded employee behind the counter. I politely asked if my tomato could be chopped. I was told they don't do that, which is perfectly fine, but the response was delivered with visible frustration and attitude. It's not the policy that's the issue, it's how it was communicated. Unfortunately, this is the closest location to me, but I'm not willing to spend nearly $30 on two subs and receive poor service in return. I get my sandwhich back and none of what I requested was on it, when I asked if I could get my original order they rudely told me nothing can be done and wanted to charge me fully for a new sandwhich, even with a receipt of my original order. Of all the jersey mike locations this one today says they no longer take military discounts. You were in the heart of Southern California Naval marine bases. I will never go back to this place the other Jersey, Mike's in Southern California do take military discount. The food is excellent, but that's not my point. read more

The customer service at this store is top notch. I had an issue with the sub I ordered and attempted to reach a service rep via the app by sending a message. Waited a week and heard nothing so I did some research and it said going through the store directly is the way to go. I gave the store a call and Saul the manager was fantastic. Not only did he agree to replace my order, but he said for the inconvenience he was going to comp me an additional meal as well. I told him I would be in that day around 5:30 and when I arrived, my sub already freshly prepared for me and ready to go. The associates were friendly and very accommodating. Saul and his team do a terrific job the store is often very busy because it's so close to Oceanside Pier and they always handle the foot traffic efficiently. I just returned from Pacific Towing, where I paid $450.00 to get my car back, because we mistakenly parked in the wrong space. I did not see the writing on the ground in the parking space or a tow sign. My wife and I were eating at the Mexican food place just next door. It was an honest mistake on our part, and we were there less than two hours before our car was towed. I am a semi-retired man. I work two days per week as a security guard to supplement my monthly Social Security payments. I will need to pick up four extra shifts to cover that $450.00 fee. If this is Jersey Mike's business practice, then shame on you. I have eaten at Jersey Mike's many times before we moved out here from AZ, but never again. read more

Do not come to this place. The owner sucks really bad. We accidentally parked in the parking lot after the store was closed and we didn't notice the terrible paint marked saying "Jersey Mikes Parking Only". There was also no "tow away" sign or anything. When we went to pick up our truck and pay the $500, the dude told us the owner sets up cameras to watch people that park in the lot. He then calls the tow company to pick up people's cars. Stopped by last night. Ordered some food. Then went across the street to grab my wine of the month from Orfelia. Came back to my car and it was gone. Towed. Tow guy said I can pick it up in the morning and he charged me 445$ I was there with my dog. The tow truck was parked in the alley hiding by Johnny mamas. He left me stranded with my dog when I was barely parked 20 minutes. Beware of parking at a designated Jersey Mikes Sub here. The quality of the food itself is good, typical for a Jersey Mike's. Not my first choice for a sub but it was the only one readily available during my coastal stroll. The biggest issue with this Jersey Mike's in particular (I've had issues with other locations in the past but this isn't about them right now) is the attitude of the staff. So I got me a gift card for Christmas and I went down to Jersey Mike's the one by the beach since I work a few blocks down and let me just tell you right when I walked in I was greeted with smiles, happiness and a really good vibe. While my sandwich was being made I forgot who is who but one of the sandwich makers and cashier asked me if I wanted water, and really made me feel comfortable. While I'm sitting there waiting for my sandwich I'm hearing the employees in the back Val, Dan and Vince talk and you can tell that they have a good chemistry working together. Once I got my sandwich I told all of them that I appreciate their positive energy and another customer who was sitting down eating a sandwich was like you know what I agreed to. This is the type of environment I want to walk into, being taken care of, having a nice smile a vibe and just being hospitable. I've been praying for this Jersey Mike's Owner. I sure hope that things have changed there, since a year ago. I hope & pray that there are CLEARLY stated ~ easy-to-read, and understand signs on each and every one of the parking spaces there now. There needs to be a sign directly in front of each space (not just on the ground ~ that you can't see when you drive over it, especially when it's dark and raining out.) It needs to say, "Jersey Mike's ONLY ~ EVEN when Jersey Mike's is CLOSED." (If you really cared, that is what you would post.) Simple. Clear. Where we parked, there was NO sign in front of us. Ground only. It was late, dark, and raining. My prayer is...that the Owner some day, some how will get to know what this terrible experience feels like. It is scary to come out at night and have your car missing! Think about it?...you have no idea where your car went to, your important stuff is in there, you have work in the morning. All this, because there was NO sign directly in front of the parking spot, on a late, dark, rainy night. $500 ~ paid to the towing company, 2:00-3:00am getting home exhausted (and wet), scared, and angry. I haven't forgotten this incident ~ it REALLY tramatized me. Ever since this happened, my husband and I look all around to see if there is any signs about parking. We go extra, out-of- our-way to look. I'm just writing to let the Owner of this Jersey Mike's, know my thoughts. Sure, it might be your private lot... but, have you ever really stopped and thought about the trama that you have put some people through? It's been a year now, since this happened to us. We were VERY new to Oceanside ~ just discovering the town. My husband was encouraging me to try Oceanside, instead of where I work in San Clemente. So, I believe it was our first visit to a restaurant down by the ocean. I just hope things have changed there.
