    Gordita
    Magen L.

We've been here multiple times and I've enjoyed most of their food. The gordita, the flamin' hot cheese fries, and the burritos are favorites. Their snacks are also great! The servers are usually warm and welcoming. What I don't appreciate about this establishment is that the value falls a little bit short of the high prices. They can be inconsistent with food quality where one time the chile relleno plate was excellent and another time it was just not very good. For as much as they charge I expect consistency. Our last experience left a bad taste where we ordered almost $80 worth of food to go and had drinks and an appetizer while we were waiting. They refused to give us complimentary chips and salsa because part of our order was to go. I also ordered a side of beans and rice and the amount I got was laughably small, like a quarter of what's usually served with meals. Sometimes it's the little things that can make or break a business and I hope they consider making improvements so we can continue to give them our business.

I chose to get the birria quesadilla for my birthday dinner and I was over-the-moon! The flavors were booming and the portions were perfect! I've been thinking about that quesadilla ever since. I need more!!! I also was eyeballing my daughter's carne asada fries. They looked and smelled amazing! I'll be back for another birria quesadilla and some carne asada fries.

Heard good things about Spanglish and have been looking for a good local Mexican restaurant. First off, they have a huge menu, so we will definitely be back in order to explore it more fully. The first chips are free and then you pay for more. Chips and salsa were really good. I tried the fajitas as I love a good fajita. The flavor was excellent! The steak is quite thin, which was okay as it had a really nice flavor and tenderness. Only thing as I'd like a little more steak in the fajita. I'd definitely order it again. Son had the nachos and they were just okay with nacho cheese sauce. My wife had a muleta and said it was good. Our server could have been a little more attentive as it was not busy when we stopped in for a late lunch.

They are not actually closed. They just moved. The surf and turf tacos were delicious. The mole burned just right at the end. The salsa had roasted veg. The menus had wooden covers. The decor was bright and fresh. No iceberg lettuce or cheddar cheese anywhere in sight. Service was ok but that didn't matter with how delicious the food was!

This place is awesome! If authentic is what you're looking for, this is the place! So I first went to their establishment across the street which only offers treats and bionicos fun things like that! I got a michelada (non alcoholic) it has Sprite in it and WOW! tip your girl! It was THE BEST! Soo cute inside as well. I went to the actual restaurant right after, they will be merged at that location next to the McD Jan1, 2026, so you can enjoy all their treats and their meals in one place. I got our food to go: kids meal bean and cheese burrito w fries: it was a great meal my two toddlers shared it and the price was right. We also got a quesibirria burrito, it comes with consome WOWWW! SOOO GOOD! we got an order of the supreme nachos, they were tasty, I just wish the portion was a bit bigger for the price that it was. Lastly the combo #4 came w one taco, one enchilada, and one tamal plus the beans and rice delicious and authentic! Be warned I'm Latina and the red sauce enchilada was a bit spicy! I'll never get over that delicious michi, I'm still drooling just thinking about it! I will come back FOR SUREEEEE!!! authentic is this place!

Last time I was in town I tried this place as it was great. So I thought I'd give it another try. They have this place for the antojitos but they just opened up a restaurant about 2 blocks away. They interior was nice, takes you back to a little restaurant in Mexico. I ordered a burrito with green sauce eggs and potatoes. I was amazing!!!!! The burrito itself was huge. The one thing that I came in for was the cafe de olla. Which is a coffee made in a pot and they add this called piloncillo ( brown cane sugar ) it was out of this world delicious. It brought back memories from my childhood. The owner was there and she was very friendly and when you go just know that everything is made fresh.

I crave their quesibirria tacos constantly. The consome is rich and flavorful and have the perfect amount of heat. Usually, even taking them to go and driving 10 minutes back to my house, they're still perfectly crunchy. The shrimp tacos are excellent. The enchiladas are delicious and just packed with flavor. The bean and cheese burrito is my ultimate comfort food. Their tres leche cakes are the perfect dessert. Their new location (too conveniently) located by VASA seems really nice! The service is always very friendly and welcoming.

Pambazo torta (large sandwich version) $10, and queso birria taco plate (with consommé) $13.

The shell was a lot different from the regular beef tacos that they were serving, and I loved it! Just not your average taco shell! The black beans were very good, and the chips while normally large and warm were broken and warm, not like the ones I remembered like Chili's, which has phenomenal chips! But they serve it with a sauce and a bean sauce, which are really really good, so not mad about it was just craving the better ones! My friends got the ice cream with rolled donuts filled with chocolate sauce, and it was really really good, I got the sopafillas, which had a very good white creamy sauce, not like the ones I've usually had, which I have come to find out ,very from restaurant to restaurant, but we're pretty good. But of course, the reason for the excellent mark is because of Mason, a great waiter, very informative, and we talked about our trips we take, and he was very informative! So they're very many reasons to like a waiter and he was among the best! It's a cool looking restaurant with very nice seats and a great Mexican look of course! It wasn't as busy on a Saturday night as I thought it would be, but the prices are really good for not a luncheon menu, almost forgot about their tortilla soup, which I ordered separate. It was truly one of the best tortilla soups I've had! So it's got a great thing going for it so I hope more people in that area of Layton go a little bit more often! However, I assume with all this government shut down business ,that it's been downright hard for anybody to get the money to do anything!

The event started out with a bang on a Sunday morning with endless mimosas! The guava went quick, but my husband and I were happy with the orange and pineapple mimosas. While enjoying our mimosas, they brought out the appetizer. It was freshly made guacamole topped with a chili crisp, and it included a flight of their sauces. I'm a sucker for a good guacamole...and their guacamole is great! I loved the chili crisp on top (it reminded me of the Foo Fries they had one time). The chips were salted perfectly and had a good crunch to them. The green sauce was so good, and we liked dipping the guac in it to give the guac a little bit of spice. The salsa had great flavor and I saved some for the main course, but ended up taking the salsa home (I'll touch on that later). The main course was their new special called "The G" which consisted of crinkle cut fries, scrambled eggs, basque chorizo, cheese, Inca sauce, onions, and their new Hood sauce all wrapped up in a flour tortilla. I took one glance at that burrito and I knew I was going to love it, and boy was I right! That sauce mixed with the chorizo and crispy fries really took this burrito to a whole new level. Dare I say it's my new favorite? That flavor and the crunch of the fries really made my tastebuds happy....so much so that I didn't want to change a thing by adding the salsa I saved. The side of fries came with a small container of Hood sauce. With each bite, my husband and I could taste a familiar flavor, but we couldn't quite put our finger on it.....and they wouldn't tell us their secret. We understood though because it's good! After a little bit of digesting, they served us some dessert. It was called "Churros Foster" and it consisted of churros, vanilla ice cream, and it was covered with bananas foster. This dessert was to die for! The cinnamon...the vanilla....the banana....I wanted to lick the bowl clean! I wish this was going to be a new addition to the menu, but for now it's not and I understand. I still really enjoy the churros on their dessert menu. Mimosas, delicious food, and good company! This was such a fun experience and we were very grateful to be invited.
