Have been a fan of The Habit for quite some time. I was disappointed while eating here the other night. First the place was very dirty. Tables not wiped down, trash on some tables for long periods. For the first time ever the fries were greasy. I've always felt the fries were a good quality and very tasty. Did not finish them. Hope this is not a trend. read more

This location needs to hire more people. I don't even bother with the drive-thru anymore - it takes longer than in-n-out and the line isn't even half as long. The (3) workers are clearly overworked and stressed and unfortunately it translates to their customer service. There's been multiple times that my order was missing something, specifically the drink from the kids menu. And because the workers are so overworked and behind, they don't have the patience to check to see if you have everything and if you're missing something you have to flag them down. This is the only Habit location I've experienced this. read more

I met some friends here for lunch but was a bit disappointed in the vegan options. Their fries at in a shared frier with other non-vegan products (onion rings, green bean fries, sweet potato fries, etc). They have the impossible burger, which the party is vegan but then you would have to customize to make it vegan friendly. They do have a veggie burger (I didn't try it here but I've had it before at one of the stadiums in SD). I wasn't very hungry on my visit so I ordered the garden salad- it was pretty meh (opt for no croutons if vegan). I make better salads at home. I felt as though it was missing something. it had lettuce, carrots, grape tomatoes, red onion, cucumber. Their fountain hibiscus agua fresca was delicious though! I was pleasantly surprised. The place was clean, service was friendly, ample parking in a shared lot. I had always drive by the Habit and wanted to check it out but it isn't my number one pick. I went to this Habit restaurant located on 1870 Rancho Oro Rd. Oceanside. This Habit has a drive thru and I placed an order of a double charburger with cheese that's free with over $5.00 order. I ordered a single cheese charburger to satisfy the deal. The girl at the window was nice, but was very busy and had to wait about 5 minutes to pay and 10 more minutes to get my food. The girl apologized for the delay. The double charburger with cheese was very salty. It was almost inedible. The single charburger with cheese was cooked perfectly. It was a disappointment of the inconsistency of the food. I probably will not eat at this location again. The Habit located on El Camino Real is so much better. My overall score is 2 stars . I had better at other burger places. read more

Banana shake does not look like advertised banana shake. Was excited to try either way but had strong taste of artificial banana sweetener, not good. Starry drink tasted like I was drinking carbonated dish water. Burgers and fry's are mid - nothing fancy. Same quality as in'n'out for more money. read more

Hey Burger buddies sorry but this Habit is not typical, need new manger or something is wrong with this particular location, cold food, slow service, and a weird Ambiance. the only good thing is it has a drive-thru but you should probably just drive-by and go to the other Habit on El Camino Real. Never been to one of these fast food chains. My friend said she had a burger last week and thought it was good. So we went through the drive up. Server was nice about taking our order. Three charburgers, FF, Green Beans and two shakes. $39.44 Holy Moly. Was it worth it. Not to me. Thank goodness I wasn't paying. The person taking our money was not very friendly. This place will NEVER become a "habit" for me. Been there a few times. Unlike In-N-Out, they don't seem to have systems in place to assure hot food. In the past, I've gotten stone cold tempura green beans, burgers, fries, etc., for consumption inside the restaurant. Today, I watched an eat-in order sit 10+ minutes without anyone being called to pick it up (I have no idea what happened, because I walked away with my order). The burgers taste good, but their version of a double-double is hardly worth the $9-10 they charge (depending on location). All that being said, they seem to be pretty busy, so most people must not care about the lapses I see in quality and service. Frankly, unless they're offering a compelling special, I won't be back. read more

My daughters and I love The Habit on Murrieta Hot Springs, near Sam's Club and Walgreens. It's a busy place and I usually order from the App. A short wait is not a problem. The current manager is great; smiling, helpful, and professional. The cooking staff is hard working and as fast as they can be. Don't think we've ever had an order mistake. I have had a horrible experience with the App promotions. They don't work and never have. There are "TRICKS" to make promotions work. Ridiculous. Every time a promo fails, the generous managers make it right! And I write a flaming memo to the Habit Corporation, explaining how they failed. They have never responded. But, enjoy The Habit, and be very leery and suspect of their promotions. The other Habit restaurants in this area are equally great. read more

