I was at a party recently and the topic of food came up. We were all discussing what we've tried and what we haven't. When I mentioned that I was missing the summer "corn on the cob", someone asked me if I'd ever tried Mexican corn on the cob. Elote Loco. No, I answered. So off I was to find it... I can only speak for The Spanglish "corn on the stick" (as seen on their menu; also known as Crazy Corn/Elote Loco). This was a no for us. Steak burrito consisted mainly of beans, rice, salsa, onions and very little meat. The food literally had no flavor at all. Customer service was good, but food was not what expected. This was a one and done for us. Hope in the near future it will be better for others to enjoy. We've been here multiple times and I've enjoyed most of their food. The gordita, the flamin' hot cheese fries, and the burritos are favorites. Their snacks are also great! The servers are usually warm and welcoming. What I don't appreciate about this establishment is that the value falls a little bit short of the high prices. They can be inconsistent with food quality where one time the chile relleno plate was excellent and another time it was just not very good. For as much as they charge I expect consistency. Our last experience left a bad taste where we ordered almost $80 worth of food to go and had drinks and an appetizer while we were waiting. They refused to give us complimentary chips and salsa because part of our order was to go. I also ordered a side of beans and rice and the amount I got was laughably small, like a quarter of what's usually served with meals. Heard good things about Spanglish and have been looking for a good local Mexican restaurant. First off, they have a huge menu, so we will definitely be back in order to explore it more fully. The first chips are free and then you pay for more. Chips and salsa were really good. I tried the fajitas as I love a good fajita. The flavor was excellent! The steak is quite thin, which was okay as it had a really nice flavor and tenderness. Only thing as I'd like a little more steak in the fajita. I'd definitely order it again. Son had the nachos and they were just okay with nacho cheese sauce. My wife had a muleta and said it was good. Our server could have been a little more attentive as it was not busy when we stopped in for a late lunch. read more

They are not actually closed. They just moved. The surf and turf tacos were delicious. The mole burned just right at the end. The salsa had roasted veg. The menus had wooden covers. My family was so disappointed in the food and the prices have gone up pretty drastic, it was very pricey for what we actually received. This place is awesome! If authentic is what you're looking for, this is the place! So I first went to their establishment across the street which only offers treats and bionicos fun things like that! I got a michelada (non alcoholic) it has Sprite in it and WOW! tip your girl! It was THE BEST! Soo cute inside as well. I went to the actual restaurant right after, they will be merged at that location next to the McD Jan1, 2026, so you can enjoy all their treats and their meals in one place. I got our food to go: kids meal bean and cheese burrito w fries: it was a great meal my two toddlers shared it and the price was right. We also got a quesibirria burrito, it comes with consome WOWWW! SOOO GOOD! we got an order of the supreme nachos, they were tasty, I just wish the portion was a bit bigger for the price that it was. Lastly the combo #4 came w one taco, one enchilada, and one tamal plus the beans and rice delicious and authentic! Be warned I'm Latina and the red sauce enchilada was a bit spicy! Last time I was in town I tried this place as it was great. So I thought I'd give it another try. They have this place for the antojitos but they just opened up a restaurant about 2 blocks away. They interior was nice, takes you back to a little restaurant in Mexico. I ordered a burrito with green sauce eggs and potatoes. I was amazing!!!!! The burrito itself was huge. The one thing that I came in for was the cafe de olla. Which is a coffee made in a pot and they add this called piloncillo ( brown cane sugar ) it was out of this world delicious. I crave their quesibirria tacos constantly. The consome is rich and flavorful and have the perfect amount of heat. Usually, even taking them to go and driving 10 minutes back to my house, they're still perfectly crunchy. The shrimp tacos are excellent. The enchiladas are delicious and just packed with flavor. The bean and cheese burrito is my ultimate comfort food. Their tres leche cakes are the perfect dessert. Their new location (too conveniently) located by VASA seems really nice! We tried Spanglish in Layton (that also has a sister location in Roy) because we had heard about the tasty Birria. For a small place the colors are cheerful, the menu quite deep, and the service friendly, even if not as attentive as I'd prefer. A 3-quesabirria taco plate with consommé was around $13 and a large pambazo sandwich (a la carte with no sides) $10. Strawberries-and-crema cups were another $5 each. All the prices are a touch higher than you normally see for a lunch stop, though they also serve dishes you don't always see, like birria and pambazos. The food was excellent even if portions not huge and a touch more costly for size than I'd expect