Medium size container mild salsa included with chips
    J M S.

First time ever trying this restaurant. I requested my order "To Go" which included two chicken enchiladas entrees with their chips and guacamole. First of all, I greatly appreciated their attention to detail and everything being freshly sealed for the drive home. Came in a large sturdy takeout bag with handles so it was very easy to carry and I didn't have to worry about cheap plastic bags ripping like other establishments. The chicken enchiladas entree had excellent seasoning, was generously portioned, had a tomato slice and some green lettuce leaves, and also came with a side of refined beans and Spanish rice. Utensils and napkins were included minus me even asking. The chicken, sauces, and everything in between were absolutely fresh and delicious! The guacamole and tortilla chips came with a large plastic bag for the chips that was tied and also had the restaurants seal so I knew it was going to be fresh! And it was. The guacamole was absolutely divine. Definitely could have used more than the little plastic container but I noticed on their menu you can buy a larger size; guaranteed next time I will. The guacamole was creamy and perfectly chunky with avocados, lime, tomatoes, and cilantro. A win, win, all the way around! I also received a medium sized well sealed container of mild salsa that was also fresh and seasoned well; definitely not like the canned garbage that you find at the grocery store. I've included photos for reference though I don't think I could ever quite caption my impressiveness with this restaurant! Definitely would like to stop in sometime for a sit down meal and try one of their Margaritas. Give this place a shot! I assure you, that you won't leave disappointed.

Actually things worked out pretty well. First time visit. I was concerned about my spousal unit handling this type of food. Spicy and her do not get along at all. The place wasn't too busy when we arrived so we were seated quickly and had a very good server. I have to admit I do like the look of the place. The food was excellent and had some nice flavor to it. Sadly, the portions were much larger than I could handle. But could see us returning here.

We went to Cafe Sabor on Friday with a group of friends, 10 in total with an early reservation at 5:30 pm before a party later that evening. Even though we were there early before the dinner rush it still took them about 10-15 minutes to get our table ready. No big deal. I've found Cafe Sabor to be a little hit and miss and not a fan of the Bear Lake location, but Layton seems to do a pretty decent job. I wish I'd grabbed our Servers name because she was excellent, especially with such a large table along with her other tables. Very friendly and on top of everything with no delays. We'll done server! They start with chips and salsa with a very mild salsa and a medium one, I like that they have both as options, the medium isn't very hot but has a nice flavor. 5/5 My go to there is the Pollo Con Creme, made the mistake of ordering their fajitas once, don't do that. But the Pollo con crème is really good, it's like a chicken fajitas but in a yummy crème sauce with mushrooms, peppers, chicken, that you wrap in a tortilla like a fajitas with beans and rice. And it's really quite good. 5/5 My wife ordered the chicken mole and really enjoyed it, the bite I had with the fried plantains was excellent, good contrast of flavors. 5/5

It was fun finding this location but we did. The place is somewhat large can accommodate groups of all sizes. They have both booths and tables. We got a booth. We were served water and chips and salsa as soon as we set down. They have a nice selection of Mexican food items on their menu. I went with the shrimp al a Diablo and my wife had the combination plate with a chili releno. Both were very good. The salsa is terrible and tastes like marinara sauce. Service was very good and the food was also very good We will go back.

Shredded iceberg lettuce and shredded cheese is what I received to fill my beef taco entree that came with NO BEEF!

I ordered from a food app on an early weekday evening for delivery. I requested the two entrees that are both supposed to come with Spanish rice and refried beans along with the main entree requested. I requested the two chicken enchiladas and one beef taco along with red and green hot sauce for the meal. Not only was there no red or green sauce to be found, the beef taco showed up with just an empty taco shell and some shredded not very fresh iceberg lettuce and some dried out shredded cheese that clearly came from a prepackaged bag. Aside from the beef missing, there was absolutely zero Spanish rice or refried beans given with the entree. The chicken enchiladas did arrive with the Spanish rice and refried beans. I have been to this restaurant before both in person and ordering takeout and I've never encountered such an issue before. I contacted the food app and they declined me any sort of refund. So I called the restaurant and requested to speak to the manager. I spoke to Shalynn who DID ADMIT that this was an error on the restaurants end. That they did know that they did forget the beef for my taco. She kept saying "ugh, ugh" anytime that I tried to speak! Very rude behavior and certainly not a very customer service oriented restaurant or person. Shaylynn told me that I needed to contact the food app; I told her that I already did and they were unwilling to refund me, etc. She then said I could drive down there right then and there and get a gift certificate for the two entrees. I told her that wasn't possible, as DUH, if that was the case, why would I have ordered and paid for food delivery. Then she insulted me further in her broken English telling me only one entree receives the Spanish rice and refried beans and that it is meant to go with both entrees. I said then why doesn't your menu state that? Not only that, but I have ordered two chicken enchiladas entrees before and BOTH of them had refried beans and Spanish rice! Shalynn NEEDS TO BE FIRED! She refused to listen and just kept with her "ugh huh, ugh huh" instead of listening to me: THE PAYING REPEAT CUSTOMER!!! Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere! Rancheritos and Betos have better customer service and that's not saying much! This whole meal and scenario ruined my whole event and that of who had joined me for dinner. Good luck Shalynn. Hopefully the REAL manager of this establishment sees this and sends you flying!