I went yesterday around 11am. I order a patty melt combo and Im used to people at different locations or restaurants to have a mask-like face and bland attitude. In this case Stefania when she took my order was very welcoming and friendly, I didnt know what to order and she suggested me this new meal. I really liked it and felt welcomed. The food came out fast and was cooked accordingly to my expectations which is a plus. This location is better Carlsbads by far. I started working close by and will definitely come back again. In spite of how busy things were when we walked in, and the fact that there was only two employees here when we got here, we had the most amazing dinner experience . The food was delicious and hot and perfect thanks to the most amazing short order cook I have seen in years named Brianna who I think is the manager also .... She was flipping burgers and taking drive-through orders and smiling at everybody and being friendly. It was quite sight to see . Nayeli, her right hand man was friendly, Very helpful . Triple check your order before you leave. This is the second time I've ordered from them and had things missing. The customer service needs work as well. Unfortunately I have to leave a two star review. The last 5 times my order was wrong. No fries 3x. I do make bigger orders but 3x. We end up having to share the fires and everyone has to chip in. Then the other two times i got cheese on the hamburger I did not order cheese nor did the receipt reflect that but I am lactose intolerant. Ruined the meal. Reached out for help but nothing. Went in to store to explain just how and got 7$ back. I think I am done. Good food but lots around town to choose from. Removed a star. Owner said he would DM me never got one ? read more

Finally got a chance to stop at this new location to pick up dinner for the fam. Got three Charburgers with cheese and added bacon to all three. This jacks up the price a bit but we thought it was worth it. Also ordered a side of fries and a side of the fried tempura green beans. The fries were good, with a touch of salt which is super important. The green beans were okay, just wish it came with a sauce (i.e. garlic aioli, etc). We all enjoyed our burgers and I'd say they're miles ahead of McDonalds and Jack in the Box. On par with In-N-Out really. Definitely will return! read more

My wife and I stopped here after attending our granddaughters middle school graduation. We chose the drive through option but should have just parked and went in because the wait was pretty long. We decided to just eat our burgers in the car so that they would be hot instead of driving home. Since this was our first time eating here we hoping for a great burger along with nice hot fries. The fries were not hot but just warm, the burgers were a little salty tasting to my wife and mine was dripping mayo the whole time I was eating it and seemed a little greasy also. Not sure If we would eat here again in the future but if so would probably ask for no mayo next time and no added salt to the burgers. read more

They paused, and answered "I'll tell them this happened." The big problem with this, is the person who answered the phone IS the person who placed our order. The name they said on the phone (Hello this is blah blah) is the name of the server on our receipt. Ordered Thursday 5/21, order 378. I don't take issue with the safety protocol of keeping the gluten free burger separate. I appreciate it! My issue is I made a specific request, was told "sure" instead of "no, because" Had we been told at time of ordering the gluten free has to be completely alone, then we could have requested a separate box. Had the server apologized for the error and taken ownership, I wouldn't be leaving this review. But the person who made the error answered the phone, and this is the only way to hold them accountable. I am not posting their name, but hopefully Tanners can see who it was from the date and order number posted above. I don't enjoy paying for food I can't eat.

At one point, we were ignored for over 30 minutes, and one of our drinks did not arrive until right before we paid the bill. It also seemed that the original server stopped checking on our table entirely, and another staff member eventually had to assist us. Considering it was Tuesday around 3 PM and the restaurant was not very busy, the lack of service was disappointing and unexpected. While the experience started well, the overall service ultimately fell short and left us disappointed.

My husband ordered the chicken sandwich with tater tots. I saw surprised how good the mushroom sloppy joes were. The tater tots hit the spot. My husband said the chicken sandwich was okay. I instantly set a reservation (didn't really need it) and we arrived around 4pm on a Tuesday and sat on the patio. Happy hour is daily from 4-6pm and if you sit on the recently renovated patio, drinks are 50% off. I ordered the Ribeye as my birthday entree and we also ordered the Fried Zucchini ($7), Popcorn Chicken ($9), Guajillo Braised Pork Shoulder ($21) and several cocktails ($7 each during HH). Everything was great honestly. No complaints. My wife REALLY loved the braised pork shoulder. My steak was excellent and even though it was free, $32 for a ribeye is the lowest you'll find anywhere. It was nice having not having to fight for a seat. Enjoying a cocktail on the patio in perfect weather is something everyone should try.
