Culver's in Layton is a few years "new", which makes it even more weird that so many things…read morefeel... sticky. And I do mean a pattern, not a one-off. Front door? Sticky. Restroom door handle? Sticky. Table? Also sticky. After the third visit with the same issue, I felt like it was worth saying something to the management. Now, the food itself is a different story. The burgers are simple, solid, and always hot. I can honestly say I've never been served a cold burger here. The cheese curds are a hit with my family, and I'll give credit where it's due: they're pretty darn good. The shakes and frozen custard are excellent and absolutely worth ordering. The chicken? It's fine. Not bad, not magical. Kind of in the "you could make something similar at home" category. If you love ranch, that may help the experience along. Drive-thru is where things can go sideways. Be prepared for delays, repeating your order, and the occasional feeling that the crew is having way more fun than the customers are. Maybe it's an off-day thing, maybe it's a pattern, but it has happened enough that I expect it now. (I don't care if they're having fun. It's the screaming through the intercom, inattentive order taking because they're screwing around that I am simple over it) Would I go back? Yeah. The food is good enough that I probably will...not. (my kids will) Would I prefer to be in the passenger seat while someone else handles the ordering? Also yeah. For food that's not bad but not great (just "meh") I'll go down the street to El Burrito instead.

Granted it was the "buy one get one" day and they were very busy, but the shortfall with the staff seemed to be a training issue. There was only one person, the manager, who could run the fryers, cook the burgers on the flattop, and hand out orders to the customers. They had 3-4 other employees just setting up buns with toppings and then standing and waiting for the burgers. The fries were getting way behind the orders because they only dropped one basket at a time in the fryer. I stood and watched the inefficiencies build up along with 20 of my other fellow patrons waiting on their orders. I had ordered ahead online and was giving a time to show up and get my order, however, I still waited at least 15-20 minutes past my show-up time for my order. I did not order fries, or even buns on my burgers, and I still couldn't get my order any faster. I inquired with two different employees and was told they were waiting on my fries which I didn't order. After all that chaos, my burger with fried mustard topping was just ok. I remember liking the burgers much more on previous visits to other Five Guys locations, but these were not too special and not worth the extensive wait and the chubby price. I don't see myself returning anytime soon.

We stopped by the Red Robin in Layton recently, and while a few parts of the meal were good,…read moreoverall it fell short of what we were hoping for. Drinks & Appetizers: The highlights of the visit were definitely the drinks. I ordered the Watermelon Dragon Fruit Margarita--the Tajín rim gave it a fantastic flavor contrast, making it really delicious. My husband had a pineapple coconut drink that he thoroughly enjoyed as well. They also brought out a basket of bottomless fries right after our drinks arrived so he could get started, which was a nice touch. (My bottomless broccoli side didn't come out until the main meal arrived.) The Food: Unfortunately, the entrees were pretty disappointing: Cheeseburger: My husband liked how juicy the patty was, but it came piled with an excessive amount of onions. They kept falling out everywhere, making the whole burger a hot mess to eat. Cajun Salmon: I ordered this hoping for some kick, but it was surprisingly plain and very bland--hardly any Cajun flavor or spice at all. Service & Experience: Service was sparse throughout the meal; our waitress only stopped by our table a handful of times. My husband was hoping to get a refill on his bottomless fries, but by the time she dropped off the check without asking if we needed anything else, we knew we weren't getting any more. Between the bland entree, messy burger build, and absent service, we probably won't be back.

As I'm ordering one employee stepped out the back door and starts puffing away on his cannabis cart. I smelt it and he was hacking up a lung after each draw he took from the pen. Aside from that, these people can't complete simple tasks like a plain hotdog with only ketchup... instead I get only mustard, I clearly asked the fries to be well done and even got a clear understanding from the employee working window (was super chill) I end up with soggy, limp biscuit fries. The peach tea syrup was all at the bottom of my drink. (Health alert ) I'd highly advise to check your order before you leave. Clearly their employees are too high to remember simple things. That alone could cause serious health issues to the unsuspecting guests. Be mindful!

He saw In n Out on our way to Target so of course we had to make our way in. He finally found something that sounded good to him. I really wish I can remember the gal's name who helped us. She was so sweet! She greeted us with the best smile. She helped my husband with his order. He's picky and didn't want all the extras on his double double, he's a simple kind of guy. We got all checked out and chilled in the dining area. It's so weird sitting inside this venue. It's so chill and cool. Our In n Outs back in Idaho are pure choas. It was nice to be able to find a clean table right away. We didn't have to stare awkwardly at guests to see if they are almost done eating. It was truly a refreshing experience. My husband polished off his double double. It was perfectly made. The fries were a little cold but he didn't mind. He enjoyed the main attraction. I asked him if Utah's In n Out tasted different from Idaho's. "It tasted the same". I think that's a great thing! Gotta love consistency. My husband had one last great lunch in Utah before we hit the highway to head home. Thank you to the sweet gal for helping us. I don't know if we will be back to this specific In n Out again but if we are by chance in the area, I'm sure my husband will want to make his way in again.