What happened? In the past, I've enjoyed amazing food here, but I went yesterday and it was a train wreck!! The cheese on our nachos had no flavor. (Walmart cheese?) The shredded chicken tasted terrible and was way too salty. The sweet pork also had a strange, unpleasant flavor. The salsa tasted like pizza sauce??? My kids and I were super hungry, so we ate most of food - but by the end we couldn't stomach another bite. Is Sabor cutting costs on ingredients to make more profit? I'm not going back. The chips were great, though.

    complimentary chips and salsa

This location has improved a lot. The service is great and very quick. The food is on point and served hot. I had the carnitas taco and queso and they were both fantastic. So much so that I forgot to take a picture. I was at this location earlier this year and wasn't happy and the manager Ruth has done a fantastic job of improving the ambiance, quality of food and service. The chips and salsa are very good. They give you 2 types of salsa. One spicier than the other and both amazing. I lived in Mexico for 1 year and this salsa taste just like it did back in Mexico. The staff is all very friendly and checks constantly on how everything is going. Will definitely come again.

The shell was a lot different from the regular beef tacos that they were serving, and I loved it! Just not your average taco shell! The black beans were very good, and the chips while normally large and warm were broken and warm, not like the ones I remembered like Chili's, which has phenomenal chips! But they serve it with a sauce and a bean sauce, which are really really good, so not mad about it was just craving the better ones! My friends got the ice cream with rolled donuts filled with chocolate sauce, and it was really really good, I got the sopafillas, which had a very good white creamy sauce, not like the ones I've usually had, which I have come to find out ,very from restaurant to restaurant, but we're pretty good. But of course, the reason for the excellent mark is because of Mason, a great waiter, very informative, and we talked about our trips we take, and he was very informative! So they're very many reasons to like a waiter and he was among the best! It's a cool looking restaurant with very nice seats and a great Mexican look of course! It wasn't as busy on a Saturday night as I thought it would be, but the prices are really good for not a luncheon menu, almost forgot about their tortilla soup, which I ordered separate. It was truly one of the best tortilla soups I've had! So it's got a great thing going for it so I hope more people in that area of Layton go a little bit more often! However, I assume with all this government shut down business ,that it's been downright hard for anybody to get the money to do anything!

The event started out with a bang on a Sunday morning with endless mimosas! The guava went quick, but my husband and I were happy with the orange and pineapple mimosas. While enjoying our mimosas, they brought out the appetizer. It was freshly made guacamole topped with a chili crisp, and it included a flight of their sauces. I'm a sucker for a good guacamole...and their guacamole is great! I loved the chili crisp on top (it reminded me of the Foo Fries they had one time). The chips were salted perfectly and had a good crunch to them. The green sauce was so good, and we liked dipping the guac in it to give the guac a little bit of spice. The salsa had great flavor and I saved some for the main course, but ended up taking the salsa home (I'll touch on that later). The main course was their new special called "The G" which consisted of crinkle cut fries, scrambled eggs, basque chorizo, cheese, Inca sauce, onions, and their new Hood sauce all wrapped up in a flour tortilla. I took one glance at that burrito and I knew I was going to love it, and boy was I right! That sauce mixed with the chorizo and crispy fries really took this burrito to a whole new level. Dare I say it's my new favorite? That flavor and the crunch of the fries really made my tastebuds happy....so much so that I didn't want to change a thing by adding the salsa I saved. The side of fries came with a small container of Hood sauce. With each bite, my husband and I could taste a familiar flavor, but we couldn't quite put our finger on it.....and they wouldn't tell us their secret. We understood though because it's good! After a little bit of digesting, they served us some dessert. It was called "Churros Foster" and it consisted of churros, vanilla ice cream, and it was covered with bananas foster. This dessert was to die for! The cinnamon...the vanilla....the banana....I wanted to lick the bowl clean! I wish this was going to be a new addition to the menu, but for now it's not and I understand. I still really enjoy the churros on their dessert menu. Mimosas, delicious food, and good company! This was such a fun experience and we were very grateful to be invited.