for the vibe the place gives off. They do have a sign saying the food is not fast food-- and the best complement I can give is that it tastes homemade and authentic. The guajillo sauce into which my super-fresh bolillo roll was dipped tasted perfect (light and crisp) and they didn't skimp on the verde salsa nor cotija cheese. The birria also was rich in meat fats and dried chilis even if not a huge portion. So in my view you're paying for the extra step of homemade time and care above the usual Mexican burrito and taco joints for our area. The crema (though they said is their special recipe) on the berries didn't quite taste like they had mixed with crema agría (Mexican creme fraische) nor sweetened condensed milk, however. So flavor there was a little thin and not as tangy nor full as I'm used to, even if the berries were still very refreshing after the spicy (but not too spicy) entrees we chose. The only thing really holding me back from giving five stars was that the service wasn't that attentive even though it was friendly enough when the daughter of the owners was at the front counter. (She was often away in the back even though only a couple of tables were filled at lunch time and only a couple take-away walk-ins). Seems like she was running the restaurant herself. No water was served at the table nor any place to help oneself. And while the place is modest in size/decor (though not dirty) a lot of houseflies had come in as customers enter and leave. Would like to see them solve those things. read more

We tried this place for the first time and were SO impressed!! Everything we ate was scrumptious! Chips and salad were great, with a perfectly hot and smoky salsa with warm chips. Loved the combo #4 with the taco being the star of the show. Birria tacos, burritos, and street tacos were all delectable. Even the rice and beans were really great! We appreciated the timing on our Door Dash order as well. It was just a few minutes late, but mostly still warm. You could tell they took care to package it hot for the journey. Soggy tortillas not crispy how I asked for them to be with two of the thinnest slices of deli ham I've ever seen in my life used as garnish. I walked into this restaurant at 7:59pm. It took about 2 minutes to have someone notice me. It was a female big in size, i did not catch her name. She asked me with the biggest attitude if I was there for an order and I said no I was there to order. Immediately she said well we are closed "can't you see?" Then immediately said "Byyyeeeeee" and then repeated herself saying "Byyyeeee" in a cery condescending tone and attitude. There was no apology about kicking me out and being closed just pure attitude and very very very bad customer service. I have literally been trying to find a food street food Mexican place in Utah for ever, and I have seen this little place several times going home; but it's always crowded, and so i never stopped, but i was bored one day, and decided to stop and check this place out. WOW!!! I love this place so much, it is the best!!! It's family owned, and all the staff are all family, they are very nice and friendly. They have so many different foods, and drinks. I have attached the menus, but they have so many more. The ceviche is the best ever, you will definitely love the ceviche, if you try anything you must try this. I love ceviche and this is the best I have ever had hands down, it's so fresh and delicious. I can literally go on and on how delicious everything is, but you need to definitely come and check this place out; you will not be disappointed. So delicious! We went there with friends and then took our kids a few day later because we loved it so much. Our first time there I had the carne asada tacos with beans and rice and my husband had the burria burrito. Both were delicious. Yummy drinks and such a fun atmosphere. Second time we had the carne asada fries and again the burria burrito. The fries were fantastic! At the end of our meal they brought us a taste of the chocolate tres leche and I can't stop thinking about it! This is going to be a regular place for us. I ordered a chile relleno to go- it was amazing but very pricey and literally had no sauce or cheese on top which was really weird but ok I figured it was a mistake and went back to order a meal another day. I wanted to add an extra relleno because it's common to have 2 when you go to a Mexican restaurant but this place wanted an extra 10$ to add another chile relleno to my chile relleno order- I literally could not believe when she told me my order was 27$ and some change!!! We came here because my niece was craving birria tacos. They have a really big menu that features a variety of Mexican food/snacks including street food like elote, bacon wrapped dogs & other stuff which is nice. I was expecting mostly for it to be Ice cream and snacks or more so like the Carts but they have real food too. We had the birria tacos, asada mulita, chilaquiles & street tacos. Meat had good flavor which is what makes Mexican food for me. The chilaquiles were good but I'm not a fan of Chile verde but it was still good. The tacos were also good & the service is great! I believe it's family owned but they were very kind and hospitable. Would definitely some back again and try some other items on their menu! I just ordered way too much today :( read more
